Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 212: Chapter 196: Contract - Mutant Pills_2

But to touch her while she’s in a coma, that kind of behavior is disgusting; he would never do such a thing.

Twisting the bracelet on his hand, Xu Xin looked at Mimi Silver King and Afu who were watching intently from the side and smiled, ”What, do you two want to go in too?”

Silver King and Mimi both took a step back, indicating they didn’t want to, while Afu reacted the most dramatically, flying away quite a distance.

This made Xu Xin very curious.

What exactly was going on inside the bracelet to cast such a shadow on Afu? He’d have to ask Lou Fei’Er for her thoughts when she woke up.

Not knowing when she would wake up, he decided to let her stay in there for now.

Xu Xin then began to handle the treehouse.

He reached out to touch the treehouse again.

[Ordinary Small Treehouse (Blue): A treehouse formed by the growth of a banyan tree, much stronger than the lowest level treehouses. Survivors owning such a treehouse have the opportunity to become powerful figures!]

A simple introduction with no warning of the treehouse dying—it was a normally growing treehouse.

Though Lou Fei’Er had mutated and had been contracted by him, she wasn’t dead, and she still had her survivor status, so her treehouse wouldn’t enter a dying state like the two treehouses he had encountered before.

This was a claimed treehouse that could continue to grow.

That called for a different handling method.

He was actually considering whether to take out the core of this treehouse and transplant it near his treehouse or let it remain here.

If this treehouse remained in place, he could use it to keep contacting Jungle Area 187 and obtain information from the neighboring area.

He had checked the regional channels of the two parasitic-type treehouses before; although those trees were from Jungle Area 187, once planted in his sanctuary, they became regional channels and trading platforms for Area 188.

Furthermore, if the treehouse wasn’t transplanted, the surrounding area would remain an intact sanctuary, making it relatively safe. He could use this area to seek out people from the same region nearby.

Also, he didn’t currently need another large treehouse near where he lived.

”...Maybe I’ll just leave it,” Xu Xin murmured to himself.

But leaving it had its downsides; the core of that blue-level treehouse wouldn’t be his.

That certainly was a very precious resource. After all, even the core of a lowly small treehouse could produce purple-level resources, so even if this ordinary small treehouse’s core couldn’t produce higher-level resources, it would surely speed up the production of purple-level resources.

As he weighed the pros and cons, he suddenly felt a familiar sensation.

”What’s happening?”

He seemed... to be able to control this treehouse! He felt as if he had become one with it.

With a single thought, the treehouse’s roots moved, wrapped around his waist, and lifted him up.

”Yip!” Keke, still on his shoulder, was startled.

So he could really control it. Could it be because he contracted Lou Fei’Er, and by becoming her contract owner, he also owned her treehouse?

”You two, wait here,” Xu Xin said to Silver King and Mimi, then entered the treehouse with Keke. Meanwhile, Afu flew unimpeded through the window on the first floor.

As soon as he reached the first floor, he frowned.

In his impression, when girls played survival games, even if they didn’t explore, they’d at least keep their homes tidy. But this woman’s first floor was a real mess.

The first floor was cluttered with many workbenches as if Xu Xin’s treehouse’s second floor hadn’t been tidied up yet.

No, it was even messier than his had been. At least his space was bigger, making it look more sparse, and he’d align the direction of the various workbenches neatly. But her first floor was a total mess, as if everything had just been thrown in randomly.

After a careful inspection, he didn’t find any special workbenches, but there was a row of green-level backpacks. Xu Xin checked them all; they contained basic resources, many of blue level—various blue-level stones, wood, pelts, and bones were stored here.

Great stuff, confiscated.

After collecting the resources, he moved on to the second floor.

The second floor gave him a much better impression.

The whole second floor was neatly arranged. The fifty-square-meter small space looked like a cozy apartment with a kitchen, dining room, and bedroom—all kinds of functional areas were there.

He also noticed she had added lots of enhancement points to the kitchen area signs.

”Oh, a cook, huh?” Xu Xin was a bit surprised.

Just as he prepared to fiddle with this floor’s treehouse screen, Keke suddenly jumped off his shoulder and ran into the bedroom.

Xu Xin had no qualms about privacy and followed in straight away.

In the bedroom, the bed, bedside table, and various redwood furniture were very neatly arranged, making him doubt if this second and first floor were indeed used by the same person.

On the bedside table was a backpack, but Keke opened the cabinet door and dove into the bedside cabinet.

”Is there something in the cabinet?” Xu Xin tilted his head, looking at Keke searching deeper inside the bedside cabinet.

”Yip!” Keke pulled a green-level backpack from a compartment and offered it to Xu Xin as if presenting a treasure.

”It’s not nice to rummage through others’ things, you know.” Xu Xin patted Keke’s small head and started checking the contents in both backpacks he picked up.

”Hmm, this is...”

The backpack on the bedside contained some fruits and what seemed to be dried fruits she had presumably obtained through drying, looking quite like the kind she would snack on before sleeping.

But what surprised Xu Xin wasn’t these but the backpack that Keke had pulled from the cabinet.

He took out a small black bottle from the backpack, like a tiny medicine vial. The bottle was entirely black, and when he took it out, he could clearly feel something inside it and could hear the sound.

Pills?

He opened the bottle, revealing only one red pill left, which he poured into his palm.

[Mutation Pill (Blue): A small pill that enhances a survivor’s specific ability, enabling them to acquire latent mutation powers. Survivors can control whether to activate these mutation powers after ingestion.

Activating mutation powers grants 1 hour of significant physical enhancement and restores all injuries. It automatically activates upon receiving a fatal injury. After strength wears off, there is a 24-hour weakness period after which mutation powers can be used again.

Note: Once mutation powers are activated, the survivor becomes a mutated being. Mutation is irreversible, so choose carefully.

What are you waiting for? Swallow this pill, and you’ll gain the extraordinary powers of a mutated being, reaching the pinnacle of life!]

This is it! This is what he had been searching for all along!

The Mutation Pill, capable of inducing mutation in survivors!

It can trigger an hour of mutation power while healing all injuries!

Moreover, the pill enhances a survivor’s specific ability even without activating mutation powers.

No wonder Lou Fei’Er’s agility was so high, allowing her to evade his large-scale lance attacks continuously without mutation—thanks to this little pill!
