Wizard: Grinding from Knight to Primogenitor

Chapter 89: Chapter 87: Misunderstanding and Adventure

Before long, Catherine arrived at the main gate of Ice Wolf Castle on her white warhorse.

Although she had inherited her title some time ago, the soldiers guarding the main gate didn’t recognize her.

This was quite normal.

Forget her; even if the Ironblood Duke himself came, the soldiers wouldn’t recognize him either.

This wasn’t the technologically advanced Blue Star. Knowing someone’s name but not their face was a very common occurrence here.

Catherine knew these soldiers didn’t recognize her, so she spoke up. ”I am Catherine Olsen. I’m here to see Roy Wesley on an urgent matter.”

Upon hearing her, the soldiers by the gate exchanged a glance before giving her a slight bow.

Although they couldn’t be certain she was telling the truth, they could tell one thing for sure: Catherine was absolutely a noble lady.

If nothing else, a single glance at the Cross Sword at her waist—its hilt and scabbard inlaid with gold and gemstones—was enough to tell them her background was far from ordinary.

”Count, please follow me,”

one of the young soldiers said to Catherine.

Catherine nodded and followed him into Ice Wolf Castle.

The young soldier led her to a reception hall on the first floor of the main keep.

She had barely sat down when Roy arrived in the reception hall.

”What are you doing here?”

Roy looked at Catherine, surprised.

”It isn’t convenient to talk here. Can we go to your room?”

Catherine stood up, walked over to Roy, and replied in a soft voice.

”Of course!”

Roy nodded.

Although Catherine didn’t say more, he had already guessed what she was about to discuss with him.

’It’s obvious she’s here about the Dark Night Knight. That’s the only reason she would say it’s inconvenient to talk here.’

Upon hearing Roy’s reply, Catherine grabbed his right arm and pressed her sultry body against his.

Roy didn’t stop her, leading her toward his bedroom.

They had just left the reception hall when they ran into Tony and Erin in the corridor.

This...

Tony and Erin’s faces showed surprise when they saw Catherine clinging intimately to Roy’s right arm.

Before they could say a word, Roy explained, ”Catherine and I have something to discuss in private. I was just taking her to my bedroom.”

The moment he finished, knowing smiles spread across Tony and Erin’s faces.

”In that case, Erin and I will come back later to pay our respects to the Count.”

Tony said with a smile.

Then, he immediately led Erin away.

”It seems they’ve gotten the wrong idea,”

Catherine said softly.

”With the way you’re acting, it’d be a miracle if they didn’t.”

”Never mind them. Let’s go upstairs.”

Roy spoke slowly, having seen the smiles on Tony and Erin’s faces and guessed what they were thinking.

”Mhm,”

Catherine immediately replied.

「The second-floor bedroom.」

Roy closed the bedroom door and turned to Catherine, who was sitting on the sofa. ”Have the Ironblood Duke’s men arrived?”

”How did you know it was them?”

Catherine asked in return.

”It’s not hard to guess. Your father was the Ironblood Duke’s vassal.”

”If his vassal were killed and he didn’t react at all, that would be unacceptable.”

”Especially since he’s planning to establish his own duchy soon. At a time like this, even if he personally detested your father, he would have to kill the Dark Night Knight.”

”Otherwise, the other three Dukes would see him as weak and easily bullied.”

After speaking, Roy sat down next to Catherine.

He had already considered this point before killing Count Rock Lion.

Although it would offend the Ironblood Duke, he had done it anyway.

For anyone else, offending the Ironblood Duke would have severe consequences.

But for him, it wasn’t a major issue.

Even if the situation took the worst possible turn, it would just mean taking Tony, Erin, and Catherine and making a run for it for a while.

”The Ironblood Duke has sent James, his Captain of the Personal Guard.”

”He’s ordered James to bring your head back to him, and he’s also demanding that I marry his youngest son, Vincent...”

Without hesitation, Catherine recounted everything—the Ironblood Duke’s demands and how James had threatened her with the annihilation of the Wesley Clan.

After she finished, Roy fell silent. ’After I kill James,’ he thought, ’should I just go straight to the Royal Capital and kill the Ironblood Duke too?’

Seeing his silence, Catherine said worriedly, ”If you’re not confident you can handle him, we can leave here and start over somewhere else.”

”No, I wasn’t thinking about leaving,” Roy said slowly. ”I was just thinking about what comes after I kill James.”

”You’re confident you can kill James?”

”He’s no ordinary Bronze Great Knight. He has a track record of killing other Bronze Great Knights.”

Like Tony, Catherine didn’t know he had advanced to Silver Great Knight, so she spoke quickly.

”Don’t worry. I wouldn’t risk my own life.”

”If I’m willing to meet him, it means I’m confident I can kill him.”

Roy looked at Catherine calmly.

Despite his words, Catherine still felt that meeting James was far too risky.

When she had decided to come to Ice Wolf Castle to warn Roy herself, she had already prepared herself to leave the Laine Kingdom with him.

After more than ten seconds of silence, Catherine spoke again. ”Have you already advanced to Bronze Great Knight?”

”Mhm, I broke through to Bronze Great Knight a few days ago,”

Roy replied.

Although he had told Sandru and Catherine he had advanced to Black Iron Great Knight just four months ago, he still decided to only conceal his true strength by one level.

’Advancing from Black Iron Great Knight to Bronze Great Knight in only four months sounds a little exaggerated, but it’s not completely impossible. Whether it’s Black Iron or Bronze, they’re both just Great Knights; there’s no fundamental difference. Simply put, they’re just different stages within the same realm. As long as your Fighting Qi meets the requirements, forget four months—advancing in just one month is perfectly normal.’

Hearing Roy’s answer, Catherine looked surprised at first, then said softly, ”No wonder you could tame Xiaobai so easily. If you and Xiaobai fight together, you actually have a chance of killing James.”

”I won’t take Xiaobai with me,” Roy said slowly, stroking Catherine’s hair. ”Xiaobai is Roy Wesley’s mount, not the Dark Night Knight’s.”

’Not taking Xiaobai?’

Catherine’s heart, which had just been put at ease, leaped back into her throat.

”I understand you want to handle James on your own, but you only just advanced,” Catherine said quickly.

”Just because I recently advanced doesn’t necessarily mean I’m weaker than James.”

”Don’t worry,” Roy replied. ”I’ve already come up with a plan to deal with him.”
