Berserk God of War

Chapter 585: Chapter 585: One Month Later, Luohun Road

Upon hearing this, Ji Tan immediately informed Mo Ci of the Beigong Family’s location...

Then Mo Ci vanished from the Prince Manor, and the surrounding ice melted away in an instant.

Ji Tan let out a long breath and then turned to Yan Ruyu, who was almost frozen on the bed, and said, ”Hurry up and get ready, we need to go to the Beigong Family and put on a grand show of mourning, hahaha.”

The Beigong Family was about to be wiped out by Mo Ci.

Although Beigong Xianfeng was already dead, the Beigong Family was still formidable, and they were an important supporter of my father the emperor. Naturally, their destruction would be a cause for great joy.

But of course, Ji Tan had to put on an act and pretend to be heartbroken.

However, just as he was leading Yan Ruyu out of the Prince Mansion, a heaven-shaking roar erupted above the Beigong Family’s location, unmistakably the sound of the Seven Symbols Heavenly Dragon.

The next instant, Shen Qingye’s voice resonated throughout the Long Night Imperial City, ”Mo Ci, we’ve been waiting for you at the Beigong Family for several days.”

Clang!

Tan Yue’s Six Symbols Dragon Sword drew a stunning rainbow arc through the sky, with a drunken smile on his face, he said, ”Mo Ci, your timing is perfect. Our Seven Symbols Heavenly Dragon has reached the Reverse Soul Realm, and today, we will end you.”

Then came Qin Heng’s voice, ”Mo Ci, did you not know that a few days ago we killed a Reverse Soul Realm expert from the Xingluo General Academy? Another one escaped, and yet you dare to come here alone?”

Swish, swish, swish...

Following their words, one after another, the experts from the Long Night Saint Dragon Palace emerged from the Beigong Family, surrounding Mo Ci completely.

The terrifying killing intent chilled the entire Long Night Imperial City to the bone.

Mo Ci’s eyes widened as she stared at everyone and asked, ”How did you all improve so quickly?”

Last time, the Seven Symbols Heavenly Dragon was just at the peak of the Golden Body Realm, and both Shen Qingye and Tan Yue had just reached the Golden Body Realm, yet now the Seven Symbols Heavenly Dragon was at the Reverse Soul Realm, and the other two were at the Third Stage of the Golden Body.

Such a breakthrough speed was simply unthinkable.

”Guess... Kill!”

Shen Qingye, of course, would not explain but instead charged at Mo Ci while riding the Seven Symbols Heavenly Dragon.

Beigong Da had sought protection from the Long Night Saint Dragon Palace a few days ago, and Shen Qingye saw this as an opportunity to severely damage Mo Ci.

So she brought her people to hide within the Beigong Family, waiting for the chance to ambush Mo Ci.

Shen Qingye’s understanding of the Wangyou Sect ran deep. Even if Sikong Jingzhen really followed up on Beigong Xianfeng’s lie, the Wangyou Sect would certainly not let the Beigong Family off the hook easily, as twisted as their hearts were.

And Shen Qingye didn’t want to always hide away; she didn’t want Sikong Jing to bear the identity of a disciple discarded by the Long Night Saint Dragon Palace, so she decided to do something for Sikong Jing, hence unleashing her full power now in this ambush.

Boom, boom, boom...

The fearsome battle erupted above the grounds of the Beigong Family.

But Mo Ci was still too strong; she had been severely injured last time because there was the help of Sikong Jing’s Dark Wing Camp, the full force of the Long Night Saint Dragon Palace, and the Demon Dragon. Although they had improved significantly this time, the situation was still not optimistic.

This earth-shattering battle ultimately ended with Mo Ci injured and fleeing.

As everyone watched Mo Ci leave, Dark Dragon Mountain Master Wu Ding said bitterly, ”Damn it, we still let Mo Ci escape.”

”It was to be expected. Killing Mo Ci is too difficult...”

Shen Qingye held her sword, wiping the fresh blood from the corner of her mouth, and said, ”At least we’ve injured her, which gives us more time to work for Sikong Jing, and the reputation of our Long Night Saint Dragon Palace will only grow louder.”

