Berserk God of War

Chapter 586: Chapter 586: The Price, Five-finger Mountain

Looking at Ning Jingjing, Sikong Jing added, ”Secondly, I want to temper the 66th Army so that even while I am operating in the War Soul Dynasty, I can have a reliable back-up that can convey messages to me and so on.”

”What I want is not for the 66th Army to have a great influence within the War Soul Dynasty, that would simply be seeking a path to death.”

”That’s why Luohun Road, where advances and retreats are both possible, is our best position.”

There were two objectives for Sikong Jing’s mission this time, one was to obtain the life-saving medicine for Beigong Xianfeng.

The other was to find a way to kill Mo Ci while in the War Soul Dynasty.

Thus, his destination was certainly the War Soul Imperial City, but he couldn’t openly bring the 66th Army with him, as that would expose his movements immediately, so having a base was very important.

From the start, having the people of the 66th Army call him Boss had been part of this plan.

Unexpectedly, he found a very suitable identity just after coming out from Soul Penetration Mountain.

Hearing this, Ning Jingjing nodded quietly and asked, ”Shall we gather the 66th Army now to take over Luohun Road?”

Shaking his head, Sikong Jing pointed at the busy street below and said with a smile, ”There’s no rush. Right now, Huanteng Mountain Villa in Wang Hun State is gathering Jianghu Martial Artists to encircle and suppress the Soul Stealers, we can’t act for the time being.”

”No matter what the opponent is, we must know ourselves and our enemy first. Let’s join the suppression forces first.”

The reason why Wuwang City was so bustling was precisely because Huanteng Mountain Villa had issued the order, summoning the Jianghu people.

Sikong Jing had already heard the discussions about this from those around him in the tavern.

It was precisely because the official forces of the War Soul Dynasty had been unsuccessful in their pursuits that Huanteng Mountain Villa had initiated this action.

As for the so-called Huanteng Mountain Villa, Sikong Jing had already learned from the intelligence gathered around that it was the largest Jianghu sect within the boundaries of Wang Hun State, with an immense reputation.

Ning Jingjing naturally understood Sikong Jing’s intentions as well—to first join the suppression forces and see what remarkable abilities the Soul Stealers had.

To know oneself and one’s enemy is to win without any losses.

At that moment, Sikong Jing spoke again, ”Send out a Message Bird to notify the 66th Army to temporarily follow Lian Guang’s command, with Xia Dalian and Sui Yu as advisors to assist, stationed within Soul Penetration Mountain a hundred kilometers from Luohun Road, ready to receive my orders at any moment.”

A sharp glint flashed in Ning Jingjing’s eyes, and she immediately sent out a Message Bird with the notice.

After finalizing their plans, the two quietly had drinks and dishes at Yingyue Building, while more and more people gathered around them.

Suddenly, a ”thud, thud, thud” of footsteps arose at the staircase, and a troop of Green-armored Soldiers strode up, led by a noble young man in white holding a folded fan followed by a middle-aged man in plain clothes.

The young man in white had a smile on his lips, while the middle-aged man in plain clothes had a cold expression, scanning the people in the tavern.

Suddenly, the young man in white pointed his folded fan at the spot where Sikong Jing and Ning Jingjing were sitting and said with a light smile, ”Uncle Lu, clear that man and woman away, I’ve always liked to sit in that spot.”

His voice was as if coming from the clouds, and he seemed to disregard everyone around him.

Surrounded by the Jianghu people, all eyes fell on Sikong Jing and his companion, each of them wearing a look of anticipation for the drama that might unfold.

The middle-aged man known as Uncle Lu nodded knowingly and strode towards Sikong Jing. He then slammed down a piece of Ming King Crystal and said, ”You two, find another spot.”

Sikong Jing glanced at Ning Jingjing, smiled helplessly with a bit of resignation.

Truly unfortunate, to have casually chosen a seat in the tavern and yet still encounter trouble.

Sikong Jing narrowed his eyes, glanced around, and replied, ”It seems there are no other spots available.”

It was the peak of dinner time in the evening, and with the gathering of the Jianghu people, the vast Yingyue Building was already fully packed.

And this reply from Sikong Jing made the surrounding Jianghu people show disdainful looks, making it seem like the man was prepared to give up his seat—amidst the violent Jianghu, who behaved as timidly as he did.

For them, a place can be arranged, but fight for it first.

The commoner middle-aged man’s lips curled into a sneer, and he said with a mocking tone, ”Then get out of Yingyue Building and make way for our young master.”

He did not regard Sikong Jing highly at all, as if making room for them was a matter of course.

Sikong Jing shrugged his shoulders and replied with a smile, ”Alright... But one Ming King Crystal is a bit too little, seeing how rich your young master appears to be, raise the price a bit, won’t you?”

As soon as these words came out, the people around were stunned; some almost laughed out loud.

This average-looking man actually had the audacity to haggle, did he think this was a marketplace? It was evident that he lacked experience in Jianghu; did he think asking for more money would save his face?

To the Jianghu people, what’s money? Face is earned through fighting.

Clearly, the commoner middle-aged man was also taken aback by Sikong Jing’s words, showing a disdainful expression as he asked, ”Then how much do you want?”

Sikong Jing held out five fingers, and the middle-aged man asked again, ”Five Ming King Crystals?”

”No, Five-finger Mountain.” Sikong Jing shook his head slightly, and in an instant, his five fingers whipped out, slapping the middle-aged man’s face with a loud smack that echoed throughout Yingyue Building.

The playfulness on the commoner middle-aged man’s face froze, as he was slapped senseless.

”Clang...”

In the next moment, the Green-armored Soldiers behind the young man in white rushed over, drawing their weapons and pointing them directly at Sikong Jing.

The scene immediately became explosive.

The surrounding crowd was flabbergasted; this man was only pretending to retreat. Those who had just ridiculed him felt a sting on their faces.

At this point, the commoner middle-aged man also came back to his senses, with True Qi exploding around his body.

With a clang, he unsheathed the sword at his waist and slashed fiercely towards Sikong Jing, raging, ”I’ll kill you.”

His True Qi burst wildly, clearly at the peak of the Xuanhai Realm within the Xuantian Five Realms, and the sword’s light was ferocious.

However, Sikong Jing did not even move, whether out of disdain, tardy reaction, or sheer fright.

But Ning Jingjing, standing opposite him, did react, fiercely throwing her wine glass at the middle-aged man’s sword, shattering his True Qi abruptly, and forcing him to retreat several steps.

Everything ended in the blink of an eye, and Ning Jingjing, with a chilling face, said, ”Get lost!”

As soon as the word ”lost” was uttered, Yingyue Building went quiet.

The crowd watched Ning Jingjing in awe, someone whispered, ”She too is at the peak of the Xuanhai Realm, such an impressive Martial Arts Genius.”

The realm Ning Jingjing had just displayed was also the peak of the Xuanhai Realm.

Given her young age, such a realm naturally qualified her as a genius.

One must know that before Sikong Jing became the Chief of the Long Night Saint Dragon Palace, Qin Lao, the previous Chief, had not yet reached the Xuanhai Realm.

The War Soul Dynasty was on par with the Long Night Empire, and this was only a state within the War Soul Dynasty.

The sudden emergence of such a formidable Xuanhai Realm genius naturally shocked and drew the attention of many, but the commoner middle-aged man did not see it that way; he was furious, yelling with a cold voice, ”Men, join me in killing this pair of dogs.”

”Uncle Lu, hold on a moment.”

Just then, a faint voice arose, coming from the distinguished young man in white.

That is, the commoner middle-aged man’s master.
