Berserk God of War

Chapter 599: Chapter 599: Pincer Attack, Shihun Like a Snake

The Soul Eater Leader had no idea that he was being cornered solely by Sikong Jing; instead, he thought that Gongyang Ying had come with the people of Jianghu.

Retreat, retreat, retreat...

As expected, the Soul Stealers were formidable. In less than a quarter of an hour, everyone in the stronghold had retreated into the Soul Penetration Mountain, while the fifty thousand soldiers of Xia Dalian’s 66th Army, naturally, found themselves grasping at straws.

However, all of this was part of Sikong Jing’s plan — it was intentional to drive the Soul Stealers away.

Looking at the empty stronghold, Sikong Jing reappeared and said, ”You all should station yourselves in the stronghold. Gongyang Ying and Yan Qihuan are likely to send spies first, so for now, you’ll act as mountain bandits here.”

Upon hearing this, Xia Dalian agreed and led her fifty thousand soldiers into the stronghold, completely assuming the guise of mountain bandits.

Meanwhile, Sikong Jing left and entered the Soul Penetration Mountain.

He controlled the Little Demon Beast, beginning to monitor the escape route of the Soul Stealers, and then relayed the information to Ning Jingjing and Lian Guang.

Lian Guang’s seven hundred Absolute Night Wolf Guards tirelessly erased the cunning traps left by the Soul Stealers...

Such as poison gas, and objects liked by demon beasts that would contaminate the pursuers and then lure the demon beasts to attack them.

And such things as large pits and traps, etc.

Thanks to notifications from Sikong Jing’s Little Demon Beast, the Absolute Night Wolf Guards meticulously eliminated the traps.

On their journey, Ning Jingjing split her forces into three groups according to Sikong Jing’s command, and once Lian Guang had cleared the traps, they hurriedly pursued, still driving the Soul Stealers ahead...

”What’s going on? Why aren’t any of the traps working?”

During the escape, the Soul Eater Leader’s face continually turned a deeper shade of iron blue.

His various schemes were utterly exposed and rendered useless in this ambush.

In the past, he used to send people to ambush secretively after the traps were triggered, but how could he ambush now when the traps were ineffective?

The pursuers behind him weren’t isolating themselves at all!

”Dammit, Gongyang Ying, that sly wench, is actually this formidable. No, no... this can’t go on.”

”Scout, scout out the number of their troops.”

Following the Soul Eater’s order, the mountain bandits began to ascertain the number of their pursuers, and after analyzing it, the Soul Eater was surprised to say, ”It turns out there are only about a hundred thousand of them; we still have a chance to counterattack.”

”Immediately notify everyone to fall back to our main base, then confront them head-on.”

Since the number of pursuers was few, the Soul Eater decided to face them directly.

With that, a group of Soul Stealers immediately blazed through the Soul Penetration Mountain and furiously rushed back to their lair within the mountains.

This place was their main base, their second stronghold.

And this was no ordinary place—it was a terrain even more defensible and difficult to attack than the previous stronghold, surrounded by mountains and rocks, with only one entrance. Anyone wishing to enter had to fight their way in.

Defense is always easier than attack.

At that moment, the Soul Eater stood at the entrance, ominously saying, ”Gongyang Ying, I’ll make sure you come but never return.”

”Is that so?”

No sooner had he spoken than a voice both familiar and unfamiliar came from behind him.

In an instant, the Soul Eater’s body broke out in goosebumps, and he instinctively turned around and screamed, ”How is it you again? How could you be here?”

Just then, from within their highly defensible main base, another Ice Soul Cold Eagle flew out, bearing the same young man in black from before, his face full of cold smiles.

Suddenly, the Soul Eater was dumbstruck, as were all the Soul Stealers.

The next moment, dense footsteps and cries of women and children echoed from the lair: ”Boss...”

With a buzzing explosion, the minds of the Soul Stealers buzzed non-stop, disbelieving.

