Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 210: Chapter 195: Lou Fei’Er Who Lost Her Power

Xu Xin arrived under Lou Fei’Er’s treehouse.

He had been aware of Lou Fei’Er among the trees not just because of the red dot on the map. The blue light leaking through the gaps in the canopy was so obvious that it was hard for him not to notice.

Is she wearing a full set of blue armor?

Must be leather armor.

Honestly, the stealth function of leather armor is quite impressive. With his current hearing, being so close, he couldn’t hear Lou Fei’Er’s breathing or heartbeat once she donned the armor. It really conceals quite well.

Xu Xin decided not to pay attention to Lou Fei’Er for the moment. Lou Fei’Er could see his actions, and any attack from him now would be detected and dodged by her, so he might as well wait for her to attack and counter her move.

He began to examine the treehouse in front of him.

This was the first time he truly saw a blue-level treehouse.

This type of treehouse is planted in green-level soil. It initially has two layers and is now three layers, with each layer being about fifty square meters. If Xu Xin’s treehouse is like an aerial villa, this blue-level treehouse is comparable to a decent loft apartment.

Xu Xin touched the treehouse. Although he wore a treehouse watch bound to this treehouse, he still couldn’t control it. The height of the first story of the treehouse was seven or eight meters, so it was also difficult for him to enter through the treehouse’s windows.

In this view, obtaining the core of a treehouse without the owner’s permission is actually very difficult. He simply had no safe way to enter it.

Perhaps he could destroy the bottom of the treehouse and crawl inside through the breach, just like he did with those two dying treehouses before. But, the premise is that the treehouse has no owner, or the owner is not nearby.

Otherwise, the owner could simply manipulate the treehouse’s roots to prevent him from climbing the treehouse.

Of course, he could choose not to enter and directly destroy or excavate to ruin the treehouse. But from Lou Fei’Er’s experience, doing so won’t get the treehouse core, just a parasitic treehouse seed and some ordinary resources.

...In this view, the simplest way to obtain a treehouse core is to lure the treehouse owner out and eliminate them, or incapacitate them, and then enter the treehouse to extract the core. Alternatively, gain the owner’s consent to invite you into the treehouse and collect the core.

Getting consent is difficult. Once the treehouse core is collected, the treehouse would die. The owner would have to follow him back to his treehouse and live in a dead parasitic treehouse under his control.

To gather a large number of treehouse cores and mass-produce purple-level resources is still a long way off.

But then again, he’s been under the treehouse for quite a while, deliberately putting on an absorbed look while observing the treehouse, so why hasn’t Lou Fei’Er made a move yet?

He glanced at the hidden canopy where Lou Fei’Er was with the corner of his eye, frowning.

If she didn’t make a move, Xu Xin might have to take action himself.

Though troublesome, with Mimi beside him, he didn’t have to worry about Lou Fei’Er really escaping. Her current speed, although comparable to the Silver King, was still far behind Mimi’s burst of speed.

Escaping under Mimi’s maximum speed was basically impossible.

At that moment, hiding in the tree canopy, Lou Fei’Er didn’t dare to move. She covered her mouth tightly, having completely lost the courage to fight.

With Silver King, Mimi, and Afu, three mutated beasts, by Xu Xin’s side, if she were to face them one-on-one, she might have some chance. But with these three plus the unfathomable Xu Xin, she lost even the courage to launch a sneak attack.

Moreover, the main issue was that the adorable, seemingly non-combatant little panda nestled in the man’s arms had inexplicably been watching her hiding spot all the time.

Clearly so cute and weak, yet its gaze made her whole body chill, causing her to tremble slightly.

She could already feel the force exerted on her was gradually fading away.

Before long, the power that resurrected her would completely leave her body, and she would fall into who knows how long of a weakened state, becoming a weak person incapable of even holding a chicken.

By then, even ordinary people could easily take advantage of her, let alone this person in front of her.

If discovered by him, she basically had no chance of survival.

She didn’t want to die! She wanted to live!

What should she do?

Take a desperate gamble?

But the adorable panda kept tilting its head and staring at her, with a curious look that made it hard for her to muster the courage to attack. She had the feeling that the man in front of her had already discovered her location.

Making a move might be equivalent to death.

They stayed in this standoff for a long time, and as she felt the strength in her body waning, her once agile limbs grew heavy, and she was beginning to struggle to keep her eyes open.

So tired, so sleepy, her body wouldn’t move...

Is this the aftermath...

She was losing her last shred of hope.

If I beg for mercy, will he let me go?

No, he won’t. He has already killed me once...

Completely doomed.

”Hmm?” Xu Xin heard the relatively rapid breathing and rustling of leaves and something rubbing from the canopy of the tree where Lou Fei’Er hid.

Is she about to make a move?

