Wizard: Grinding from Knight to Primogenitor

Chapter 71: Chapter 69: Students, Chaotic Situation

Tony didn’t know if the Dark Night Knight was a noble.

He was bowing to the Dark Night Knight now purely out of gratitude for his help last night and respect for a Great Knight.

”There’s no need for such pleasantries, Lord Baron.”

Roy circulated his Fighting Qi to alter his voice, speaking to Tony in a deep, weary tone.

After some simple pleasantries, they sat on the sofa in the reception area.

Before Tony could speak, Roy spoke first. ”Sandru has already told me why you wanted to see me.”

”I can tell you definitively that the bounty hunters who attacked Ice Wolf Castle last night were hired by the Knight Clan and the Sheen Clan.”

”The one who gave them that advice was none other than your former Captain of the Personal Guard, Adam.”

”As for how they got in, you should already know, Lord Baron, so I won’t waste my breath.”

”As for why I helped, it’s simple. Your younger brother, Roy Wesley, is my student.”

”Before he left Yorkshire, he asked me to look after the Wesley Clan.”

”Even if he hadn’t asked, I would not have stood by and watched my student’s family face annihilation.”

”So, there’s no need to thank me, Lord Baron. If you must thank someone, thank Roy.”

”Also, if all goes as planned, he should be back in ten to fifteen days.”

’Roy is the Dark Night Knight’s student?’

’Why did he never tell me this?’

’Could this be one of the reasons he was promoted to High Tier Knight in just half a year?’

...

Tony stared at the Dark Night Knight before him, his expression one of shock as his mind raced.

Sitting beside them, Sandru struggled to maintain his composure and stop himself from laughing.

’I’ve been strictly trained!’

’No matter how funny this is, I will not laugh!’

Sandru kept repeating this to himself in his mind.

After a dozen or so seconds, Tony spoke. ”Lord Dark Night Knight, you said Roy will be back in ten to fifteen days. Did something happen to the expeditionary force?”

”Four Dukes have rebelled and seized the Royal Capital.”

”For the specific details, you can ask Sandru.”

Before Tony could reply, Roy stood up and continued, ”I have other matters to attend to. You two can talk.”

Hearing this, Tony immediately rose to his feet and said quickly, ”Take care, Lord Dark Night Knight!”

Roy nodded and left the office under Tony and Sandru’s watchful eyes.

After he left, Tony wasted no time, immediately asking Sandru about the rebellion of the four Dukes.

Sandru didn’t hide anything, giving him a simple rundown of what he knew.

After hearing Sandru’s account, Tony immediately understood the situation and felt a wave of relief that Sandru was the first person he had sought out.

If he had gone to someone else first, it would have backfired horribly.

Once Sandru finished explaining the news about the four Dukes’ rebellion, Tony thanked him, left the tavern, and led his cavalry back to the Ice Wolf Domain.

Having already removed his armor and helmet, Roy stood at the window of his third-floor guest room, watching Tony lead his cavalry toward the city gates.

Just then, a knock came at the door.

”Come in!”

Roy said.

Upon hearing his reply, Sandru pushed the door open and walked in, coming to his side. ”When do you plan on telling him that you’re the Dark Night Knight?” he asked slowly.

”I’m not going to tell him. He doesn’t need to know,” Roy replied.

”He is your brother, after all. Isn’t it wrong to keep deceiving him?”

Sandru pressed.

”Knowing too much won’t do him any good.”

Roy glanced at Sandru, his expression calm as he replied.

Although he didn’t know why Roy was hiding this from Tony, Sandru didn’t press the issue. Instead, he said, ”Since you plan on staying here for ten to fifteen days, are you interested in taking on a few jobs?”

”Maybe in a few days.”

With that, he jumped out the window as Sandru watched and headed toward the commercial street in the West District.

Sandru sighed helplessly and turned to leave the room.

「A little over an hour later.」

After a satisfying meal at a restaurant in the West District, Roy returned contentedly to his room on the third floor of the tavern.

He rested for a moment in the living room, then entered Chaos Square to continue his cultivation of the Ghost Leopard Breathing Technique.

...

Time flew by.

Before he knew it, a week had passed.

During that week, aside from going out to enjoy good food, Roy went nowhere else, spending all his time in Chaos Square cultivating his Breathing Technique and Meditation Technique.

A week of arduous training successfully brought his Skill Level for the Ghost Leopard Breathing Technique to over 20,000 points.

「Noon.」

After finishing his morning breathing technique cultivation, Roy opened his Skill Proficiency Panel and checked the progress of his Ghost Leopard Breathing Technique.

[Ghost Leopard Breathing Technique: Tier Seven (21,954/30,000), Special Effect: Middle Level Speed]

’Not bad!’

’Just as planned. Another three days of cultivation, and I’ll break through to the Tier Seven Limit!’

Roy thought to himself.

He stretched his limbs, left Chaos Square, and returned to his room.

Then, he jumped out the window and headed straight for the commercial street in the West District.

Although there was food to eat at the tavern, the chef’s skills were mediocre at best.

Compared to a week ago, the atmosphere in Redwood City was noticeably different.

Three days ago, news of the four Dukes’ rebellion had finally reached Yorkshire.

As expected, on the same day the news arrived, prices in Redwood City began to skyrocket, and the situation in Yorkshire descended into chaos.

People scrambled to buy up grain and all sorts of daily necessities.

Weapon shops, blacksmiths, and apothecaries were also flooded with a massive number of orders.

In addition, many wealthy merchants began to sell off their assets, preparing to leave the Laine Kingdom for other countries.

Meanwhile, the nobles within Yorkshire became incredibly active.

They were recruiting soldiers to expand their armies, forming offensive and defensive alliances with friendly clans, hiring bounty hunters and assassins to eliminate key members of rival clans, persuading neutral clans to join their alliances, and invading the territories of their enemies.

While the common people of Yorkshire were thinking about how to survive, the nobles were thinking about how to expand their family’s territory and eliminate their rivals.

While the other clans were frantically busy, the Wesley Clan was not idle either.

Tony did not accept overtures from other clans, nor did he take the opportunity to send troops to seize the Red Eagle Domain or the Giant Dog Domain.

However, he did issue a Recruitment Order within his domain, calling upon the able-bodied young men to join the army.

Upon learning that Tony had also begun recruiting, Roy found Sandru and had him arrange for people to send all the armor and weapons he had plundered from Red Eagle Castle and Giant Dog Castle to Ice Wolf Castle.

He had intended this armor and these weapons for the Ice Wolf Domain all along.

In addition to the weapons and armor, he also sent over a large chest of Silver Coins.

Expanding an army costs money!

And the Wesley Clan was not particularly wealthy!

Whether it was the Silver Coins or the weapons and armor, Roy had it all sent in the name of the Dark Night Knight.
