Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 218: Chapter 202: Organization Expansion Plan!

He directly told them the relationship between the parasitic treehouse and the main treehouse, the survivors, and the treehouse core.

After he finished speaking, everyone fell into silence for over ten seconds.

Ji Chaoyang was the first to speak: ”So, we can actually turn people from other areas into our own.”

Qi Xuefei: ”But they can only become vassals, equivalent to prisoners under restrictions.”

Wen Guixin: ”That’s not bad; it’s better than dying for them.”

Wang Lei: ”Not necessarily, some people say freedom is more important than life, don’t they?”

Zhao Xiaochuan: ”You’re reminding me of those countries on Earth shouting freedom all day but surrendering at the speed of light when war breaks out. People are hypocritical; being alive is the most important.”

Xu Xin: ”What I’m considering is that we need to expand and annex with our treehouse as the core.”

Xu Xin’s plan is actually very simple, starting to annex other survivors around.

Previously, he discussed with Ji Chaoyang whether to have peaceful interactions with other areas for a while, rapidly developing with the information gap. But now it seems that all areas have someone gathering information about the impending conflict between the regions.

In other words, the information gap they imagined doesn’t exist.

Why pretend to be peaceful? Just openly share this information with the entire district and start the confrontation!

The scope of expansion includes not only people from other areas but also people from the same area.

Xu Xin: ”Now that the treehouse has functional tendencies, we should organize people with the same functional tendencies together.”

Right now, the people in their area are too scattered. It seems like each person is only separated by a treehouse from another area, but that’s the initial treehouse distribution.

Now, the original ten thousand people in area 188 have dwindled to only three thousand, meaning most positions essentially have no survivors, just a long-dead dried-up trunk.

Being too scattered makes it impossible to help each other in dangerous situations; they should gather everyone into a few groups. And these groups should be divided based on function.

For example, Li Wenxi is inclined towards mining and smelting, so let’s transplant all treehouses inclined towards the smelter into Li Wenxi’s protective zone, making their treehouses parasitic to Li Wenxi’s treehouse, under her control, and produce together.

Qi Xuefei is skilled in pharmaceuticals, so as before, organize a group similar to ’Helping the World,’ but this time, all members must transplant their treehouses into her zone for control. The main treehouse completely controls the parasitic treehouses, without the management issues from last time.

Wang Lei’s treehouse functions as a kitchen, so have him gather a group of chefs to provide better food for everyone.

Zhao Xiaochuan added a plantation house, so let all inclined to planting come to his zone, specializing in cultivating.

As for Xu Xin himself, he hasn’t considered his tendency yet.

He actually wishes to gather some strong individuals from other areas, ideally those like these explorers with special abilities, used for area protection and external expansion.

Of course, even though it’s expansion, there’s no need to force the same area people, just guide them.

Tell them that transplanting gives them explorer protection and access to stronger resources and equipment. If they’re unwilling, then forget it. A normal treehouse has a protective zone; not everyone’s treehouse needs to become parasitic.

As for people from outside areas, don’t be so polite. Don’t transplant, then die, it’s simple.

Xu Xin shared his ideas with them.

Wen Guixin: ”I support Xu Xin! Regarding this, I also have some news!”

Wen Guixin started describing the events she encountered today.

It turns out she has already killed another survivor.

According to her, she initially wanted to communicate very amicably, and that male survivor warmly invited her into his treehouse. Given her ability, she naturally wasn’t afraid of him doing anything, and she wanted to know about other areas, so she agreed.

As they chatted, the man’s true colors were revealed, and he wanted to get rough with her.

This man lives day by day in this world, and suddenly finds a woman, a beauty at that, easily lured into his house, so naturally his wicked thoughts arose.

But he chose the wrong target; the woman he tried to assault has fighting ability that even Xu Xin, who ranks first among all survivors, feels inferior to.

The end result was unsurprising; Wen Guixin easily killed this person.

Xu Xin didn’t know if Wen Guixin was telling the truth; she might have taken initiative to kill, but it’s irrelevant, what’s done is done.

Directly killing encountered outsiders, while not the ideal method, is undoubtedly the most hassle-free method.

”His treehouse had upgraded all its decorations. He’s really dumb, giving each function area a little, which changes nothing.” Wen Guixin complained, then added, ”But after I brought the treehouse seed back and replanted it, I found the originally enhanced points had been reset.”

Ji Chaoyang: ”Oh? So after transplanting a treehouse into a parasitic one, the augmented points are cleared?”

Xu Xin was also somewhat surprised.

After adding points himself before, he tried to have the enhancement points refunded.

He even tried to put away all the decorations, bringing the decor score to zero. Without any decor score, there shouldn’t be any amplification points on the wooden sign, right?

