Berserk God of War

Chapter 581: Chapter 581: Soul Penetration Mountain

”Hmph, they wouldn’t dare...”

Cheng Yusu chuckled coldly, ”The families of the Long Night Black Burning Army are all within the Long Night Imperial City; if they dare rebel, it would be a grave crime warranting the extermination of their entire clans. Now, they can only obediently comply, and all I need is their obedience.”

”Once His Highness’s grand plan succeeds, I will become the Imperial Army Marshal of the Long Night Empire. Who then would dare to complain?”

Cheng Yusu was well aware that this would provoke public anger, but he was unafraid and eerily said, ”This Ning Jingjing is really something; she actually took Youmei State City. Damn it, she’s making me look bad!”

He felt an indignant hatred in his heart — it was all Ning Jingjing’s fault that he was drawing public outrage.

He didn’t want to see this situation, but there was nothing he could do since Ning Jingjing had almost performed a miracle.

Of course, Cheng Yusu didn’t know that this was actually all the masterpiece of Dark Wing Commander Sikong Jing.

Below Youye State City, Vice Commander Cao Yi and others finally calmed things down, and they exchanged a meaningful glance as if their eyes all said, ”Sikong Jing is awesome, even daring to infiltrate the War Soul Dynasty to cause such a stir.”

He had ingrained a deeper hatred for Cheng Yusu within the Long Night Army, and once the Dark Wings returned, no one could stop him.

That night, Youmei State City...

Sikong Jing and Ning Jingjing received two messages.

One was from Cheng Yusu, pretendingly telling them to hold on, that he would surely bring troops to attack the War Soul Dynasty Army the next morning.

The other was from Cao Yi, detailing how Lu Lungan was bringing a million Beast Blood Soldiers, along with the sounds of outrage from the Long Night.

Sikong Jing crumpled the two messages into a ball and looked at Ning Jingjing.

”Tomorrow morning, Cheng Yusu will bring troops to attack Youhun State City, and by then Lu Lungan will definitely bring the Beast Blood Soldiers back to the battlefield. Our pursuers will turn into the War Soul Army from behind Youhun State City and the Four States of Youyuan.”

”Next, we’ll plan our route. I want to draw even more War Soul troops to pursue us.”

Having said that, Sikong Jing then spread out a map of the Six States of Youyuan belonging to the War Soul Dynasty and began planning the next day’s combat routes with Ning Jingjing and others, just as he had said, drawing more War Soul troops to hunt them down.

Finally, after discussion among everyone, they set the route, the endpoint naturally being an entrance to the Soul Penetration Mountain.

”Boss, why do we need to draw more War Soul troops to pursue us? Can’t we just enter the Soul Penetration Mountain directly?”

Xia Dalian stepped forward, looking at Sikong Jing with confusion.

She belonged to the 66th Army, and her military prowess was gradually showing. She and Sui Yu had become core figures in the 66th Army, all through their own merits.

This question puzzled others like Lian Guang as well. It seemed unnecessary?

Sikong Jing smiled and said, ”We are to infiltrate the War Soul Dynasty, not march in to die... Therefore, we need to ’die’ once in the Soul Penetration Mountain before we can truly disguise ourselves.”

”And with as many as two hundred thousand people, how are we to ’die’?”

”Of course, the more pursuers, the better. Once a large number of us ’die’ in the Soul Penetration Mountain, it will prevent the War Soul Dynasty from discerning whether we are alive or dead... In the end, they will confirm our deaths.”

These words left everyone even more dazed, utterly confused.

And Sikong Jing didn’t explain further but smiled at Xia Dalian, saying, ”You will understand when the time comes, and you and Sui Yu should know better, having once experienced this in Canglong Small Domain.”

The two instinctively exchanged glances, questioning what they had experienced?

In any case, Sikong Jing said no more and ordered the 66th Army to withdraw from Youmei State City and head for another state city.

They would act according to the route just planned...