The crowd stood tall and proud; they were no longer beings the Holy Dragon General Academy could sacrifice at will.

At the same time, Ji Tan’s mouth twitched, and he said bitterly, ”Damn it, how is the Long Night Saint Dragon Palace becoming stronger and stronger?”

The next instant, a cold shadow reappeared—it was Mo Ci, wounded as he was.

”Ji Tan, I will help you ascend to the throne as soon as possible, and when that time comes, I want you to deploy troops to join my Wangyou Sect in annihilating the Long Night Saint Dragon Palace. After that, I will send experts to protect you.”

”Remember, don’t make me wait too long.”

Having said that, Mo Ci disappeared without a trace...

Meanwhile, Ji Tan’s mouth fell agape before his face twisted exaggeratedly, and he burst out laughing wildly: ”Awesome, with the help of the Wangyou Sect, the throne is within my grasp, hahaha...”

At the same time, a gleam shone in Yan Ruyu’s eyes.

”It seems I must also become Ji Tan’s most favored woman as soon as possible, at the very least to have him wed me formally. If possible, I want to eliminate his current Princess Consort quickly.”

In secret, Yan Ruyu plotted various schemes, her heart set on becoming the Empress of the Long Night Empire.

After Mo Ci left, the Long Night Imperial City returned to a stable state with no major incidents occurring.

The battle between the two empires of the Youyuan Twelve States also gradually intensified. Although the Battle Intent of the Long Night Black Burning Army was lacking, Cheng Yusu still relied on his old resources from the Dark Wings, trading blow for blow with Lu Lungan.

In the blink of an eye, a month had passed.

In the War Soul Dynasty, in Wang Hun State, there was a place that struck terror into countless people, known as Luohun Road.

Luohun Road, situated at the westernmost edge of the Soul Penetration Mountain Range, is no longer filled with strong demon beasts, and it serves as the essential pathway for several large cities, including Wang Hun State City, to reach the War Soul Imperial Capital.

However, a cunning and vicious band of mountain bandits plagued the area.

They had a reputation for cruelty, attacking ordinary merchant caravans with fire and sword, charging tolls from the more capable ones, and when pursued by military forces, they would immediately vanish into the Soul Penetration Mountains...

They were shadowy and elusive, self-proclaimed soul thieves.

Having established themselves for a full three years, the merchants of Wang Hun State were left deeply aggrieved, and the War Soul Dynasty found itself powerless to tackle them.

On this very day, within Wuwang City located a hundred kilometers away from Luohun Road.

The city bustled with liveliness as the streets teemed with martial artists of all kinds—elegant young swordsmen, brawny men, and noble youths trailed by their entourages...

At Yingyue Building, the largest tavern in Wuwang City.

A most ordinary-looking young man leaned against a window, sipping his wine and watching the busy street, seemingly tranquil and unremarkable.

Thud, thud...

The footsteps heralded the arrival of a valiant-looking woman in red, who took a seat opposite him and said straightaway, ”Boss, the supplies in Wuwang City are very scarce; I could only procure enough for a few days.”

The young man looked up slightly and then poured the woman a cup of wine, smiling as he said, ”Luohun Road seems to be a decent stronghold.”

He didn’t address the issue with the supplies but instead smiled softly.

The woman in red shuddered slightly: ”Does the Boss mean to... conquer the Soul Stealers and take their place?”

”Correct, I led the 66th Army to the War Soul Dynasty primarily to avoid Cheng Yusu’s suspicion and to keep my identity as the Dark Wing Commander hidden,” the young man explained, who was, of course, Sikong Jing.

Opposite him sat Ning Jingjing.

A month later, they had traversed the Soul Penetration Mountain Range from the eastern side, that is, from the direction of the Youyuan Twelve States, to the west.

They had arrived in the War Soul Dynasty’s Wang Hun State.

At this moment, the 66th Army was still inside the Soul Penetration Mountain Range, while Sikong Jing, accompanied by Ning Jingjing, had come to gather supplies. More importantly, they were there to gather intelligence and bestow a reliable identity upon the 200,000 soldiers of the 66th Army.

An identity that would allow them to temporarily settle in the War Soul Dynasty, and taking over the identity of the soul thieves seemed just right.