Unfortunately, while the amplification effect was indeed gone, the remaining allocatable amplification was not zero; it became negative.

Even if the decorations were removed, the previously chosen amplifications remained. If the decor score was increased again at this point, the amplification points would automatically be added to the previously chosen options.

In other words, once you choose an amplification option for a treehouse, it becomes fixed and cannot be changed or reverted.

However, after the treehouse was transplanted, those fixed amplification points got wiped.

But the cost of wiping these points is quite high.

”...But this is much more flexible,” Xu Xin muttered to himself.

Wen Guixin said what Xu Xin wanted to say: ”Exactly, it’s equivalent to wiping amplification points. So, we actually don’t need to worry about the function division of other survivors. After transplanting their treehouses, the amplification points can be returned! By then, they can re-choose the functional area, and just let them choose the functional area you all desire.”

Li Wenxi: ”What if they don’t want to? I mean, if someone originally likes farming, but you’re forcing them to mine...”

Wen Guixin: ”Don’t want to? People in the same area can be lenient, just leave them be. For people from different areas, just cut them off and see if they want to cooperate!”

Zhao Xiaochuan: ”Yikes—Fiery sister, maybe we should first figure out each other’s locations? Brother Xin and Brother Chaoyang are so close, we might not be far either. If conditions allow, we can send someone to the area they want. Besides, if you make someone who can’t cook a chef, I wouldn’t want to eat their food!”

The three of them no longer called Ji Chaoyang ”Boss Ji,” but instead started calling him ”Brother Chaoyang.” Maybe Ji Chaoyang had told them not to call him that anymore.

Wen Guixin: ”Hmm... Seems to make sense. Indeed, tasty food is important.”

Zhao Xiaochuan: ”What tasty food? The point is to let professionals do professional things!”

Xu Xin: ”But if it’s someone from a different area, I agree with Wen Guixin. People from outside the area should either be eliminated or made dependent—no third option. The longer we delay, the more variables there are, so just make them dependent right away.”

Xu Xin pondered for a moment and continued: ”As for sending people, I think I can handle that.”

Xu Xin thought of using alchemy to create a [Coordinate].

If we place a coordinate within everyone’s protective zone, and allow teleportation between coordinates, then meeting each other would be very easy, even easier than going to the neighboring treehouse!

He could reach the neighboring treehouse in ten minutes with the help of the Silver King. Most survivors now don’t have any means of transportation, and a few kilometers would take one or two hours even running.

Just not sure if these coordinates can be traded. If they can be traded, it would be much simpler.

Wen Guixin: ”How will you solve it?”

Xu Xin: ”Teleporters, I can make something like teleporters.”

Qin Yunlong: ”Teleporter?!”

Wang Lei: ”Wow! Brother Xin is awesome!”

Li Wenxi: ”Huh?”

Even Ji Chaoyang was surprised and quickly asked, ”Xu Xin, are there any restrictions on the teleporters you can create? Like a limit on the number of people per day, or a distance limit, or a cooldown time after each use?”

Xu Xin thought for a moment, there shouldn’t be any, right? At least, the introduction didn’t mention it.

He answered, ”The introduction simply states that as long as I give permission, anyone can freely travel between coordinates. Oh, this teleporter is called a [Coordinate], but it requires a lot of materials. One coordinate requires forty units of blue-level materials. I’ll send the coordinate introduction to you all.”

Xu Xin sent the coordinate introduction in the [Explorers] group. He no longer planned to hide his ability.

[Coordinate (Blue): Can be placed on any flat surface, allowing any allies or neutral units to teleport between coordinates with the maker’s permission. Requires Wood (Blue) *10, Steel Block (Blue) *10, Universal Alchemy Materials (Blue) *10]

Wang Lei: ”Steel blocks? Universal Alchemy Materials? What are these high-level things...”

Wen Guixin: ”Is this Xu Xin’s ability? Alchemy materials? Alchemy? Sounds powerful.”

Qi Xuefei: ”So Xu Xin is an alchemist, no wonder these alchemical items have such magical effects.”

Xu Xin was speechless, as if the instant cure pills she made weren’t just as magical.

Qin Yunlong: ”That’s a lot of blue-level resources, but the effect is definitely worth all these materials!”

Li Wenxi: ”These materials... I have no problem with the steel blocks, it depends on your universal alchemy materials.”

Hearing the rich lady speak, Xu Xin immediately said, ”Universal Alchemy Materials require Iron Bars (Blue) and Black Gold (Blue).”

Li Wenxi: ”Then there’s no problem, if you need it, just make it! I’ll provide you with the materials!”

...Just waiting for the rich lady to say that!

Xu Xin showed a relieved smile.

The material issue for the coordinates was solved, and with the coordinates, future operations would be much more convenient!
