Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 237: Chapter 218: Xu Xin’s Explosive Acting (4,700 words! I’m on fire today! I want votes!)

”Gu Honghao...” The person pulled their head back, seemingly checking the name Gu Honghao.

Xu Xin also lowered his raised hands, glancing sideways at Keke, who was poking his head out from behind the tree. Keke immediately withdrew again.

A few seconds later, the man in the treehouse reappeared at the window.

”What’s the name of the leader who saved your life in our area, and how many people are left in our area now?”

This guy is really cautious.

But what he didn’t expect was that Xu Xin knew all this information.

”It was Boss Zhang Daoguang who gave me a plant heart fragment and saved my life. We have over eight hundred people left in our area, all saved by Boss Zhang Daoguang,” Xu Xin immediately replied.

Thanks to Lou Fei’Er’s influence, his acting and cunning had improved a lot too.

Listening to these words, the man’s expression visibly relaxed, and he put away his bow and arrow.

”You’ve run quite far, passing through an entire treehouse area.”

”It’s been so long since I’ve seen anyone in person. I really wanted to meet someone,” Xu Xin showed a relaxed smile, leaning against the tree behind him. ”Ah, at last, someone from my own area.”

”Not just you, it’s my first time seeing someone from the same area too.” The man continued speaking from the window on the first floor, but showed no sign of coming down. ”There are very few like you daring to travel long distances at this stage. Even I don’t dare.”

”Being alone for too long is really unbearable. I even wanted to greet the survivor in the treehouse from that other area to the north, but then I remembered Boss Daoguang’s words that people from different areas are all enemies, so I could only run this way.”

Xu Xin exhaled deeply, probing, ”Brother, your treehouse looks huge from afar. I guessed you must be a top-ranking individual from our area. Are you one of the strong individuals on the rankings?”

”You should have heard my name. I’m Ma Hongwei.” Ma Hongwei raised his wrist to show his watch.

Ma Hongwei... Xu Xin vaguely remembered this name. Names that left an impression on him must have appeared in the top ten of various rankings in Area 187.

”Ma Hongwei... a top-ten big shot!” Xu Xin opened his eyes wide, feigning a surprised expression.

”Haha, you’re too kind.” Ma Hongwei’s face showed a proud smile but immediately frowned, ”Wait, how did someone who’s not in the top ten know that people from different areas are enemies? Boss Daoguang only told that to those in the top ten of past ranking lists. Are you lying? Are you in the top ten too? What do you want to hide?”

Ma Hongwei’s gaze sharpened.

... This guy is really suspicious.

”What are you saying, big shot? I hang out with Lou Fei’Er, it was Sister Fei’Er who told me!” Xu Xin looked aggrieved. He felt as if Lou Fei’Er had possessed him, his acting skills surging.

Honestly, this feeling was quite nice.

”Lou Fei’Er? Oh... you say Lou Fei’Er told you, let me confirm.” Ma Hongwei lifted his left hand, swiped his watch, and projected a small screen, seemingly contacting Lou Fei’Er.

Xu Xin squinted his eyes, thinking if he shot an explosive bolt through the window now, could he kill him?

But seeing the rows of treehouse ballistas hidden in the tree canopy, he abandoned this idea. As soon as he acted, those ballistas would unleash a barrage of arrows, and even if the other side died, he might not survive.

...

In Xu Xin’s main treehouse, Lou Fei’Er was lying on the couch, bored, browsing the regional channel and her small group, chatting with a bunch of survivors.

Although Xu Xin asked her to contact the top ten in the area, trying to determine their locations, she was still weak from recovery, had no motivation, and just wanted to relax and chat.

She had never contacted this group of top ten people before, and now she didn’t know what to say.

”Hmm... I’ll do it in the afternoon. In the afternoon, I’ll try to probe their locations. I’ll do it in the afternoon.” She turned over on the couch, lying on her stomach, and continued browsing the regional channel.

”This couch is really comfortable. When Xu Xin comes back, let him make one for my parasitic treehouse too,” Lou Fei’Er muttered to herself.

Beside her, Mimi, who was responsible for supervising Lou Fei’Er, stretched lazily, yawned, and lay down to lick her paws.

At this moment, Lou Fei’Er suddenly received a private message.

”Huh? Ma Hongwei? This name is a bit familiar... isn’t he one of the top ten in several events before?” Lou Fei’Er was a little surprised, didn’t expect him to contact her first before she even did.

”Lou Fei’Er, there’s a person here named Gu Honghao claiming to be one of your subordinates, calling you Sister Fei’Er, saying you told him people from different areas are enemies, and those from the same area are partners. Is that true?”

Reading this message, Lou Fei’Er paused for two seconds.

She did mention this in the small group chat, but...

Gu Honghao?

Wasn’t he just talking in the small group? How could he have instantly run to someone else’s treehouse? He doesn’t even have a blue-level watch to communicate outside.

Plus, Sister Fei’Er, when did that disgusting guy ever call her Sister Fei’Er, often Fi’Er Fi’Er, his mind filled with filthy thoughts, utterly disgusting.
