Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 214: Chapter 198: Why am I so obedient!

”Ying!” Keke already sensed that the person in front of her was no longer a threat and was now one of their own, so she waved her little paw in greeting.

”Eh...” Lou Fei’Er’s mind was still in a state of extreme sensitivity, and Keke’s sudden call made her body twitch.

Is this... that little panda? The little panda that had been staring at her spot earlier?

Looking closer, this little one was really adorable.

”Hi, hello there.” Her voice was hoarse as she greeted Keke.

”Ying!”

This treehouse is so big, it must be that four-story treehouse. Since they had already brought her back to the main treehouse, it indicated that this man probably wouldn’t kill her for now. This allowed her to breathe a sigh of relief.

Turning her head slightly to look around, she saw the Silver King and Mimi lying in the corner, also observing her.

For some reason, these two once terrifying beasts now made her feel a hint of closeness.

These two big fluffy creatures must be really comfortable to hug...

Huh? What exactly is going on?

Why am I having this mindset? I didn’t even like animals before!

”Stand up first,” Xu Xin said.

”Oh...” Hearing Xu Xin’s words, Lou Fei’Er tried to stand up using both her hands and legs, but she couldn’t muster any strength. In the end, she stood up little by little with the help of the sofa armrest.

She didn’t release a sigh of relief until she managed to stand up, only to almost stumble and fall again.

... Wait! Something’s wrong!

Lou Fei’Er suddenly realized something was off.

Why am I being so obedient!

He told me to stand up, so I did — and it took so much effort!

What’s happening?

She looked at Xu Xin on the sofa with terror, who had an amused expression: ”You, you, you! What did you do to me?”

Xu Xin pointed to the other end of the sofa and said, ”Don’t get agitated, sit down first before speaking.”

Lou Fei’Er instinctively wanted to sit down but bit her lip hard to resist.

But doing so made her feel extremely uncomfortable, even her heart resisted, as if a demon was whispering in her ear: ”Sit down, sit down...”

She felt like a crazed fan finally meeting her idol she had worshipped, the idol smiled and offered a handshake, hug, autograph, and photo, she screamed inside, but refused verbally because she froze.

... This feeling is unbearable!

What’s going on!

Why! Why am I reacting like this to his words!

Am I going insane!

In fact, even Xu Xin himself didn’t know that the mutant beast contract was a kind of contract that directly affected the mind. After all, it was crafted using materials from advanced mutant creatures, this bloodline suppression made the contract party comply from the heart, not just control the body.

”Sit down,” Xu Xin commanded.

Lou Fei’Er finally couldn’t bear it any longer. Her legs went weak, and she sat on the sofa.

So comfortable...

No! Why does listening to him make me feel good!

Lou Fei’Er felt she was going crazy, her face showing an annoyed expression: ”You...”

”Tell me, how do you feel now?” Xu Xin wasn’t quite sure, was her behavior genuine, or was she pretending? Did she know she was already contracted by him?

”I...” Lou Fei’Er opened her mouth and eventually confessed her feelings, ”Just feeling very close to you, wanting to do whatever you say...”

”Oh?” Xu Xin squinted at Lou Fei’Er, whose face was red down to her neck.

Lou Fei’Er couldn’t endure being stared at, her face flushed red, she weakly slapped the sofa in frustration, ”Why have I become like this! What did you do to me!”

Her hoarse voice had somewhat recovered.

Finding herself in such a passive situation, she no longer cared for her once-prideful acting skills, she questioned him directly.

”Ying!” Keke was startled by her shouting, sticking her tongue out and making a face at her.

... This little creature is quite cute.

”Didn’t do much.” Xu Xin stroked Keke’s smooth fur, pointed to Silver King and Mimi, and said something that left Lou Fei’Er dumbfounded, ”I just contracted you, now, just like them, you’re my contract beast.”

Lou Fei’Er wanted to stand up in shock, but her legs failed her, and she fell from the sofa. She held her bruised nose, looked up at Xu Xin incredulously: ”Ah?”

”I said, you’re now my contract beast, got it?” Xu Xin repeated, taking out a small black vial, shaking it, as the pills inside clinked against the bottle.

”You’re now a mutant creature, and as it happens, I can contract mutant creatures, so I just contracted you in passing.”

”I... I...” Lou Fei’Er knelt on the ground, stunned and speechless, her mind was like a herd of llamas running wildly.

”You should thank this pill,” Xu Xin poured out a red pill, letting it roll in his palm, ”if it weren’t for this pill, you’d have died in that treehouse below long ago. If you hadn’t mutated, and I just happened to be able to contract, you’d have perished by my halberd in your unconsciousness.”

Lou Fei’Er looked at the red pill in his hand.

This is the mutation pill she took!

Wasn’t this thing hidden very deeply by her, hidden in the interlayer of the bedside table? She even made a special backpack to hold it so it could fit into the interlayer.

