Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 247: Chapter 223: Has Qi Xuefei Had an Accident? (4200 words!)_2

”That works too! Just as well, I want to see how you do alchemy!” Li Wenxi was somewhat eager.

”What alchemy? It’s just a name, actually it’s almost identical to crafting.”

During their chat, Silver King’s speed remained fast, swiftly navigating through the jungle.

Xu Xin kept observing the blood patterns on Silver King while talking.

After leaving that area, the blood patterns on Silver King indeed gradually faded and have just now returned to normal.

Is there really something wrong with that area?

Xu Xin looked back, in the desolate landscape, only Li Yajun’s treehouse still had a lush and green appearance.

It seems that when returning, it’d be necessary to thoroughly scour this area.

In the jungle, it was still uniformly desolate; riding Silver King, Xu Xin had practically traversed this whole region, where apart from treehouses, there were only barren trees and a carpet of dried leaves, not even a single large animal in sight.

When the jungle had just shed leaves, Xu Xin felt it was quite fine, the open view and being able to see treehouses nearby clearly was refreshing.

But seeing it more now, he feels compared to the once lush and green jungle, such bleak scenery more easily stirs feelings of melancholy and loneliness.

But this could be a good thing, as it might increase the likelihood of resources from survivors in the same area relying on them.

Currently, the two were already quite close to the northern treehouse, which was the one west of Qi Xuefei’s, probably two or three kilometers away.

This vicinity was still a barren area with no resource zones, containing white resources mixed with specks of green.

Li Wenxi, leaning against Xu Xin, opened her watch and projected a small screen, checking the messages in the group.

”Ah, Ji Chaoyang has already arrived!” Li Wenxi exclaimed.

”Ah? So fast? Did he meet Qi Xuefei?” Xu Xin was somewhat surprised.

”Hmm, seems not, but he’s already confirmed to have entered Qi Xuefei’s sanctuary! Moreover, he’s brought along a survivor from region 187!” Li Wenxi suddenly felt a bit embarrassed, ”The two of us are clearly two people, yet still slower by a lot...”

Brought a survivor from region 187?

He’s already resolved a local threat!

This efficiency is indeed much higher than theirs. No choice, the two of them not only lingered at Li Wenxi’s treehouse for a long time, but he also dallied at Ma Hongwei’s in the south for a while, not to mention being delayed at Li Yajun’s, certainly slower than Ji Chaoyang.

Silver King didn’t need him to steer, so there’s no need to keep eyes fixed on the road ahead either, thus he opened his watch screen to review the [Explorer]’s log.

Just a few minutes ago, Ji Chaoyang had spoken in the group.

Ji Chaoyang: ”I’ve already solved this survivor from region 187 to the east of Qi Xuefei, his treehouse has neither armor nor crossbow, it’s easy to handle. Moreover, he’s quite cautious, agreed right away to dig up the treehouse and follow me. Now I am leading him towards Qi Xuefei’s treehouse.”

Wang Lei: ”Wow, Brother Chaoyang is really impressive! Already helped Qi Xuefei resolve one? I haven’t even arrived yet!”

Wen Guixin: ”? Didn’t I tell you to run? How can we meet if you walk like this?”

Wang Lei: ”Ah, I found a cave halfway, wanted to see what resources were inside, dug for half a day, found nothing, wasted quite some time.”

Li Wenxi, hearing Wang Lei say so, promptly spoke to the watch, ”Leave the stone and mineral resources to me, you don’t need to waste more time on this.”

Zhao Xiaochuan: ”Exactly, Beauty Wenxi surely has skills in this area, just a glance from her is more effective than you digging for half a day, what are you wasting your efforts for?”

Wang Lei: ”But... Sister Wenxi can’t come to my side either!”

Xu Xin: ”Tonight, I should be able to complete the coordinates. At that time, communication between our locations should become possible.”

Qin Yunlong: ”That’s great! My brother and I have just met! Right here at the foot of the mountain with the crooked-necked tree. Speaking of Wen Guixin, why hasn’t she arrived yet?”

