Berserk God of War

Chapter 574: Chapter 574: Dark Wing Camp, Fall In

Cheng Yusu was going insane with rage. Without any reason, he had been slapped by Sikong Jing, who also killed ten of his guards right in front of tens of millions of soldiers. Where could he put his face?

He roared incessantly, and frantically issued orders...

However, the current Long Night Black Burning Army didn’t make any move at all, completely ignoring Cheng Yusu’s commands even though vice commanders and generals like Cao Yi tried to calm them; the Long Night Army still showed no respect for Cheng Yusu.

”Cao Yi, I ordered you to fire arrows, did you hear me?”

Cheng Yusu was about to explode with anger, glaring at Cao Yi and the other vice commanders, his eyes clearly threatening.

Finally, Cao Yi and others came to their senses and shouted to the Long Night Black Burning Army: ”Fire the arrows, hurry up and fire...”

In an instant, arrows filled the sky!

However, Sikong Jing had already disappeared on the back of an Ice Soul Cold Eagle, without a trace to be found.

Seeing this, Cheng Yusu was so angry that he was jumping up and down.

He cursed wildly and finally said firmly, ”All vice commanders and generals, enter the city at once. I’m going to hold a meeting.”

After speaking, he turned around with indignation and returned to the city tower. At the same time, the so-called body of Dark Wings was hung high, displayed on the city wall. Cheng Yusu wanted to expose the corpse to the sun as a deterrent to the Long Night Black Burning Army.

Underneath the city wall, Wen Jun asked Cao Yi, ”What exactly is going on? Is Sikong Jing really Dark Wings?”

Originally, their suspicions about Sikong Jing being Dark Wings was just speculation, and now they were suddenly at a loss.

After making sure there were no other people around, Cao Yi spoke softly, ”Yes, but now he is no longer. Dark Wings is dead, so for now, we must follow Cheng Yusu.”

The vice commanders were still confused. What was he talking about?

”Pretend to ally with Cheng Yusu temporarily, until Dark Wings Sikong Jing returns...

Cao Yi took a deep breath and then saw a group of generals gathering, so he said no more.

The vice commanders finally realized, the dead Dark Wings was fake.

But apart from them, no one else knew that, which meant the real Dark Wings Sikong Jing must be planning something again.

They just hadn’t been told yet, and needed to wait patiently.

Whatever the case, Sikong Jing’s appearance was to tell the vice commanders to steady their nerves, and keep the hidden troops unchanged.

At the same time, Ning Jingjing did not immediately approach the city wall but gently opened the paper ball that Sikong Jing had just thrown down. Inside, there were a few lines of writing, which read...

”Cheng Yusu will definitely want to control Dark Wing Camp. Don’t let him know who the Dark Wing Camp soldiers are.”

”After my disturbance, Cheng Yusu knows that you and I are friends. He will surely target you... He will assign a task to the 66th Army to send them to their deaths. Once the task is accepted, move into the territory controlled by the War Soul Dynasty, and I will assist you.”

This second sentence made Ning Jingjing’s pupils shrink. Sikong Jing had approached her on purpose.

It was to have her lead the 66th Army away from the Long Night Black Burning Army.

Thinking of this, Ning Jingjing felt a surge of excitement and continued to read...

”Tell Cao Yi that the Beigong Commander is still alive, but I need to enter War Soul Dynasty territory to find medicine. He might receive secret orders from the Beigong Commander or from me. Act carefully.”

This last sentence caused Ning Jingjing’s eyes to widen in shock, and her hand trembled, almost letting the paper ball be discovered.

But immediately she used her True Qi to crush the paper ball into dust, her heart inundated with shock—the Beigong Commander was actually still alive.

”General Ning, be careful at the upcoming meeting,” a general reminded as he whispered in Ning Jingjing’s ear.

It was clear that everyone knew, after Sikong Jing’s recent commotion, Ning Jingjing would definitely be targeted by Cheng Yusu.

Ning Jingjing nodded expressionlessly in thanks and stepped into the city with the other generals...

Inside the city tower, Cheng Yusu’s teeth grated with a crunch: ”Sikong Jing, I must kill him.”

