Berserk God of War

Chapter 584: Chapter 584: Mo Ci, Furious

On Youye State City, Cheng Yusu burst into laughter upon receiving the message and then went to the city wall and announced, ”I have received a message from Cheng Yusu, General Ning and the 66th Army... have died!”

Upon these words, all of the Long Night Army fell into a strange silence.

”Well done, General Ning, she attacked Youmei State City and held off part of the War Soul Dynasty’s forces.”

”I, Cheng Yusu, will certainly apply for her military honors.”

Cheng Yusu feigned a sorrowful expression as he made this solemn promise.

Yet, the clenched fists of the Long Night Army revealed their anger. What use were military honors to the dead?

Ning Jingjing could have survived, could have been so formidable, but was overtly killed by Cheng Yusu.

Ignoring everyone’s sorrow and anger, Cheng Yusu said, ”Next, we must unite and avenge General Ning, do you hear me?”

Still, no one responded until Vice Commander Cao Yi and others deliberately made a noise to prompt them, and then they lazily replied.

In the end, Cheng Yusu turned around, a cold smile playing at his lips.

”Let them be disobedient for now, they dare not oppose me anyway, Cao Yi and the other vice commanders must help me.”

Below the city, Vice Commander Wen Jun looked at Cao Yi and asked, ”Are Ning Jingjing and the 66th Army really dead?”

Cao Yi glanced at him and said, ”Are you foolish? The 66th Army is the Dark Wing Camp; if Lu Lungan really wiped them out, would he simply notify us quietly? He would certainly proclaim it loudly.”

At this, Wen Jun was stunned, realizing the logic.

”But it looks like Lu Lungan really believes that the 66th Army has perished,” Wen Jun blinked, utterly confused.

Cao Yi twitched his mouth and shook his head, sighing, ”Stop thinking about it, the methods of Sikong Jing are not something we can understand... but what’s certain is that he has already successfully infiltrated the War Soul Dynasty with the 66th Army.”

Instantly, several vice commanders trembled all over, eyes filled with shock and anticipation.

What kind of storm would the infiltration of the 200,000-strong 66th Army into the War Soul Dynasty stir?

...

That day, in the Eldest Prince’s residence in the Long Night Imperial City,

Ji Tan received a letter from Cheng Yusu and murmured, ”Sikong Jing appeared in Youye State City and even said he was heading to the War Soul Dynasty. Before leaving, he killed ten of Cheng Yusu’s guards as a warning.”

The person behind him was still Yan Ruyu,

who was massaging Ji Tan’s shoulders and then asked, ”What is Sikong Jing warning Cheng Yusu about?”

Yan Ruyu couldn’t figure it out, as Cheng Yusu and Sikong Jing should have had no interaction at all.

”A few days ago, Sikong Jing encountered Beigong Da in the street, killed a master from the Wangyou Sect for him, and learned from the mouth of the Wangyou Sect master that the death of Beigong Xianfeng was related to him.”

”Thus Sikong Jing thought that Cheng Yusu was misusing his name, which led to the death of Beigong Xianfeng,” Ji Tan explained. ”That’s why Sikong Jing went to Youye State City, to retaliate against Cheng Yusu’s exploitation.”

At this, Ji Tan’s mouth slightly curled up; in fact, it was he, the Eldest Prince, who had used Sikong Jing to kill Beigong Xianfeng.

At that moment, Ji Tan felt a refreshing thrill, being the mastermind behind the scenes.

Whether it was Cheng Yusu, Mo Ci, or the unparalleled genius Sikong Jing, each of them was being manipulated by him.

”I see, so what is Sikong Jing’s purpose in going to the War Soul Dynasty?” Yan Ruyu asked.

She was more concerned about Sikong Jing’s movements.

Ji Tan looked down and pondered for a moment, then slowly began, ”Didn’t you say that Sikong Jing is a man of deep loyalty and righteousness? It must be that Beigong Da requested Sikong Jing to protect the Beigong Family... so Sikong Jing agreed to go to the War Soul Dynasty.”

