Wizard: Grinding from Knight to Primogenitor

Chapter 91: Chapter 89: Messenger, High Level Power Effect

’How is this possible?’

James stared at Roy, who was just inches away, his face a mask of shock.

Although he hadn’t thought much of the Dark Night Knight, he had done some investigating after arriving at Rock Lion Castle. He’d asked Wagner and Mitchell for a full account of how the Dark Night Knight had defeated Count Rock Lion.

In other words, he knew the Dark Night Knight possessed a Secret Technique that used sonic attacks to instill intense fear in his targets.

Even though he didn’t know the specifics of this Secret Technique, he hadn’t let his guard down and had already devised a countermeasure.

’Block my ears with Fighting Qi!’

The countermeasure he had come up with was simple: block his ears with Fighting Qi.

In his view, even if this couldn’t completely negate the technique’s effects, it should at least greatly diminish them.

As it turned out, he had been far too naive.

On the surface, Dragon’s Battle Roar was indeed a sonic-type Secret Technique.

But in reality, Dragon Mighty was the core of the Dragon’s Battle Roar.

Never mind that James had only blocked his ears with Fighting Qi; even if he had completely sealed off all five of his senses, he still couldn’t have resisted the effects of Dragon Mighty.

As an expression of disbelief crossed James’s face, Roy swung the Fighting Qi·Destruction Sword in his hand.

SWISH!

The massive Fighting Qi·Destruction Sword carved a graceful arc through the air, instantly slashing across James’s neck!

Without any suspense, James’s head flew high into the air from the momentum. Blood sprayed from the severed neck and head, raining down like droplets.

Roy didn’t let the blood spatter on him, immediately enveloping his entire body in Fighting Qi.

At the same time, he charged toward the four Peak Knights behind James.

SWISH! SWISH! SWISH!

Before James’s head and headless corpse even hit the ground, Roy had already cut down three of the Peak Knights.

He could have killed the last Peak Knight just as easily, but he chose not to. He deliberately spared the man’s life.

He needed a Messenger to deliver a message to the Ironblood Duke!

However, he still lopped off the Peak Knight’s right hand.

’He just needs to deliver a message to the Ironblood Duke. As long as his head is still attached, he’ll be fine.’

’As for the other parts, it doesn’t matter if some are missing.’

After cutting off the man’s right hand, Roy rested his Fighting Qi·Destruction Sword on the knight’s shoulder and asked calmly, ”What’s your name?”

”William!”

”My name is William Cochran!”

William fought back the pain from his severed arm and answered quickly.

”Do you know why I’m sparing you?”

Roy continued.

William shook his head.

”I need a Messenger to deliver a message to the Ironblood Duke. You looked the weakest, so I chose you.”

”Go back and tell the Ironblood Duke that I’m coming for his head. Tell him to wash his neck and wait.”

”Take the heads of James and the other three back with you. Consider them my welcoming gift to him.”

After speaking, without waiting for William’s reply, Roy dispelled his Fighting Qi·Destruction Sword and the Fighting Qi covering his body.

Then, he turned to Wagner and Mitchell and continued, ”Hang the bodies of James and his men at the castle gates.”

”If Catherine returns, just tell her I was the one who ordered you to do it.”

As soon as he finished, Wagner and Mitchell replied in unison, ”Yes, milord!”

Roy said nothing more and turned to leave.

Soon, he vanished from William, Wagner, and Mitchell’s sight.

After leaving Rock Lion Castle, Roy took off his mask and started back toward Ice Wolf Castle.

Sprinting the entire way, he returned to Ice Wolf Castle in less than twenty minutes.

Just like before, he climbed through the window into his bedroom.

When Catherine saw him return, she looked at him with surprise and said quickly, ”How are you back so soon?”

Only a little over half an hour had passed since he left Ice Wolf Castle.

Catherine knew his speed was no slower than a Warhorse.

But she had never imagined Roy was fast enough to make a round trip between Ice Wolf Castle and Rock Lion Castle in just over half an hour.

Roy wasn’t surprised by Catherine’s astonishment at his quick return.

Catherine didn’t know he was a Silver Great Knight, nor did she know he possessed the Advanced Speed effect.

”I cultivate a Speed Type Breathing Technique. Speed is my strong suit.”

Roy looked at Catherine calmly.

He was telling the truth.

Before his Iron Claw Bear Breathing Technique was upgraded to Tier Eight, agility was his strongest physical attribute.

”Are James and his men all dead now?” Catherine continued to ask.

”No. I left one of them alive, a Peak Knight named William. I had him deliver a message to the Ironblood Duke and take the heads of James and the others back as a welcoming gift.”

Roy sat down on the sofa and spoke unhurriedly.

Catherine sat down beside him, her brow furrowed. ”The Ironblood Duke will be furious when he receives your ’welcoming gift’.”

”If he decides to come after you recklessly, you’ll be in great danger.”

Hearing her words, Roy smiled. ”No matter how furious he gets, he won’t come after me himself right away. Not unless he’s willing to give up the Royal Capital.”

”And as for sending his subordinates... James was already one of his top three men.”

He had no intention of letting the Ironblood Duke off the hook, but he also had no interest in traveling all the way to the Royal Capital just to assassinate him.

The Ironblood Duke was the one whose men had been killed, not the other way around. Roy felt no need to rush to assassinate him.

Besides, before killing the Ironblood Duke, he planned to acquire a few more Tier Eight Life Seeds for himself.

His Mammoth Breathing Technique needed just over 30,000 more Skill Level points to reach the Tier Seven Limit.

And after advancing to Silver Great Knight, he could now increase his Breathing Technique’s Skill Level by about 300 points for every hour of cultivation.

In other words, he only needed a little over 100 hours of cultivation to get his Mammoth Breathing Technique to the Tier Seven Limit.

At that point, his Iron Claw Bear Seed could absorb the Mammoth Seed and advance to Tier Eight.

Although he didn’t know what the Iron Claw Bear Seed would become after it was upgraded, he was certain of one thing: the upgraded seed would grant him the High Level Power Effect.

”Under normal circumstances, it’s true that the Ironblood Duke isn’t likely to abandon the Royal Capital just to come to Yorkshire to deal with you.”

”But you can never be too careful. What if he really does come...?”

Before Catherine could finish, Roy cut her off.

”If he really comes, then I’ll just kill him.”

Roy said with a calm expression.

Although she didn’t know the source of his confidence, Catherine didn’t press the issue. She lay down on the sofa, resting her head on his lap like a lazy kitten.

「The next morning.」

After breakfast, Catherine mounted her white Warhorse and left Ice Wolf Castle, heading back to Rock Lion Castle.

If it were up to her, she wouldn’t have minded staying at Ice Wolf Castle indefinitely.

But Roy had still sent her back.

The reason was simple: during the two days Catherine had been at Ice Wolf Castle, his cultivation time had been drastically reduced.

To be precise, his cultivation of the Purgatory Dragon Meditation Method had stopped completely.

He used to replace sleep with cultivating his Meditation Technique.

But for the past two nights, he had fallen asleep holding Catherine’s fiery body in his arms.

After Catherine left Ice Wolf Castle, Roy didn’t hesitate. He immediately returned to his bedroom, closed the door and windows, and with a thought, entered Chaos Square to begin cultivating his Mammoth Breathing Technique.
