Wizard: Grinding from Knight to Primogenitor

Chapter 59: Chapter 57: Magic Stone, Third-class Apprentice

’What just happened?’

Allen, watching from the sidelines, looked at Roy and Miria in confusion.

Although he had witnessed the entire fight, he still didn’t know what had transpired.

He had only seen Miria attack Roy first, only for Roy to easily neutralize her attack.

Then, Miria had pulled back, and Roy had pursued her.

Finally, Miria had abruptly stopped, withdrawn all her Fighting Qi, and stood frozen in place, trembling with a terrified expression as she allowed Roy to place his Cross Sword against her neck.

Forget him, the bystander; even Miria herself had no idea what had just occurred.

She only felt a terrifying aura instantly envelop her, bringing with it an overwhelming and irrepressible fear.

The moment the Dragon Mighty washed over her, she lost the ability to think, left with nothing but instinctual terror.

Seeing the terrified look on Miria’s face, Roy first withdrew the Dragon Mighty enveloping her, then sheathed his sword.

He had assumed that once he retracted the Dragon Mighty, Miria would gradually recover.

As it turned out, he had been a bit too optimistic.

He had withdrawn the Dragon Mighty, but the terrified expression on Miria’s face didn’t fade.

Not only that, but it was as if all her spirit had been drained away. Her legs gave out, and she collapsed weakly to the ground, her forehead beaded with sweat.

Er...

’Looks like I overdid it a little!’

Seeing Miria crumpled on the ground like a terrified, helpless little girl, Roy realized he had underestimated the power of Basic Dragon Mighty—or rather, overestimated Miria’s ability to withstand it.

To find out just how strong his Basic Dragon Mighty was, he hadn’t held back at all, unleashing its full force in one go.

’Instill intense fear in beasts and humans far weaker than oneself!’

Although the Skill Proficiency Panel had given that description, he hadn’t paid much mind to the ”intense fear” effect, treating it as just a generic description.

Now he knew. It wasn’t a generic description at all, but a very accurate one.

”What did you do to her?” Allen rushed over and demanded of Roy.

He had known Miria for a long time.

But this was the first time he had ever seen her look so terrified and distraught.

Miria, crumpled on the ground with that look of terror, seemed as if she had just experienced something unimaginably horrifying.

”Nothing much. I just released a bit of killing intent,” Roy replied.

Even though Allen was Erin’s younger brother, Roy still had no intention of telling him that he had used Dragon Mighty.

”Are you sure you only released killing intent?” Allen said with a frown.

”Maybe my killing intent is just particularly strong.”

”Let’s not talk about this. You should take her back to her room.”

Roy glanced around and replied nonchalantly.

Although his fight with Miria had only lasted a second or two, it had still drawn quite a bit of attention.

To be precise, Miria, collapsed on the ground, had attracted the gazes of several inn employees.

These employees didn’t know why Roy and Miria had been fighting.

However, from their perspective, Roy had just been a bully, using his strength to gracelessly pick on a woman weaker than him.

Allen nodded and immediately helped the collapsed Miria to her feet.

Roy picked up the Silver Cross Sword that Miria had dropped on the ground.

Just as he was about to return the Silver Cross Sword to the scabbard at Miria’s waist, she flinched back several steps like a startled animal, her eyes wide with fear as she stared at him.

Roy sighed helplessly and handed the Silver Cross Sword to Allen.

Allen took the Silver Cross Sword and helped Miria leave the courtyard, disappearing from Roy’s sight.

After they left, Roy shook his head and walked toward the main hall.

After eating lunch in the hall, he returned to his room.

He closed the door and, without any hesitation, immediately entered the Chaos Square.

Walking over to the corner he used for Alchemy, he laid out his Alchemy Vessels one by one, took out the materials he had bought that morning, and began to create a Basic Healing Potion.

Perhaps it was because both his Spiritual Power and Alchemy Level had increased.

Even though it had been a while since he last made a Basic Potion, he successfully created a Basic Healing Potion without a hitch.

After confirming there were no issues with the potion’s efficacy, he began creating a second Basic Healing Potion.

「Time flew by.」

Five or six hours passed in the blink of an eye.

’Has the success rate really reached 40%?’

Looking at the four Basic Healing Potions and four Vitality Potions neatly arranged before him, Roy wore a satisfied expression.

He clearly remembered that the first time he had ever created a Basic Potion, his success rate for a Basic Healing Potion was 14%.

And for a Basic Vitality Potion, it was 20%.

He knew that his creation success rate would improve after his Alchemy Level and Spiritual Power increased, but he never expected it to jump straight to 40%.

According to the records in *Basic Potion Making: From Beginner to Expert*, if a Third-class Apprentice from the Pharmacy Department could achieve a 25% success rate when creating Basic Potions, they would be considered an outstanding Apprentice Alchemist.

And now, his success rate had reached 40%.

After some thought, Roy attributed his creation success rate, which far surpassed that of a Third-class Apprentice from the Pharmacy Department, to the Chaos Square.

In his view, a large part of the credit for his 40% success rate belonged to the Chaos Square.

He didn’t know how the Chaos Square managed it, but if he had to guess, it was likely similar to how it drastically increased the efficiency of his Cultivation Breathing Technique and Meditation Technique.

After clearing the debris from the table, Roy collected the eight newly created potions into a Potion Box designed for storage, arranging them neatly inside.

This Potion Box, just over 70 centimeters long, 50 centimeters wide, and 40 centimeters high, held all the potions he had ever created.

Among them were 16 Basic Healing Potions and 13 Basic Vitality Potions.

He hadn’t used a single one of the potions he had created.

On one hand, he hadn’t yet encountered an enemy that required him to ”chug potions” to deal with.

On the other hand, he planned to exchange these potions for Magic Stones.

Magic Stones were the currency used by Wizards—black stones that contained energy.

Besides being used as currency, Magic Stones could also serve as a power source for Witch Arrays.

Based on their energy content, Magic Stones were divided into three grades: high, medium, and low, with a very user-friendly exchange rate of 1:100:10,000.

Closing the Potion Box, Roy looked up at the gray fog before him and observed the situation in his room.

The next moment, with a single thought, he vanished, returning from the Chaos Square to his room at the inn.

After resting for a moment on the sofa in his room’s sitting area, he stood up, left the room, and headed for the main hall.

It wasn’t long before he arrived in the hall.

After asking a waiter to recommend some of the Royal Capital’s specialty dishes, he waited for his dinner while contemplating his plans for the evening.

...
