Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 209: Chapter 194: Charge Towards the Treehouse!_2

Gu Honghao: ”As long as she’s alive, I don’t care if she’s second-hand, Fei’Er will always be my goddess!”

Yin Yuan: ”Aren’t you disgusting?! How could Fei’Er let someone like you into the group?”

Miao Dak: ”Enough, stop with this nonsense. No matter what, Lou Fei’Er is in the top five of the area; she should be fine. She can’t reply now, but we’ve reached the scheduled meeting time, so let’s talk about today’s situation first. She can see it later when she checks the records.”

There are four people in total. Xu Xin had looked at the leaderboard of their 187th district’s jungle exploration activities—none of these individuals ranked in the top ten, and without a blue-level watch, they couldn’t communicate outside their treehouses.

No wonder they had to report at the same time.

He checked further and found they were all within the top hundred and had acquired a piece of green-level equipment, which included a watch to keep track of time, allowing them to return to the treehouse on time.

He flipped back further and found Lou Fei’Er’s previous conversations in the grove.

Yin Yuan: ”I just got back, spent the whole day out there, and circled the reserve edge for a long time without finding a treehouse. I even tried walking out, only to find mutant vines sprouting up! Could there be no treehouse around me?”

Lou Fei’Er: ”I’ve already got one treehouse seed and now found a second one. You guys are too slow! Once I kill this treehouse’s owner, I can transplant this treehouse near mine!”

Yin Yuan: ”Huh? Are you talking about that purple-level treehouse you just mentioned? Isn’t it extremely strong? I’ve never heard anyone in our area having a purple-level treehouse. Don’t be reckless; being enemies with such a strong person is not wise!”

Lou Fei’Er: ”What’s there to fear? So what if he’s strong? Ever heard of using wit, not force? The last one was easily taken care of by me. Going head-to-head is the dumbest thing to do.”

Yin Yuan: ”Well... okay, just be careful, alright?”

At that time, only Yin Yuan was talking to her; the others hadn’t returned to their treehouses yet.

Scrolling up, Xu Xin noticed that the group only had records from last night and today; evidently, this group was created just last night. It mainly contained Lou Fei’Er introducing the tasks of their [Felling Treehouse Squad], nothing much to note.

At this moment, someone unexpected spoke in the group.

Lou Fei’Er: ”You guys chat, I’ve got something to do here, won’t join in.”

Hmm?

Did Lou Fei’Er just speak?

Xu Xin immediately glanced at the map. In a yet unexplored dark area, a red dot remained motionless.

...Her watch was in his hands; communication was only possible upon returning to her treehouse. So her location now was precisely where her treehouse was!

Xu Xin quickly noted down this location and stood up.

”Let’s go, Silver King, Mimi, time to work!”

Xu Xin descended the treehouse with the three beasts, and Afu flew down from beneath the tree canopy to join them.

”Consort, you don’t need to come with us, stay home with your kids, and keep an eye on the house for us!”

The consort, poking half her head from the burrow, let out a sound and retreated back.

Mounting the wolf, Xu Xin headed swiftly towards Lou Fei’Er’s treehouse location.

The jungle remained dense, but Silver King wove through it nimbly, encountering no obstacles.

Xu Xin stroked the large tail of Keke, who leaned against his leg, his gaze becoming cold.

Kill you once, and I can do it again!

When Ji Chaoyang told him others from different regions were enemies, he was still half-skeptical, although Ji Chaoyang had no reason to deceive him, there was a possibility of misunderstanding the information.

But this time, even outsiders, that guy named Zhang Daoguang got the information, confirming it as truth.

Since you’ve been identified as the enemy, don’t blame me for being ruthless.

”Hmm?”

Xu Xin suddenly noticed the red dot began to move, but it didn’t go far. It stopped just a few dozen meters from the treehouse and then stayed put.

”What does this mean?” Xu Xin frowned.

Gradually, he understood Lou Fei’Er’s intention.

Her inexplicable message in the group might be to inform him that she had returned to her treehouse.

Knowing her location, Xu Xin would definitely head to her treehouse to hunt her down.

And she would be lurking around the treehouse.

The treehouse could only be breached forcibly without the owner’s permission. As Xu Xin focused on the treehouse, she might seize the opportunity to launch a lethal attack!

Admittedly, it’s a good plan, but useless against Xu Xin.

Guided by the map, her position was entirely exposed to Xu Xin’s awareness.

Actually, had she not mutated, Xu Xin wouldn’t have seen her. The map classifies other survivors as neutral, not displayed. But mutated creatures are different, that red dot is too conspicuous.

Following the stream’s western direction, passing by the Black Bear Cave, the giant crocodile was still absent from the creek bottom. Advancing further, Xu Xin reached an uncharted territory, unlocking the nearby area’s map.

With no jungle obstructing the view by the stream, he easily spotted a banyan tree, towering above others growing by the stream, although not as tall as his own four-story treehouse, it was at least three stories high.

Around the banyan, most aspen trees were chopped down, with some pine and birch trees planted there.

That should be Lou Fei’Er’s treehouse.

...

Currently, Lou Fei’Er was hiding in the crown of an aspen tree near her treehouse.

She didn’t originally want to return to the treehouse, fearing Xu Xin might be waiting outside, she’d be caught the moment she returned. Yet, she had no equipment on her, and it had been proven that, even now, she was no match for that man barehanded.

This left her with no sense of security, forcing her to sneak back to see if she could craft some equipment.

Unexpectedly, that terrifying man wasn’t near her treehouse. She hurried back inside, crafted new leather armor, made a blue-level dagger, then hid in the canopy of the nearest aspen outside, waiting for the right moment.

Staying inside the treehouse wouldn’t help; that man’s weapon, for some reason, just left a few cuts on her and rendered her powerless and dazed.

It’s surely a purple-level weapon! The treehouse can’t defend against him! Hiding inside would be suicide.

Strategic wit is needed!

Lou Fei’Er held her breath, not daring to move or make a sound. She knew his hearing was extraordinary; one noise from her, and she’d be headed to the Underworld.

The tree she hid in was also by the stream, through the only available gap she peered at the winding creek.

Soon, a few figures appeared from the other side of the water.

Lou Fei’Er squinted, her crimson eyes shrank suddenly, body twitching as she barely suppressed a scream, her breathing accelerated for a second.

It’s that man, it’s Xu Xin! But what’s that?!

He’s riding a wolf?! And those behind, are those leopards? Mutant creatures?

How can that person control mutated creatures!?