”This way, Mo Ci won’t annihilate the Beigong Family.”

”Of course, the relationship between the Beigong Family and Sikong Jing isn’t strong, he must have other motives...”

”I heard the Wangyou Sect Young Master is currently traveling westward, and Sikong Jing might be planning to kill Wang Ge to take revenge on Mo Ci, thus striking at Wangyou Sect as well,”

This guess made Yan Ruyu feel it very reasonable; it must be the case.

”In any case, the affairs of Sikong Jing are momentarily unrelated to us.”

”Everything is running very smoothly now, as long as the wars in the Youyuan Twelve States end, I can make my move. Then, I will be the Long Night Emperor, hahaha.”

Ji Tan laughed as he stretched and then squinted at Yan Ruyu, lifting her up and carrying her into the room.

He was in an excellent mood, ready to grant Yan Ruyu a generous reward.

And Yan Ruyu naturally did not resist, collapsing on the large bed in the room with seductive eyes, ready to receive Ji Tan’s indulgence.

However, just when Ji Tan was about to act... Whoosh!

Suddenly, he felt a terrifying chill pervading the air, accompanied by the cracking sounds of ice forming.

In less than a blink of an eye, the entire room was nearly frozen, and he almost lost his manhood to the cold.

A wave of panic crawled up his heart, and Ji Tan exclaimed in a low voice, ”Who’s there?”

At that moment, he was terrified; had the Emperor discovered something, sending a master to kill him... and just as this thought sprang up, an ice-cold figure like a silver moon stepped into the room.

It was a middle-aged woman dressed in a snow robe, with a face as cold as eternal ice.

It was Mo Ci.

Mo Ci looked at the two barely clothed figures, her eyes utterly unfluctuating.

”Ji Tan, I am Mo Ci. I want you to immediately send someone to find Sikong Jing’s whereabouts.”

”Beigong Xianfeng actually deceived me, that damned old thing.”

Upon hearing this, Ji Tan shivered fiercely and silently exhaled a breath of relief.

As long as it wasn’t an assassin sent by the Emperor, he reluctantly endured the surrounding chill and draped on his clothes, then said, ”Mo Ci Sect Master, Sikong Jing has already gone to the War Soul Dynasty. You are a step too late.”

Instantly, Mo Ci looked up, glaring as the surrounding chill grew even more terrifying, ”What did you say?”

Ji Tan didn’t dare to delay and immediately handed over the letter from Cheng Yusu to Mo Ci, who after scanning it quickly, froze the letter into a block of ice, coldly saying, ”Sikong Jing deserves to die; he made me come here for nothing.”

She had originally believed Beigong Xianfeng’s words and was waiting in the War Soul Dynasty like hunting by waiting for prey.

However, a few days ago, she received news that Sikong Jing had appeared in the Long Night Imperial City and even killed the first family, so she immediately sent someone to eliminate the Beigong Family as a punishment.

Yet, the person she sent was counter-killed by Sikong Jing.

She personally hurried back only to now receive news that Sikong Jing had fled to the War Soul Dynasty.

It was infuriating!

At that moment, Ji Tan reanalyzed the thoughts he had shared with Yan Ruyu to Mo Ci, suggesting that Sikong Jing’s goal might have been to protect the Beigong Family from extinction, and he likely went to kill Wang Ge.

Mo Ci looked at him coldly and spoke slowly, ”He wouldn’t go after Wang Ge. The person he wants to kill is me, the sect master.”

Sikong Jing knew that Wang Ge would die upon seeing him, hence he couldn’t have pursued him.

”Humph, to protect the Beigong Family?”

”Did he think that by fulfilling Beigong Xianfeng’s lie, he could stop me from destroying the Beigong Family?”

”Unfortunately, what Wangyou Sect hates most is those who prioritize love and righteousness...”

Mo Ci gave a cold laugh and then turned to Ji Tan to ask, ”The Beigong Family, where are they?”
