Berserk God of War

Chapter 576: Chapter 576: 66th Army, Must Die

Following the arrangements of Lu Lungan, the two great armies reignited the battle on the Youxue Plain.

With the Long Night Army attacking and the War Soul Dynasty Army defending, both sides fought relentlessly, yet neither displayed much battle intent.

The War Soul Dynasty was temporarily defending to the death.

As for the Long Night Army, it was because of the loss of the Dark Wings and their mistrust of Cheng Yusu, making their mindset unstable—hardly a state conducive to cultivating battle intent.

On the side of the Long Night Empire, Cheng Yusu stared intently at the battlefield, searching for any soldier that might belong to the Dark Wing Camp.

One two-hour period, two two-hour periods, three two-hour periods...

Cheng Yusu and his subordinates simply couldn’t find a single one, all assuming that the Dark Wing Camp was dispersed among the ranks of the Long Night Black Burning Army and even the Long Night General Army, so they were searching for individuals.

They never considered that the entire 66th Army was composed of Dark Wing Soldiers.

Unable to find them, Cheng Yusu and his people grew increasingly irritable...

On the battlefield, Cao Yi secretly met with Ning Jingjing, and when Ning Jingjing informed him about the content of Sikong Jing’s paper ball, Cao Yi almost burst into tears—the Beigong Commander was still alive.

”Hehehehe....”

Cao Yi’s entire body went numb, his teeth clenching in excitement. After a while, he asked, ”Sikong Jing is off to find medicine for the Beigong Commander, but what does he mean by having you leave the Long Night Black Burning Army to join the War Soul Dynasty?”

If Sikong Jing had not previously intentionally invited Ning Jingjing to leave, Cheng Yusu might not have deliberately targeted her.

But Sikong Jing had invited her, purposely making Ning Jingjing a target.

This, Cao Yi could not understand.

”I think staying in the Long Night Black Burning Army is too dangerous for the Dark Wing Camp. There’s always the risk of being exposed.”

”At the same time, Sikong Jing also plans to take the Dark Wing Camp and infiltrate the War Soul Dynasty.”

Upon hearing this, Cao Yi shook violently. He could completely understand the first statement, but the second one baffled him—wasn’t Sikong Jing too bold?

How could 200,000 Dark Wing Camp Soldiers enter the War Soul Dynasty?

”Anyway, we need to act entirely according to Sikong Jing’s instructions from now on.”

After speaking, Ning Jingjing split up with Cao Yi. They couldn’t be in contact for too long to avoid attracting Cheng Yusu’s attention.

After separating, Cao Yi clenched his fists tightly. The fact that the Beigong Commander wasn’t dead was the best news, but even if Sikong Jing himself said it, he still found it unbelievable.

A man who had already been buried was alive again?

Cao Yi also gradually realized that Sikong Jing must have had successful results in treating the Beigong Commander; he just deliberately concealed it.

Every move Sikong Jing made had deep intentions.

On the other hand, Cheng Yusu was furious: ”Damn it, damn it, damn it... Why can’t I find even one?”

Several hours passed, and it was almost dark.

Unable to find any soldiers from the Dark Wing Camp, Cheng Yusu couldn’t stop cursing, and suddenly directed his rage at the Long Night Army, hurling insults.

”What the hell is this? There’s no morale at all.”

”The Long Night Black Burning Army obviously still doesn’t respect me. They all deserve to die.”

Although the Long Night Army still managed to suppress the War Soul Dynasty Army, that was the result of the Dark Wings’ temporary command. If the Long Night Army continued like this in the future, they were likely to be decimated by Lu Lungan.

”No, this won’t do,” Cheng Yusu’s eyes flashed coldly, suddenly saying, ”I must use the death of an entire army corps to intimidate the Long Night Black Burning Army. I want them to see the consequences of not respecting me.”

Cheng Yusu, being Prince Zhen Nan, wasn’t just good at armchair strategizing.

