Wizard: Grinding from Knight to Primogenitor

Chapter 90: Chapter 88: Three Moves, the Dark Night Knight’s Exit

That evening.

In the dining hall on the first floor of Ice Wolf Castle.

Roy and Catherine were enjoying dinner.

Because of Catherine’s arrival, Tony had specifically instructed the kitchen to prepare a more lavish dinner than usual.

When dinner first began, he and Erin were in high spirits.

They didn’t know the true purpose of Catherine’s visit to the castle and instinctively assumed she had come specifically to spend time with Roy and deepen their relationship.

More importantly, Roy and Catherine had stayed in the bedroom the entire time, only leaving for the dining hall just before dinner started.

A young, virile couple spending an entire afternoon in a bedroom... It was hard not to let one’s mind wander to more adult matters.

It was only natural for them to think that way.

Besides, what they imagined was, in fact, the truth.

After discussing the matter of James, Roy and Catherine had indeed begun their ”adult” card game in the bedroom.

However, not long after dinner began, the smiles vanished from Tony and Erin’s faces.

Roy had told them about James’s arrival.

Tony and Erin had never heard the name James before. But upon learning that he was the Captain of the Personal Guard for the Ironblood Duke—and that he was in Yorkshire on the Duke’s orders to kill the Dark Night Knight—they immediately realized the gravity of the situation.

”Is Lord Dark Night Knight confident he can kill James?”

Tony asked Roy slowly, his expression grave.

”He should be.”

”If he wasn’t confident, my master wouldn’t have agreed to Catherine’s proposal to go to Rock Lion Castle tomorrow at noon.”

Roy replied.

After hearing his answer, Tony continued, ”Even if Lord Dark Night Knight kills James, this won’t be over. It will only become more and more troublesome.”

”Although I’ve never met the Ironblood Duke, if James is killed, there’s a high probability he’ll come to Yorkshire himself. When that happens...”

Before Tony could finish, Roy cut him off, saying calmly, ”Don’t worry. My master will certainly find a way to handle these things.”

”Besides, other than trusting my master, there’s nothing we can do to help right now.”

That might be so, but Tony still couldn’t feel at ease.

He hadn’t heard of James before and didn’t know what kind of person he was.

But he was no stranger to the Ironblood Duke.

Setting aside his title, territory, and armies...

The mere fact that the Ironblood Duke was a Silver Great Knight was enough to make it difficult for anyone to relax.

After a moment of thought, Tony slowly asked, ”Are you going to Rock Lion Castle tomorrow as well?”

”No.”

”Even if I went, I wouldn’t be of any help. I’m better off staying in the castle to focus on my Cultivation. That’s my master’s wish as well.”

”Besides, my master has instructed me to go all out in practicing my Cultivation Breathing Technique and strive to advance to Peak Knight as soon as possible.”

”Alright, let’s not talk about this anymore. Let’s eat. The food is getting cold.”

Roy replied unhurriedly.

Tony nodded, dropping the subject.

After dinner, Roy took Catherine back to the bedroom.

The moment he closed the bedroom door, Catherine spoke up. ”Are you really not going to let Tony know that you’re the Dark Night Knight?”

”He cares a lot about you. Isn’t it a bit wrong to keep hiding it from him?”

Roy didn’t answer Catherine right away. Instead, he wrapped an arm around her slender, alluring waist and led her to sit on the sofa.

Then, he replied calmly, ”It’s true that it’s not great to keep hiding it from him, but it would only be more troublesome if he knew the truth. It’s better to keep things simple.”

”Besides, I don’t plan on using the identity of the Dark Night Knight forever.”

”Once my public Level also reaches Great Knight, the Dark Night Knight will slowly fade away until he disappears from public view completely.”

He had been wondering what kind of exit to arrange for the Dark Night Knight.

After learning that the Ironblood Duke wanted the Dark Night Knight’s head, he quickly came up with a plan.

’I’ll use the head of the Ironblood Duke and the destruction of the Reilly Clan as the Dark Night Knight’s curtain call in the Laine Kingdom.’

’After that, the Dark Night Knight can use the excuse of traveling the continent or entering secluded Cultivation to vanish from people’s sight.’

”So, once your public Level reaches Great Knight, does that mean you can marry me?”

Catherine looked at Roy with anticipation, her voice soft.

Roy hadn’t expected her first thought to be about him marrying her. He smiled and said, ”We’ll see when the time comes.”

”Mhm!”

Although she didn’t get the answer she wanted, the ever-understanding Catherine didn’t press him further and simply nodded.

...

「The next day at noon.」

In the forest near Rock Lion Castle.

Roy retrieved the Dark Night Knight’s mask from Chaos Square and put it on.

With the mask on, he strode openly toward Rock Lion Castle without any hesitation.

Catherine hadn’t come with him. She had remained at Ice Wolf Castle to provide him with an alibi.

Soon, the Knights and soldiers guarding the walls and main gate spotted his figure.

Roy didn’t enter Rock Lion Castle. He stopped about a hundred meters from the main gate.

Before long, James’s party, along with Wagner and the others, appeared in his line of sight.

”Why are you alone? Where is Catherine Olsen?”

James demanded immediately upon seeing he was by himself.

Roy didn’t answer him. He gave them a simple glance, raised his right hand, and materialized a Fighting Qi·Destruction Sword. ”Three moves,” he stated unhurriedly. ”I will only make three strikes.”

”If you aren’t dead after three strikes, I’ll give you my head!”

’Three moves?’

Hearing Roy’s words, James was stunned for a moment before an expression like he was looking at an idiot appeared on his face.

”I’d like to see how you plan to take my life in three strikes!”

The moment the words left his mouth, black Fighting Qi erupted from James’s body.

Under his control, the black Fighting Qi, which burned like raging flames, instantly solidified into Fighting Qi Armor and a Fighting Qi Cross Sword.

At the same time, he radiated an incomparably powerful aura.

Wagner, Mitchell, and the others were immediately shocked by the aura James was emitting.

They knew James was a Bronze Great Knight.

But they never imagined he could release such an astonishing aura just by forming his Fighting Qi Armor and Fighting Qi Cross Sword.

Everyone, except for Roy and the four Peak Knights James had brought with him, was intimidated by his aura.

’His aura is quite impressive!’

’Too bad an aura can’t kill anyone.’

After that brief internal remark, Roy wasted no time. He pushed off his feet with explosive force, shooting toward James.

James stood his ground with a calm expression, allowing Roy to charge at him.

In the blink of an eye, Roy was right in front of him.

Dragon’s Battle Roar!

As he swung his Fighting Qi·Destruction Sword, he opened his mouth, locked onto James with his Spiritual Power, and let out a roar like that of an Ancient Giant Dragon.

ROAR!!!

The roar, infused with Dragon Mighty, instantly resounded throughout all of Rock Lion Castle!

Having been locked onto by Roy’s Spiritual Power, the calm expression on James’s face vanished without a trace.

In its place was unrestrainable shock.