”You... you actually rummaged through a girl’s bedroom!” Lou Fei’Er struggled for a long time and finally squeezed out these words.

She was really panicking now.

What’s going on? Could it be that she is already his slave now?

That wasn’t even the scariest part. The scariest part was that she didn’t have any thoughts of resisting, and even felt that continuing like this was quite good?!

This...

Looking at Lou Fei’Er sitting on the ground with a very expressive face, Xu Xin almost wanted to laugh.

He didn’t waste any more time and said, ”I’m going to ask you a few questions. I’ll ask, you answer.”

Lou Fei’Er replied instinctively, ”Okay.” Right after saying that, she wanted to slap herself.

”After taking this pill, did you have any other reactions before mutating?” Xu Xin asked, holding the red pill.

”...I could clearly feel that my neural reaction speed became much faster than before, and my body also became lighter and more agile. Up until the day you killed me causing my mutation, I didn’t notice any other reactions.”

Lou Fei’Er emphasized in her words that Xu Xin had killed her before. Of course, she was emphasizing it to herself. She was reminding herself that this man had killed her once before, and she absolutely could not just submit to him!

But it was useless.

”After resurrecting from mutation, do you have any consciousness?”

Lou Fei’Er gritted her teeth and finally spoke, ”It’s like... being in a drunken state? The consciousness is very blurred, but it is indeed me. I was very impulsive and did want to kill you, and there are memories. But...”

She touched her stomach, remembering the deep, penetrating pain from when Xu Xin punched her stomach, and she hit the wall. She shivered and said, ”But your punch woke me up. Until the power faded, my consciousness didn’t blur again.”

Xu Xin rubbed his chin, thinking.

If what she said was true, then he could directly take this pill now.

After all, as long as there was no mutation, there would be no other side effects, and it could even enhance strength.

But now the question is, is this woman telling the truth? Is she deceiving him?

Let’s observe for a few days. Anyway, he’s not short of this pill to enhance his strength now.

Putting away the pill, Xu Xin said, ”You are now someone in the same camp as me. If I die, you will die too, so don’t have any foolish ideas.”

The mutant beast contract shouldn’t have this function, but bluffing her a bit shouldn’t be a problem.

Lou Fei’Er pursed her lips and decided to take it one step at a time. After all, in her current state, she couldn’t even walk, let alone resist.

So she raised her face and showed a somewhat simple and sweet smile, ”Then, should I call you Master now? My master, I’m yours now, so you have to cherish me.”

Her voice had already recovered and had become sweet again.

The period of weakness only resulted in the loss of strength and low spirits, but the self-healing ability of mutated creatures is still not to be underestimated. Rehabilitating the vocal cords is one of the simpler recoveries.

...This woman really knows how to act.

”As you wish, come with me then. I’ll take you to the Parasite Treehouse,” Xu Xin shook his head and stood up.

”Parasite Treehouse?” Lou Fei’Er was stunned for a moment, then understood, ”Did you move my treehouse over?”

”No, your treehouse is still there.” Xu Xin took out her watch and spun it around on his finger, ”However, I took the things inside. From today, you’ll live here, in the Parasite Treehouse.”

Xu Xin wanted to see which regional channel she would connect to if the Parasite Treehouse was named after her. After all, she’s still someone from Jungle Area 187.

If the treehouse owner is changed to her and the regional channel connects to Area 187, then there’s no need to keep the treehouse there. Keeping it was just for better access to information from Area 187. If other treehouses could do it, then it’s better to take out the core of the treehouse over there, as it is the core of a blue-level treehouse.

But Lou Fei’Er was puzzled. Since her treehouse wasn’t moved, why stay in another Parasite Treehouse?

This place is so big, and she noticed there are two bedrooms. Is there any need to move out?

She really didn’t want to move out. Isn’t it better to stay in such a big treehouse? Why move out?

No, no! How could she have such a thought! Staying outside gives more opportunities to escape!

It’s no use, though, what’s the point of escaping? She was still bound by his contract, still under his control!

Moreover, for some reason, she had no intention of escaping. She felt that staying here was quite good. This must be due to the contract; to escape, she must find a way to break it!

But she is doomed to be disappointed because even Xu Xin himself doesn’t know how to break the contract.

To put it simply, perhaps, when they all evolve into high-level mutant creatures, the contracts made with the blood of high-level mutant creatures will lose effect and then expire?

Of course, this is also just Xu Xin’s guess.

Lou Fei’Er’s current state is quite similar to Mimi, who was imprisoned in the dungeon for decades and longed for freedom. Every time Xu Xin went out, even if it was a long journey, and even if it would be out of breath, it would insist on going out together.

But even so, it never had the idea of escaping.

Lou Fei’Er is still finding reasons for herself at this moment.

Cannot stay outside, living close makes it easier to find a chance to force him to break the contract and get rid of her current identity! How to find such a chance when living outside?

So she immediately put on a soft, pitiful posture and said, ”Master, don’t you want to live together with me?”

This woman...
