Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1191 - 628: Daybreak

Xu Xin didn’t join the group of girls in their revelry but instead walked out of the villa.

Looking into the distance, a brightly lit city appeared before him.

This city didn’t have towering skyscrapers; most of the buildings were one or two to three stories high, with the tallest not exceeding five stories.

After all, for the survivors living within the World Tree, this area is vast, and with their current population, there’s no need for vertical expansion.

The entire region feels like a bustling ancient capital city.

Hmm... a cyber ancient capital city.

This metropolis is the result of the survivors’ excessively strong desire to build, and currently, the World Tree doesn’t have enough population to sustain the bustle here, so at a glance, it appears somewhat empty and lacks vitality.

However, once the inhabitants of the underground are brought up, Xu Xin believes this place will soon become a flourishing city.

By then, the area within the World Tree might even be completely insufficient.

”Ah, Brother Xin!”

Someone called out to Xu Xin from behind him.

It was Wang Lei’s voice.

He turned to see Wang Lei leading a group of people towards him.

There were over a hundred people.

”What are you all up to? Are you organizing another gathering?” Xu Xin asked with some surprise.

Wang Lei quickly waved his hand, ”Of course not, we’re heading outside the World Tree.”

Outside the World Tree?

”This many people...?” Xu Xin furrowed his brows slightly, ”You all...”

”Hello, Brother Xin!”

”The sun is about to rise, I’m so excited!”

”Brother Xin, come with us!”

”Little Xin, come out to watch the sunrise with us.”

”Oh, unlike us, he must be long bored with sunrises.”

Before Wang Lei could finish speaking, the words from those people had already reached Xu Xin’s ears.

Watch the sunrise?

Ah...

Indeed, the sun is about to rise soon.

Xu Xin activated his mind-reading ability and found that the group following Wang Lei consisted mostly of individuals whose minds could be read; they were originally residents of the underground world.

Unlike the survivors who are relatively young, these people span all age groups. The person who called him ”Little Xin” was an older man.

During this time, they have completely integrated into this place, and aside from some lingering thoughts about their friends in the underground world, they no longer wish to return below ground.

They have also made significant contributions to the development here.

Because they lack the powerful abilities of the survivors, the technical personnel among them have shifted to agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fishing after imparting their skills to the survivors, focusing primarily on the primary industry.

On top of that, they have expanded the vegetation in this area substantially, so now, looking around the city, you can no longer see the previously barren lands; at worst, there are grassy patches and shrubs.

Not to mention the farmers, foresters, and fishermen industry that has expanded several times during this period. Xu Ying told them that soon more humans from the underground world will be brought here.

To ensure their compatriots also experience the awe of the surface world and the World Tree world, their efforts in this regard are commendable.

”I won’t be going; you guys go ahead.” Xu Xin waved his hand and smiled, ”Experience the real sun, but don’t stare at it too long, or it’ll really harm your eyes.”

”Haha, I’ve already warned them, Brother Xin!” Wang Lei laughed heartily, ”Brother Xin, are you sure you won’t join us?”

”Hmm... you all go first. I’ll check with Wenxi and the others.”

Going out for a bit wouldn’t be a bad idea; he has been ”decadent” in the World Tree for too long, and it’s time he ventured out.

Otherwise, his sense of crisis and motivation might completely disappear.

”Great! Then we’re off, Brother Xin.” Wang Lei, leading the group, continued towards the exit of the World Tree.

The crowd bustled and bid farewell to Xu Xin.

They simultaneously engaged in lively discussions.

”Sunrise... sunrise...! I’ve only heard about sunrises in myths and legends!”

”It’s said that it takes just a few minutes for the whole land to change from dark to bright!”

”I’m so excited that I’m at a loss for words!”

”How long has it been, over a month now?”

”I’m more looking forward to the midday sun; they say that light is extremely dazzling then!”

”But, if the sun comes out, won’t that super beautiful and brilliant starry sky be gone? Such a pity...”

”What’s there to pity? Don’t forget there’s always day and night on the surface!”

”But we mainly live in the World Tree, and the next night... wouldn’t it be at least two months away?”

”You can live outside the World Tree; many of us do already. Living outside, you’ll soon see the starry sky again.”

”Ah... still, forget it, the starry sky isn’t that tempting...”

”Why, do you think living outside is unsafe?”

”Yes, they told me about the events before this World Tree matured; it’s too terrifying! I dare not live outside, better stay inside...”

The crowd moved past in a noisy bustle.

Hmm... perhaps it’s best to step outside for a bit.

He’s quite interested to see their reaction to experiencing the sun for the first time.

A month ago, when night fell, all of them from the underground world had already ventured out once collectively to gaze at the starry sky.