Suddenly, a troop of soldiers appeared from the main base lair with their families, all of them in their hands; leading them was a nonchalant, handsome young man.

This person, of course, was Sui Yu.

Looking around, Sikong Jing, on the Ice Soul Cold Eagle, slightly smiled and said, ”Soul Eater Leader, sorry, but we have already found your nest, and all your families are in our hands now.”

”Now, shouldn’t you put down your weapons and surrender?”

Opening his mouth wide, Shihun’s entire face twisted, and his body shook violently.

Tens of thousands of Soul Stealers twitched at the corners of their mouths, their faces paling, their hands still trembling as they gripped their weapons, and when they saw Ning Jingjing charging with a hundred thousand troops, their faces turned even uglier.

In an instant, the Soul Stealers lost all their battle intent.

With their families in the enemies’ hands, and now being caught in a pincer attack, what could they possibly do?

From the beginning, the Soul Stealers had fallen completely into the enemy’s trap.

But at that moment, Shihun suddenly exclaimed, ”No, you are not people from Jianghu, what exactly are you?”

He observed the troops inside and outside the main camp and realized that neither inside nor outside did they resemble the scattered forces of Jianghu people, but rather the well-organized ones from the military.

For a time, Shihun was completely baffled.

”Where is Gongyang Ying? Where is she?” Shihun roared before Sikong Jing could answer.

He suddenly felt that since they were regular soldiers, they must have been brought by Gongyang Ying.

However, Sikong Jing just smiled and replied, ”Gongyang Ying certainly isn’t here, and this encirclement has nothing to do with her, nor are we the people from Jianghu of course.”

”Just surrender, and I’ll tell you.”

Sikong Jing did not explain too much but simply waved his hand gently towards Sui Yu.

Clang...

The next instant, Sui Yu and his fifty thousand troops instantly drew their swords, positioning them at the throats of all the Soul Stealers’ family members, staring menacingly at the Soul Stealers at the entrance of the nest.

Sikong Jing spoke again, ”Drop your weapons, or your families might die terribly.”

Family members of the mountain bandits screamed in horror, every Soul Stealer panicked, and someone collapsed, saying, ”Boss, let’s surrender.”

Puh...

The next instant, Shihun abruptly decapitated the one who wanted to surrender, his gaze coldly fixed on Sikong Jing as he said, ”Surrender? How could that be possible? These little family members mean nothing—if they all die, then what?”

”A woman lost can be found again, a child lost can be born again, parents not had are just that, buried and done.”

”Now all the Luohun Warriors listen to me, kill them.”

As these words were spoken, a cold glint flashed in Sikong Jing’s eyes. This Soul Eater Leader really was as sinister and ruthless as the rumors said, not even caring for the lives of his family members.

Sikong Jing certainly didn’t intend to kill their family members; he just used them to get the Soul Stealers to surrender.

But while Shihun could be heartless, what about the other Soul Stealers?

When Sikong Jing’s gaze swept over them, each of the Soul Stealers kept twitching at the mouth, unable to move at all.

They were mountain bandits, but they were also flesh and blood men.

Seeing this, Sikong Jing’s lips slightly curled, and he coldly said, ”Shihun, not everyone is as ruthless as you. Do you think your men still have their battle intent?”

As soon as these words came out, Shihun also slowly surveyed all the Soul Stealers, naturally finding hardly any battle intent among them.

Like this, they couldn’t fight at all.

However, Shihun, to Sikong Jing’s surprise, suddenly stared sinisterly and scoffed.

”No battle intent, I’ll give them battle intent. Don’t think you’ve won already.”

”I still have a desperate trump card, because all the Soul Stealers will soon transform into... the War Soul Harvest Army.”

The moment the voice fell, Shihun suddenly bit his finger.

Then he crazily sucked the blood, and next, blood sprayed into the sky, and an eerie aura spread from Shihun’s body...

Suddenly, the surrounding area was filled with gusty winds, as if something was awakening.