Xu Xin deliberately left his back exposed to her, always ready to pull out the long spear from his backpack, planning to sweep it across her if she launched a surprise attack, cutting her in two and eradicating the threat entirely.

Suddenly, the treetop shook, and a limp body fell from the canopy, landing on the ground with a thud.

”Ying!” Keke immediately scrambled onto Xu Xin’s shoulder, hanging behind him, poking its little head out to look over there.

Instinctively, Xu Xin pulled out the long spear as if he was about to swing it, but was surprised to see Lou Fei’Er lying motionless on the ground, dressed in blue-grade leather armor with a blue-grade dagger at her waist.

Her body appeared completely powerless, lying there limply like a puddle of mud.

The Silver King and Mimi were also startled; the Silver King bared its teeth at Lou Fei’Er on the ground, emitting a low growl, while Mimi’s fur stood on end, seemingly about to pounce!

”What’s going on?” Xu Xin squinted his eyes and didn’t move forward. Instead, he pulled out a well-prepared crossbow with an explosive bolt, aiming it at Lou Fei’Er on the ground.

He couldn’t believe that she would suddenly lose consciousness and fall from the canopy; this was likely her ploy to lure him over and then ambush him!

Nice plan, but he wouldn’t fall for it!

Xu Xin was about to pull the trigger on Lou Fei’Er on the ground when Keke suddenly jumped off his shoulder and ran over there.

”Danger! You...” Xu Xin tried to grab it but ended up catching nothing, as Keke quickly dashed over.

This little guy, not having signed a contract with him, was completely unlike Silver King Mimi and Afu, who were so obedient!

Even Mimi, in the beginning, although it wouldn’t let him touch it, was still very obedient, doing whatever he said, unlike Keke, who liked to act on its own.

However, since it dared to go over, it indicated that Lou Fei’Er, who had fallen to the ground, was truly no longer dangerous.

Glancing at the map, Xu Xin’s eyes widened slightly.

The red dot representing Lou Fei’Er on the map still existed but had dimmed considerably, and had become so faint that it was even less than a rabbit?

This...

How did she suddenly become so weak?

”...Weak state?” Xu Xin suddenly thought of a state he had experienced before, ”A prolonged period of weakness?”

He had previously taken an unmodified pill given by Qi Xuefei, experiencing two hours of weakness. During that time, even walking was difficult, and even a gentle pounce from Keke could knock him down.

He just laid in bed and slept it off back then. This Lou Fei’Er was probably in a weakened state as well.

At this moment, Keke was crouched in front of the already unconscious Lou Fei’Er, poking her face with its little paw. Lou Fei’Er’s head wobbled under Keke’s push, clearly in a completely powerless state, which truly set Xu Xin’s mind at ease.

It seemed she really lost consciousness.

Putting his weapon away, Xu Xin stepped forward.

He was very interested in this ability of Lou Fei’Er. As compensation for resurrection, weakness was hardly anything.

Moreover, in his opinion, benign mutations like Silver King, Mimi, and Lou Fei’Er, retaining consciousness, were essentially equivalent to immortality.

Lou Fei’Er was wearing a full set of leather armor, tightly wrapping her previously almost exposed body without revealing a single inch, but Xu Xin could still see some blood-red patterns on her hands and collarbone.

She was still in a mutated state, a mutated creature, but...

The patterns seemed to be less dense than before and had dimmed quite a bit. If before they were blood red, now they were the dark red of blood that had been left for some time.

And the two finger-thick red lines on her face had disappeared completely now.

What was happening? Could mutated creatures not only evolve but also devolve?

Afu suddenly flew up from Mimi’s back, flapping its wings and landed on Lou Fei’Er. Silver King Mimi also no longer displayed hostility and walked over.

One human and four beasts were all observing this mutated human lying on the ground.

Silver King and Mimi were simply startled earlier. Although their perception wasn’t as sharp as Keke’s, they were nonetheless very sensitive, and an unexpected emergence of danger naturally put them on alert.

However, now the attitude of the two beasts had completely changed.

The Silver King gently nudged Lou Feifei’s slightly tilted head with its paw to straighten it. Mimi lowered its head, licking the trickles of blood on Lou Fei’Er’s face from the fall, looking almost gentle.

This gentleness had never been shown to Xu Xin before; even now, although Mimi allowed Xu Xin to pet it, it remained haughty, as Xu Xin was seeing this gentle side of Mimi for the first time.

Their behavior left Xu Xin bewildered.

What’s going on?

Why did it seem like she was more popular than he was?

Could it be because of her state, making her highly appealing to the mutated beasts?

He had to know, mutated beasts were their main enemies in the future! If he could gain favor with mutated beasts...

”Hiss—”

Now, Xu Xin looked at Lou Fei’Er as though she were a treasure!