Shortly after they departed, Lu Lungan arrived, having naturally received the news that the 66th Army had already left.

”Well played, Black Burning Army’s 66th Army, their methods are sufficiently ruthless and decisive.”

Lu Lungan had come to understand just how the 66th Army had taken Youmei State City—it was full of dirty tricks, and now they had decisively pulled out of Youmei State City, leaving him clutching at air.

At that moment, as the sky slowly lit up with the light of dawn, a spy reported that the Long Night Army had already been mobilized.

”Damn Cheng Yusu, wasn’t he intentionally sending the 66th Army to their deaths? And now he’s attacking my Netherworld State City.”

Lu Lungan was furious in his heart, but he was powerless.

The War Soul Dynasty had already been severely beaten by the Dark Wings, and now he had to return with a million Beast Blood Soldiers, for fear of being overwhelmed.

Thus, he could only order the other four states of Youyuan to send troops to pursue and kill the 66th Army.

Everything proceeded just as Sikong Jing had predicted; the 66th Army continued to move along the previously planned route, and after one day, the number of War Soul pursuers had accumulated to a massive two million.

Leading from the front, Sikong Jing spoke slowly, ”The pursuers are nearly enough, we’ll soon enter the Soul Penetration Mountain.”

Shortly after nightfall, the 66th Army finally neared the Soul Penetration Mountain and burst into it in one fell swoop.

Looking towards the dark Soul Penetration Mountain, the two million War Soul pursuers exchanged glances.

Then they received Lu Lungan’s command—to bite down on the 66th Army, slaughter them completely, and absolutely not allow them to vanish within the Soul Penetration Mountain, for the consequences would be unimaginable.

Thus, the 66th Army was pursued within the Soul Penetration Mountain throughout the night until dawn.

At that time, Xia Dalian, running in the front, exclaimed, ”Strange, the demon beasts around us seem unusually restless?”

In the span of one night, they had penetrated deep into the dense jungles of the Soul Penetration Mountain, and the surrounding demon beasts were growing increasingly powerful and terrifying, but just before dawn, in the darkness, an eerie feeling accelerated the heartbeat.

Ning Jingjing and others also sensed it, looking anxiously towards Sikong Jing.

However, Sikong Jing spoke with a smile, ”The restlessness of the demon beasts is just right, we’ve already reached the spot I prepared two days ago, up next will be what you and Sui Yu experienced in the Dark Dragon Mountain Range of the Canglong Small Domain... a Beast Tide!”

The words ”Beast Tide” caused Xia Dalian’s entire body to tremble.

The most terrifying experience of her life was the Beast Tide in the Dark Dragon Mountain Range when Sikong Jing had taken her as a hostage, while her Daxia Dynasty pursuers tried to rescue her.

At that time, she even persuaded Sikong Jing not to resist.

But miraculously, Sikong Jing’s side prevailed, as a Beast Tide suddenly erupted in the Dark Dragon Mountain Range causing heavy losses to the armies of Xia Country.

While Sikong Jing took his troops and hid inside the belly of a horse, evading the Beast Tide’s onslaught as well as the Xia Country’s pursuit, allowing her, the Princess of Xia Country, to endure the most painful defeat.

Thinking about this, Xia Dalian suddenly widened her eyes and stared straight at Sikong Jing, asking, ”Boss, was the Beast Tide in the Dark Dragon Mountain Range back then not a coincidence, not a miracle, but your doing?”

To this question, Sikong Jing replied with a smile, ”What do you think?”

With a sharp shiver, Xia Dalian, who knew about the relationship between Sikong Jing and the human-shaped monster, immediately realized.

The previous Beast Tide was not a coincidence; it was Sikong Jing’s doing.

And he was now preparing to initiate a second Beast Tide within the Soul Penetration Mountain...

Suddenly, Xia Dalian understood the preparations Sikong Jing had mentioned earlier, and why it was better to have more War Soul pursuers.
