Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 249: Chapter 224: Qi Xuefei’s Predicament (4,400 words!!) _2

She swallowed a pill that should have rapidly healed her wounds.

”Haha, that’s right, I’m just toying with you!”

A man’s voice came from the treehouse, sharp and mocking.

”It’s not often I see a beauty like you. It would be a waste to kill you outright, of course, I have to play a little! Your armor is really strong, if not for it, I would worry about killing you. Once you’re exhausted and worn out, hehe...”

As he spoke, there was another mechanical sound, and a Crossbow Arrow was immediately fired at Qi Xuefei!

Drawing on her recently recovered strength, Qi Xuefei dodged with all her might, avoiding the heavy Crossbow Arrow, then suddenly turned and dashed into the forest in the opposite direction of the treehouse!

”Trying to run?”

Three mechanical sounds echoed, and three heavy Crossbow Arrows were shot briskly!

However, these three Crossbow Arrows didn’t hit Qi Xuefei, instead, they whizzed past right over her head, embedding themselves diagonally into the ground in front of her.

The three Crossbow Arrows blocked Qi Xuefei’s path, forcing her to stop abruptly, nearly crashing into them. She adjusted her position, trying to slip past and continue her escape.

”Ka!”

A fourth heavy Crossbow Arrow shot out at that moment and flew straight at her!

The one-meter-long heavy Crossbow Arrow flew fast, striking precisely on her right shoulder!

The steel armor protected her from being pierced by the arrow, but the immense force still flipped her over, slamming her harshly into the ground, raising a cloud of dust.

Xu Xin’s pupils contracted sharply.

Such precise shooting!

He had just been wondering, it’s just a short little treehouse, even if planting is required, it can only be within a ten-meter range, why put in so much effort to clear such a large area around it?

Now it seems, this might be the effective range of his heavy crossbow shooting! If there were trees, his crossbow’s effectiveness would be reduced!

”Ah!” Li Wenxi covered her mouth, letting out a small gasp.

Qi Xuefei clutched her shoulder, gritting her teeth. She felt her shoulder must be broken.

”How did it come to this...”

She deeply regretted her reckless actions now.

She actually had quite a bit of confidence in her own abilities, especially after getting the steel armor set gifted by Li Wenxi.

Wearing this steel armor set, she headed west, advancing in exploration toward this short treehouse.

Upon cautiously stepping outside her protected area, she was pleasantly surprised to discover that the protection area of this treehouse was connected with hers!

The path here led to the outside!

But she didn’t contact Xu Xin or Ji Chaoyang, choosing instead to approach the double-layer small treehouse alone.

In her view, the double-layer in a treehouse should belong to an ordinary survivor next door, which she could handle by herself without troubling Xu Xin and Ji Chaoyang.

Though they are partners, it’s generally not good to trouble others before meeting them, and naturally, things you can manage yourself should be done on your own.

Moreover, according to Xu Xin, the ordinary survivor across the way likely doesn’t know about the area opposition. She might be able to engage in friendly exchanges and explain her intentions. If the other party agreed, all the better, if not, she could act later.

The idea was good, but she made the same mistake as Xu Xin had just made.

Someone with a double-layer small treehouse could also be very strong!

When she got close, only about ten meters from the treehouse, all the heavy Crossbow Arrows on the treehouse suddenly turned to her and locked onto her!

She didn’t expect that before she could act, the other side started first!

If she could have seen all those Crossbow Arrows, she would never have entered this open area!

But, having studied to a doctoral level, it’s normal for her to be a bit nearsighted, so she only saw the rows of Crossbows hidden in the treehouse canopy when she got very close.

But it was too late.

Just like that, she was locked onto by the person’s Crossbow, unable to escape.

Although the other side pointed all the Crossbow Arrows at her, they didn’t seem to want to kill her, just not letting her escape. Whenever she tried to retreat, the other side would precisely use their crossbow skills to limit her movement.

Once, she failed to dodge an arrow, but, thanks to the steel armor set, it didn’t pierce through, and she wasn’t seriously hurt. This made the person in the treehouse even more reckless, knocking her down again and again, threatening her that if she dared to escape, she would be shot by a barrage of arrows.

The person didn’t come down either, just staying up there operating the Crossbow, continuously taunting. It seemed like they were waiting until she was completely exhausted and unable to move before coming down to clean up the mess, being very cautious.

She had thought about contacting Xu Xin, Ji Chaoyang, and Li Wenxi, but... the watch’s screen was all too conspicuous, and once she pulled up the screen, the Crossbow from the opposite side would shoot directly, leaving her unable to contact anyone else.

So, she’s been holding a standoff with this person in this area for nearly an hour.

”Why run? Don’t you know that within this hundred-meter range, it’s my territory? I can kill you before you run out, if you don’t believe me, try running again.” The mocking voice sounded from the treehouse.

”What do I do...” Qi Xuefei clutched her already broken shoulder, gritting her teeth tightly.
