Wizard: Grinding from Knight to Primogenitor

Chapter 92: Chapter 90: Tier Eight Fearsome Claw Bear, Known by the Whole Nation

Time flew by.

Half a month passed in the blink of an eye.

Just as Roy had predicted, after receiving his ”greeting gift,” the Ironblood Duke did not immediately come to Yorkshire to cause him trouble.

Having his subordinate killed was indeed a major loss of face.

But compared to regaining his honor, the ownership of the Royal Capital was far more important.

Although he didn’t come to Yorkshire to cause trouble right away, the Ironblood Duke did take some action.

For instance, he issued a bounty for the assassination of the Dark Night Knight.

As a Duke, the Ironblood Duke’s bounty was much more generous than Count Rock Lion’s.

The title of Count and a corresponding Earl’s Domain!

Whoever killed the Dark Night Knight would be ennobled as a Count and granted a matching Earl’s Domain.

When the Ironblood Duke first issued this bounty, many people were interested.

However, after learning that the Dark Night Knight had eliminated James in just two moves, they all lost interest.

Looking at the reward alone, the bounty was indeed very tempting.

But compared to the difficulty of the assassination, the reward could only be considered average.

James was no unknown nobody; he was an undisputed Bronze Great Knight.

More importantly, he had a track record of killing other Bronze Great Knights.

Even so, the Dark Night Knight still only needed two moves to kill him.

After the details of the battle spread, many began to speculate that the Dark Night Knight was already a Silver Great Knight.

But within a few days, people dismissed this speculation.

Because news got out that the Dark Night Knight had only been a Peak Knight just six months ago.

This information wasn’t spread by Roy with Sandru’s help; rather, it was uncovered by those who were interested in the Dark Night Knight themselves.

In a way, the Ironblood Duke’s bounty had turned into a promotional campaign for the Dark Night Knight.

As a result, the Dark Night Knight, who was originally only famous in Yorkshire and a few neighboring counties, quickly became known throughout the kingdom.

In tandem, a great deal of information and news related to the Dark Night Knight also began to spread widely.

For instance, all sorts of information about him became common knowledge: he had been a Bounty Hunter for less than two years; he was only a High Tier Knight when he first started out; just over six months ago, he was still a Peak Knight. He had a bad temper and had beaten up many who tried to hire him. His mission success rate was one hundred percent—he had never failed. He had no interest in wine or women, was an introvert with no friends, and wore a mask because he was ugly—among other rumors.

After learning that the Ironblood Duke had issued the bounty, Roy guessed that many people would be investigating the Dark Night Knight, both openly and secretly.

He hadn’t paid much attention to these matters at first.

However, when even Tony came running to ask if he had ever seen the Dark Night Knight’s face without the mask, he knew that unless he revealed he himself was the Dark Night Knight, his alter ego would never be able to shake off the ”ugly” label.

...

「Chaos Square.」

Roy was cultivating the Mammoth Breathing Technique with intense focus.

Half a month of Cultivation had brought his Mammoth Breathing Technique to the brink of the Tier Seven Limit.

A little over half an hour later, the Skill Proficiency Panel displayed a message that the Breathing Technique had leveled up.

[Mammoth Breathing Technique has been upgraded!]

[Mammoth Breathing Technique: Tier Seven (Limit), Effect: Middle Level Power (Can be fused with Iron Claw Bear Breathing Technique to upgrade)]

Without any hesitation, he immediately opened the Skill Proficiency Panel, his eyes falling on the Iron Claw Bear Breathing Technique.

[Iron Claw Bear Breathing Technique: Tier Seven (Limit), Effect: Middle Level Power (Can be fused with Mammoth Breathing Technique to upgrade)]

[Upgrade Iron Claw Bear Breathing Technique?]

Roy looked at the message before him with a calm expression and selected ”Yes.”

Just as when the Ice Wolf King Breathing Method upgraded into the Frost Moon Silver Wolf Breathing Technique, the Iron Claw Bear Seed pounced on the Mammoth Seed—which had just reached the Tier Seven Limit—like a predator catching its prey.