At this moment, a staff officer from the White Flame Army that he had brought with him said, ”Commander Cheng, did Sikong Jing really come just to retaliate against you? And since he’s preparing to go to the War Soul Dynasty, could there be something fishy about it?”

This staff officer furrowed his brows tightly, feeling that Sikong Jing’s arrival was too coincidental, just as the Dark Wings’ corpse had arrived.

However, a vice commander of the White Flame Army sneered repeatedly, ”What could be fishy? Who is Sikong Jing? The top Martial Arts Genius of the Long Night Empire at present, his arrogance knows no limits... It’s precisely for revenge against Commander Cheng that he came.”

A guard also said, ”Right, I heard that the Wangyou Sect actually went to seek out the Beigong Family. If Sikong Jing encountered this matter, he would definitely be unhappy, but he doesn’t know that this was a manipulation by His Highness, and he mistakenly believes it was Commander Cheng’s doing.”

Hearing this, Cheng Yusu also nodded knowingly.

”I have heard about this Sikong Jing; he is indeed excessively arrogant because of his Martial Arts Talent.”

”Otherwise, he wouldn’t have provoked even the Wangyou Sect Master to want to personally exterminate him, so him coming to retaliate against me is entirely normal.”

Having said this, Cheng Yusu’s brows furrowed again as he coldly commanded, ”His Highness also said he wanted to subdue him, but I see no need for that now. People like him cause too much trouble; it won’t be long before he meets his end.”

”Although I’m unaware of his purpose for going to the War Soul Dynasty, it’s an opportunity for us to inform the Wangyou Sect of his whereabouts.”

The staff officers and vice commanders of the White Flame Army nodded upon hearing this.

Instead of subduing Sikong Jing, a Martial Arts Genius with a difficult temperament, it would be better to ingratiate themselves with the Wangyou Sect by providing his whereabouts.

This aligned with His Highness’s current interests.

However, this matter required the personal decision of Ji Tan, so Cheng Yusu directly sent a message back to the Long Night Imperial City.

After taking care of that, vice commanders like Cao Yi and the other generals had already arrived outside the city tower. At Cheng Yusu’s command, everyone stepped into the grand hall of the city tower, where Cheng Yusu was already gazing down at them from above.

In the stern atmosphere, Cheng Yusu, as Cao Yi and the others had expected, spoke words of threat and conquest.

He also demanded that Cao Yi and the others promise that he could successfully control the Long Night Black Burning Army.

The vice commanders, including Cao Yi, had ashen faces but could only agree...

”Very well, now follow me out to issue the first order.”

Cheng Yusu was very satisfied with the performance of Cao Yi and the others and led them and a group of generals back on top of the city walls. Then he coldly stared at the somewhat bewildered Long Night Army below and barked an order, ”Dark Wing Camp Soldiers, fall in!”

At these words, Cao Yi was greatly shaken.

A flicker of panic crossed his eyes as he looked toward Ning Jingjing, who was hidden among the generals.

Now, there was trouble. If Cheng Yusu found out that the Dark Wing Camp was actually the 66th Army, then would he and Ji Tan suspect that the dead Dark Wing was a fake, and could they potentially connect this to Sikong Jing?

Meanwhile, Ning Jingjing’s face was impassive, but she clenched her fists in silent anxiety.

Thankfully, Sikong Jing had shown up just in time, thankfully he had given her that ball of paper, or the Dark Wing Camp would have been exposed.

At this moment, the soldiers of the Long Night Army below looked at each other in confusion; everyone was searching for the presence of the Dark Wing Camp Soldiers, including the 66th Army—all were looking around, but no one stepped forward.

At this time, everyone was searching for the existence of the Dark Wing Camp.

One breath, two breaths, three breaths...

Cheng Yusu’s originally relaxed face darkened once again, as he twisted to look at Cao Yi and the other vice commanders, saying, ”I’ll call out one more time, and if the Dark Wing Camp still doesn’t fall in, it’ll go very badly for you.”

After speaking, Cheng Yusu called again for the Dark Wing Camp to fall in, but still, all he met with was an eerie silence, with no response.