Wen Guixin: ”Huh? I’m at the foot of the mountain too? Are you to the east?”

Qin Yunlong: ”...West.”

Wen Guixin: ”Then I’m coming right over!”

Zhao Xiaochuan: ”...Envious!”

Xu Xin realized, despite so many speaking on the region channel, Ji Chaoyang even said he entered Qi Xuefei’s sanctuary, yet Qi Xuefei still hadn’t replied with anything.

”What’s going on?” Xu Xin frowned, a sense of foreboding rising in him, ”Has something happened to Qi Xuefei?”

”Right,” Li Wenxi also appeared worried, ”What’s happening, why hasn’t Sister Xuefei spoken, I sent her a private message, but there’s no reply.”

With squinted eyes, Xu Xin pondered.

The eastern danger has been resolved by Ji Chaoyang. According to Qi Xuefei herself, no green areas were visible for about ten kilometers around the north and south, meaning the north and south shouldn’t pose much threat, those treehouses were long dead.

So, if she encountered danger, there is only one possibility.

Xu Xin looked towards the double-layered treehouse less than a kilometer from them.

Then his pupils constricted.

He could vaguely see that this treehouse was equipped with many treehouse crossbows!

”Silver King, speed up!”

Unexpected! This treehouse unexpectedly has so many treehouse crossbows mounted!

A blunder!

Upon seeing it’s a two-tiered treehouse, he assumed the survivor wasn’t strong, just an ordinary one.

But he forgot that the number of treehouse tiers greatly depends on initial luck!

Some people with poor luck can’t find resource zones, nor grow higher-tier treehouses, but it doesn’t mean their later activities are inferior!

Thus, even an owner of a two-tiered treehouse isn’t necessarily weak! Moreover, in their region, it is full of strong individuals, making it even likelier for this person to be a strong survivor!

A person able to craft treehouse crossbows must at least have obtained a silver treasure chest during jungle exploration, in region 188 there are only nine such survivors, the nine members of [Explorer]!

Of course, he might have purchased from other members of region 187 like Li Yajun did, but knowing the survival style of region 187 is unwilling to assist each other, it’s unlikely he could’ve bought crossbows from others.

Not to mention purchasing so many, mounting a full treehouse with crossbows! This is very probably a skill he unlocked from a silver treasure chest himself!

Under Xu Xin’s discernment, these crossbows only emitted a green glow.

Fortunately, they’re green-grade crossbows, not excessively powerful.

”So many crossbows!” Li Wenxi also saw the full view of the treehouse ahead and immediately held onto Xu Xin’s arm to prevent being thrown off by Silver King, exclaiming, ”It’s more than the crossbows on my treehouse!”

Indeed! This number of crossbows almost matches the fully armed setup of Lou Fei’Er’s treehouse!

Approach carefully...

Xu Xin instructed Silver King to halt several hundred meters away, then dismounted.

The prior concern persists. Silver King might be recognized as an enemy unit by crossbows from other regional survivors. If automatic shooting hasn’t been set it’s fine, if it has with so many crossbows, they’d be faced with a simultaneous barrage!

”Stay here, I’ll go check.” Xu Xin halted Li Wenxi’s intent to dismount, tugging Keke, who had jumped onto his shoulder, back onto the wolf’s back.

”No! I’m going too!” Li Wenxi didn’t follow his advice this time, directly getting off Silver King, grasping Xu Xin’s arm, ”Sister Xuefei previously said she’d check the west, isn’t that over our side! Now she’s lost contact, it must be related to the survivor in this treehouse!”

”Yip!” Keke also called, indicating it would go too.

Though Li Wenxi was nervous and worried, she deliberately lowered her voice, considering the few hundred meters to the target, fearing they’d detect disturbances on their side.

”...Alright, but stay close, no running about, no acting alone, understood?” Xu Xin sternly instructed her, then turned to Keke, ”Same goes for you, stay put, no shouting, got it!”

Keke might foresee certain dangers, bringing it along could be beneficial.

”Yip!”

”Mm! I understand, I’ll follow you, let’s hurry!”