The Mammoth Seed was shattered without any suspense, breaking into countless fragments of various sizes.

The Iron Claw Bear Seed emitted a powerful suction force, devouring the fragments of the Mammoth Seed like a black hole.

Soon, after devouring all the Mammoth Seed fragments, the Iron Claw Bear Seed swelled to the same size as the Frost Moon Silver Wolf Seed.

Once it was no longer at a disadvantage in size, a roar immediately echoed from within the Iron Claw Bear Seed.

At the same time, a wolf’s howl sounded from within the Frost Moon Silver Wolf Seed.

After roaring at each other for a few seconds, the Iron Claw Bear Seed and the Frost Moon Silver Wolf Seed fell silent. They settled on the left and right, each occupying half of the Sea of Life.

[Fearsome Claw Bear Breathing Technique: Tier Eight (1/50,000), Effect: High Level Power]

[High Level Power: Your Strength Attribute is permanently increased by 80%.]

’Is the Fearsome Claw Bear the superior species to the Iron Claw Bear?’

Roy had thought Chaos Square would provide an introduction to the Fearsome Claw Bear, just like last time.

However, it turned out he had been overthinking things.

He waited patiently for a minute, but no introduction from Chaos Square appeared.

Realizing Chaos Square wasn’t going to provide an introduction for the Fearsome Claw Bear, he closed the Skill Proficiency Panel.

As usual, he first circulated his Fighting Qi to sense the improvement brought by the Horror Claw Bear Seed.

’One-third!’

After the Iron Claw Bear Seed upgraded into the Horror Claw Bear Seed, his total amount of Fighting Qi had increased by about one-third.

After sensing the increase in his Fighting Qi, he went to the corner where he kept miscellaneous items and took out the small box used specifically for storing Exemplary Breathing Technique Inheritance Maps.

Inside the box were now a total of eight Excellent Level Breathing Technique Inheritance Maps.

The Strength Type techniques: the Iron Claw Bear Breathing Technique, the Rock Lion Breathing Technique, and the Giant Tusk Beast Breathing Technique!

The Speed Type techniques: the Golden Eagle Breathing Skill, the Centaur Breathing Technique, and the Lightning Falcon Breathing Technique!

The Constitution Type technique: the Giant Horned Rhinoceros Breathing Method!

The Defense Type technique: the Bronze Bear Breathing Technique!

Except for the Golden Eagle Breathing Skill from Catherine, which was a Universal Breathing Technique, all the others were Bloodline Breathing Techniques.

However, for Roy, who possessed the Chaos Square, there was no difference between a Bloodline Breathing Technique and a Universal Breathing Technique.

He didn’t take out the Inheritance Maps for any other Breathing Techniques, only retrieving the ones for the Giant Horned Rhinoceros Breathing Method and the Bronze Bear Breathing Technique.

After looking them over several times, he decided to cultivate the Giant Horned Rhinoceros Breathing Method next.

Although he didn’t currently have any other Constitution Type Exemplary Breathing Techniques, he knew that the Adams Clan’s Giant Monster Breathing Technique was one.

Having made his decision, he returned the Bronze Bear Breathing Technique’s Inheritance Map to the box and walked to the center of the square with the Inheritance Map for the Giant Horned Rhinoceros Breathing Method.

Taking a deep breath, he began his Cultivation of the Giant Horned Rhinoceros Breathing Method.

Time passed, bit by bit.

In less than half an hour, he had successfully initiated his practice of the Giant Horned Rhinoceros Breathing Method.

[Giant Horned Rhinoceros Breathing Method Skill Level +3]

[Giant Horned Rhinoceros Breathing Method: Tier One (3/1,000)]

He now possessed two Tier Eight Seeds, so even though the Giant Horned Rhinoceros Breathing Method was of the Excellent Level, cultivating it was still very simple.

Closing the Skill Proficiency Panel, Roy returned to the corner with the miscellaneous items and placed the Inheritance Map for the Giant Horned Rhinoceros Breathing Method back in the box.

He checked the situation in his bedroom and, after confirming no one was there, left the Chaos Square and returned to his room.