He was well aware that if he could not fully control the Long Night Black Burning Army, he would surely lose to Lu Lungan, and to compete for the imperial throne for Ji Tan, he had to win. Thus, the only strategy he could think of now was... intimidation.

The staff officer next to him, upon hearing this, hastily asked, ”Commander Cheng, which army’s deaths are you planning to use to intimidate the entire army?”

Cheng Yusu slowly turned around, a chilling smile spreading across his lips: ”The 66th Army, Ning Jingjing!”

”Isn’t she eager to establish a great career?”

”I’ll grant her wish, offering her an opportunity to achieve great success...I plan to use the death of the 66th Army to warn the Long Night Black Burning Army, and I will also kill Sikong Jing’s friend.”

”Slap my face, kill my guards, it won’t be so easy to end.”

As he spoke, a cold glint repeatedly flashed in Cheng Yusu’s eyes, while the twilight was already appearing in the sky.

Suddenly, a flying demon beast swooped in, on which sat Cao Yi.

”Commander Lu, it is getting late, we must withdraw our troops now, or uncontrollable factors will occur.”

If they entered the night, the already weakened War Soul Dynasty Army might have a chance to counterattack, so it was essential to withdraw the troops now, lest the advantage gained by the Dark Wing Commander be totally lost.

Although Cao Yi wished for Cheng Yusu’s death, he couldn’t stand by and watch the Long Night Black Burning Army suffer heavy casualties and lose the Youyuan Twelve States.

”Vice Commander Cao, do you still need to teach me? Of course, I know we need to withdraw the troops.”

Cheng Yusu spoke lightly, and then his expression suddenly turned fierce.

”Pass my order, before nightfall, the Long Night Army will make one last charge...”

”At the same time, the 66th Army will launch a surprise attack in the direction of the weakest part of the War Soul Dynasty’s general army. I want General Ning Jingjing to enter the War Soul Dynasty’s territory at night, and by dawn, we must capture Youmei State City!”

As these words fell, Cao Yi trembled all over, his face turning pale.

The so-called Youmei State City lay just to the rear left of Netherworld State City. If it could be captured, it would be more than ideal, but clearly, Cheng Yusu was sending Ning Jingjing and the 66th Army to their deaths.

How could an army of two hundred thousand possibly take Youmei State City?

Of course, what shocked Cao Yi even more was Sikong Jing’s plan, where everything was calculated to provoke Cheng Yusu into retaliating against Ning Jingjing, thereby completely drawing the entire Dark Wing Camp away.

But could Sikong Jing really allow two hundred thousand Dark Wing Soldiers to completely infiltrate the War Soul Dynasty unnoticed?

Shaking his head, Cao Yi deliberately advised, ”Commander Cheng, this matter...”

”No need for more words; this is an order. You just need to convey it for me... otherwise, your family will suffer a miserable death.”

”Either Ning Jingjing dies, or your entire family dies. You decide.”

With Cheng Yusu’s threat, Cao Yi’s expression turned extremely grim, and he finally gritted his teeth and agreed.

Not long after receiving the order, Ning Jingjing’s eyes flashed cold, her expression becoming resolute, even somewhat anticipatory. She was looking forward to meeting up with Sikong Jing on the War Soul Dynasty’s land.

Looking forward to fighting alongside Sikong Jing.

Watching Ning Jingjing and the 66th Army’s departing figures, Cao Yi clenched his fists tightly, his eyes also filled with anticipation. Perhaps he would soon witness a spectacular battle belonging to Sikong Jing.

Taking advantage of the glow of the twilight, the Long Night Army charged collectively!

And as the War Soul Dynasty Army frantically defended, and as night fell, Ning Jingjing led the 66th Army towards the weakest part of their defenses, charging forth ferociously.

All soldiers of the 66th Army roared furiously, their voices thundering up, instantly tearing through the War Soul Dynasty’s defenses.

The War Soul Dynasty’s general army screamed in agony...

”Charge, the target is Youmei State City!”

In the instant they breached the defenses, Ning Jingjing roared low, leading the 66th Army straight toward Youmei State City.
