Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 241: Chapter 220 Survivors in the Same Area (4000 Words)

”Hmm, that’s right, she’s in the treehouse now. But that’s just to prevent her, who’s still in a weakened state, from being killed by passing enemies. After all, it cost a contract.”

”Hmm—so nothing really happened between the two of you?”

”Of course not,” Xu Xin reached out to her, ”What are we going to do down there? I’m just here to find a spot, now we need to keep heading north.”

Li Wenxi was holding Keke, who was comfortably asleep, with one hand, while grasping his hand with the other.

Xu Xin gently exerted some strength and pulled her onto the wolf’s back, letting her sit sideways on Silver King’s back.

”How do you like my story? Does it suit your taste?” Xu Xin asked with a slight smile, looking at her side profile.

”Haha, alright, I believe you!” Li Wenxi laughed cheekily, swung her leg over, and straddled Silver King’s back.

Before Xu Xin could speak, Li Wenxi pointed north with one hand while holding Keke, mimicking his tone, ”Silver King, to the north, let’s go!”

”Awooo—” Silver King let out a wolf howl, sprang off the ground, and began to weave through the forest again.

”Ah!” Because she wasn’t embraced by Xu Xin, she almost got thrown off by Silver King’s sudden turn and acceleration, but Xu Xin quickly caught her.

”Whimper?!” Keke woke up immediately, turning her little head back and forth, clueless about what happened.

Xu Xin glanced at Silver King with a slightly speechless expression.

This guy, does it actually obey Li Wenxi’s commands? Can it be ordered by someone else?

No, it shouldn’t. Silver King isn’t a mindless tool wolf; he has his own thoughts. He’s probably just running north because he heard me say to head there earlier and followed suit with Li Wenxi’s words.

Anyway, it looks like Li Wenxi is back to normal.

This little beauty is easy to cheer up.

”Ah, um... thank you.” Li Wenxi felt a bit embarrassed, she almost caused both herself and Keke to be thrown off.

”Finally not angry anymore?”

”... Angry? What anger, I’m not angry!” Li Wenxi turned her head away, stubbornly denying it.

”Alright. If the north of this treehouse isn’t accessible, we’ll have to try the north of my treehouse. When we pass by my treehouse, I’ll take you inside to have a look.”

”Sure! I really want to see how you managed to divide such a large treehouse!” Li Wenxi immediately got excited, then turned to glance at him, still smiling, ”Moreover, I want to see how beautiful that woman you mentioned really is.”

Xu Xin: ”...”

He couldn’t shake off the feeling that Lou Fei’Er might act all pitiful and spew nonsense in front of Li Wenxi.

...If she dare pulls such a trick, I might as well make her go into the bracelet.

Seems like that’s not quite right either, kind of feels like trying to cover things up.

Suddenly, he found himself missing Ji Chaoyang.

Forget it, deal with it when the time comes.

”It’s not certain yet, maybe the road ahead is clear?” Xu Xin pointed forward. Not too far ahead was a notably green area, an alive treehouse.

”Even if clear, that’s great. The treehouse ahead, it should be someone from our District 188, right?”

Indeed, following the alternating pattern of survivors from the same region, the person living in that treehouse must be a survivor from District 188, one of our own.

If we can get over there, we can chat with them to see if they’d like to join us. If they’re willing, we can bring them along when we return from Qi Xuefei, and he can unearth his treehouse conveniently and join us with his treehouse seed.

Silver King sped forward without slowing down, while Keke was napping in Li Wenxi’s arms.

”This seems to be within this tree’s protection area, doesn’t it?” Xu Xin was calculating the distance, looking at the not too distant treehouse.

A map emerged in his mind; since he hadn’t been to the north yet, it was still shrouded in darkness there.

But they’ve now passed the position of the treehouse that was unearthed, over three kilometers away, meaning they’ve likely stepped out of that treehouse’s intimidation protection zone.

Since they haven’t been attacked, it’s likely the territory extends from that treehouse ahead.

”Looks like we’ve crossed over.” Xu Xin smiled, now passing through here would be much more convenient, ”You can’t come over now, huh.”

”No big deal, we’ll just visit when we come back. You’re going to return to the treehouse anyway.” Li Wenxi wasn’t disappointed but didn’t give up on visiting Xu Xin’s treehouse.

”...It might be quite late by then. Are you still going back to the treehouse?” Xu Xin was a bit exasperated.

”Nope, I’ll just stay at your place for a night. Your place is so big, surely it doesn’t have just one bedroom, right?” Li Wenxi casually remarked.

”No way, you have to go back tonight. You can come to check out my treehouse, but I’ll take you back afterward.” Xu Xin decisively rejected.

”Huh?” Li Wenxi turned to him, eyes wide open, ”It’s just for one night, you’re not some ultra-conservative thinker, are you? Or maybe, you can’t help but want to...”

”What the heck!” Xu Xin finally couldn’t hold back, flicking her forehead.

”Ouch! That hurt!” Li Wenxi clutched her forehead, twisting and glaring at Xu Xin.

Xu Xin wasn’t really conservative-minded, but he held conservative views toward the world’s rules.
