Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 245: Chapter 222 Flickering Blood Patterns_2

Just as Li Wenxi was chatting with her, he was continuously observing this treehouse, while also glancing through the nearby window at everything outside the treehouse.

The unusual event with the Silver King, although it had subsided, still made him feel that something about this was extraordinary.

Blood patterns on mutated creatures don’t just light up for no reason.

This surrounding area is barren, the only difference being this treehouse.

Unfortunately, his discernment told him there was no resource area nearby, except for a yellow glow of alchemical materials found underground not far away, he noticed nothing peculiar around here.

That glow is similar to the one near Xu Xin’s treehouse, it could very likely be a coal mine.

But, isn’t there someone here every day? Just ask her.

”Unusual occurrence?” Li Yajun looked at Xu Xin in confusion, she pondered for a moment, then shook her head and said, ”What counts as an unusual occurrence? For me, everything that has happened these days is very unusual.”

”Uh...”

Indeed, when have the events around this treehouse been ordinary?

He thought about it, then asked with an example: ”For instance... Before the defense battle, have you seen mutated beasts around here, on the ground?”

”Mutated beasts?” Li Yajun instinctively looked at the Silver King, who was lying quietly behind Xu Xin and Li Wenxi, listening to their conversation. As Li Yajun glanced over, it let out a howl.

”There shouldn’t be... Ah, your wolf, why did its patterns light up!”

What?

Xu Xin and Li Wenxi immediately turned around simultaneously to look at the Silver King. Sure enough, the blood patterns on the Silver King, which had just dimmed down, were now slowly lighting up.

”Whimper!” Keke also let out a startled cry. It jumped onto the Silver King’s back, gently clawing twice at the blood patterns on the Silver King’s back.

”Howl?” Seeing everyone looking at it, the Silver King let out a confused sound, not knowing what was happening.

It seems that it itself did not feel any anomaly.

Xu Xin frowned tightly.

What on earth is happening, what special thing is around here? The Silver King has never encountered such a situation before.

If we’re saying it’s the Silver King’s own capability enhancement, evolution, it should be able to sense it. But the issue now is, it can’t, the Silver King can’t feel any change in its body.

Then it can almost be affirmed that it’s something around here affecting it, something similar to the Red Mist that spewed from the giant mouth like a ”mountain giant” in the salt mine cave, affecting it.

Last time when the blood pattern on the Silver King and Mimi lit up, their abilities enhanced, it was affected by the Red Mist there. At that time, the Silver King allowed Xu Xin, riding on it, to evidently feel its increased speed and burst power.

This time, he doesn’t have any sensations, but he noticed, the Silver King ran several tens of kilometers without any fatigue, as if its stamina was constantly at its peak.

Is this... enhancement solely for stamina?

If a resource like this truly exists nearby, capable of affecting mutated creatures, he must find it.

Although enhancing the Silver King’s stamina recovery might not improve much, it’s different for Mimi, whose shortcoming is its poor stamina. This time, he didn’t bring it out for this reason.

If he had such resources in hand, it could maintain its strongest battle state continuously!

Moreover, if such a thing really exists nearby, those strengthened would not just be his contracted beasts, enemy mutated creatures could also be strengthened!

If a future mutated beast army attacks, and their stamina remains endless...

That would be truly terrifying. He must get this thing into his own hands!

Of course, it might not be caused by some real resources, but rather this area is quite special, which is somewhat troublesome...

”Silver King, still don’t feel anything special?” Xu Xin asked.

”Howl...” The Silver King stood up and shook its head.

”This...” Li Wenxi asked somewhat worriedly, ”The Silver King won’t have any issues, right?”

”...For now, it seems to be only beneficial.” Xu Xin rubbed his chin.

Anyway, it’s better to find Qi Xuefei first.

If the Silver King still has this reaction there at Qi Xuefei’s place, then it indicates it’s its own problem, otherwise...

Then it’s time to thoroughly search this area.

Li Yajun led the two individuals and beasts down from her treehouse.

Xu Xin mounted the wolf and said to her, ”Today we will come to pick you up. In the meantime, help me carefully observe what’s unusual around.”

”Okay.” Li Yajun nodded, then she couldn’t help but ask, ”Can I touch this wolf, is it called Silver King?”

”Of course.” Xu Xin nodded, the Silver King wasn’t as shy as Keke, it actually had a character similar to a dog, as long as someone wasn’t hostile to it, they could pet it.

In fact, dogs are domesticated from wolves, the two don’t even have reproductive isolation, so it’s quite normal for the dignified Wolf King to become a bit like a dog after being domesticated by him.

”So nice... You all are truly strong, able to tame such powerful mutated creatures.” Stroking the Silver King’s head, Li Yajun exclaimed, ”I really love animals. The major I studied is animal science.”

She simply petted twice and stopped, not intending to take up Xu Xin’s time.

”Oh?” Xu Xin gave her a closer look.

Animal science, it’s probably related to breeding livestock, right?

Considered a talent, they will definitely engage in breeding in the future.

Although an undergraduate major basically has little to do with practical operations, as long as she’s not someone who just barely passes, really learning some theoretical knowledge, it’s still better than someone like him who grew up in the city, has only raised pet cats from childhood.

Moreover, their age range is between 18-30 years old, it’s hard to find real experts at this age, those who’ve studied a little are already considered talents.

”Then in the future, if we’re going to engage in breeding, you’ll have to give us lots of advice!” Li Wenxi, pulled onto the wolf’s back by Xu Xin, leaned against Xu Xin and said to Li Yajun standing on the ground.

”Uh... I’ll try my best...” Li Yajun replied somewhat awkwardly.

Although her grades were excellent, nearly finishing her third year before coming to this world, having learned most of the courses, the knowledge from undergraduate compared to real practice, really is two separate things. Without the internship experience in her fourth year, the knowledge from undergraduate, is indeed just knowledge.

Fortunately, she grew up in the countryside, has raised chickens and ducks, has some practical experience.

”I know undergraduate isn’t much, but still, you’re more professional than us!” Li Wenxi laughed, waving at her, ”Then we’ll be off now, back soon to pick you up! Take you back to the mines, haha.”

”Mm! Got it, I’ll wait for you to come back!” Li Yajun waved to the departed two riders atop the wolf, until their figures disappeared.

”It’s really nice... being able to accompany each other in this world...” Li Yajun gazed enviously towards the direction the pair departed.
