Wizard: Grinding from Knight to Primogenitor

Chapter 73: Chapter 71: Scum and an Out

The outskirts of Redwood City.

Rock Lion Castle.

Roy, dressed in black Hunter’s Clothing, and Catherine, clad in pale gold Light Armor, stood on a small hill near Rock Lion Castle, surveying it.

After reaching an agreement, Roy didn’t immediately leave the ”Red Salmon and Cherry Pie” tavern with Catherine. Instead, he first went to see Sandru and accepted a mission from him to assassinate Count Rock Lion.

He wasn’t about to forget that Count Rock Lion’s life was worth 4,500 Contribution Points!

Only after accepting the mission did they come here.

On the way over, they briefly discussed and modified their plan.

Roy would be responsible for taking out Count Rock Lion.

Catherine would be responsible for eliminating the other heirs.

Furthermore, Roy wouldn’t be sneaking into Rock Lion Castle this time. Instead, he would fight his way in openly through the main gate.

What’s more, Catherine would also go in with him through the main gate.

More importantly, Catherine would not wear a mask, but would go in with him, unmasked.

As for why they were doing this, the reason was simple.

They planned to frame this operation not as the Dark Night Knight assassinating a Count under the Ironblood Duke, but as an internal feud within the Beluns Clan.

Catherine, Count Rock Lion’s eldest daughter, seeking justice for her deceased mother, had hired the notorious Bounty Hunter, the Dark Night Knight.

The Dark Night Knight accepted Catherine’s commission and killed Count Rock Lion.

Finally, Catherine would kill the other male heirs and, as the eldest daughter, inherit Count Rock Lion’s title and take control of everything in the Beluns Clan.

Roy wasn’t afraid of the Ironblood Duke.

Although the Ironblood Duke was a Silver Great Knight, in three more days, he would be one too.

If it were just him, he wouldn’t need to make things this complicated; he could just charge in and kill Count Rock Lion.

The problem was, however, that he wasn’t a lone wolf.

To avoid implicating Tony and Erin, or more accurately, to avoid having to pack up and flee with them, he needed to give the Ironblood Duke an out—a plausible reason to let the matter slide.

As for whether the Ironblood Duke would take this out, he wasn’t particularly worried.

He had offered him an out.

If the Ironblood Duke insisted on making an issue of a dead subordinate and went after the Wesley Clan, then he would have no choice but to flee with Tony and the others first.

Then, as an Assassin, he would pay ”visits” every now and then to the Ironblood Duke himself, as well as his descendants and relatives.

Not only that, but he could also accept commissions from the other three Dukes or the Eldest Prince, helping them to completely eradicate the Ironblood Duke’s family.

As long as the Ironblood Duke was thinking straight, he would most likely seize the opportunity to back down.

After a brief survey of Rock Lion Castle, Roy put on the Dark Night Knight’s signature mask.

Then, he began to circulate the Fighting Qi within his body.

As Catherine watched, the extravagantly shaped Fighting Qi Destruction Sword appeared in his hand.

Gripping the Fighting Qi Destruction Sword in one hand, Roy gave it a few swings and said to Catherine, ”Let’s go. Time to kill.”

”Right!”

Catherine nodded, drew the Cross Sword from her waist, and released a pale yellow, unidentified Fighting Qi that completely shrouded her body.

Without a moment’s hesitation, they immediately headed for the main gate of Rock Lion Castle.

Not long after they left the small hill, the Official Knights and soldiers in front of the castle gate and on the walls spotted them.

’The Dark Night Knight and Miss Catherine?’

’Why are they together?’

’When did Miss Catherine become a Peak Knight?’

’What are they planning to do?’

...

Upon seeing them, one question after another popped into the minds of the Official Knights and soldiers at the castle gate and on the walls.

Although they didn’t know what was going on, the squad leader on the wall immediately had someone sound the horn that signaled an enemy attack.

BLAAAAARE!

The long, stirring sound of the horn instantly spread throughout the entire castle!

At the same time, the castle gate began to close rapidly.

Roy did not stop the Official Knights and soldiers from closing the castle gate.

’A mere gate. It wouldn’t stop me whether it was closed or not.’

As the castle gate closed, the Archers on the walls unleashed a fierce volley at Roy.

They weren’t worried about accidentally hitting Catherine.

At this moment, Catherine was several meters away from Roy.

Besides, if they didn’t even have that much accuracy, they weren’t qualified to be Archers.

WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH...

Arrows rained down on Roy like a torrential storm.

Roy didn’t just stand there like a fool and act as a target. He pushed off forcefully with his legs and shot toward the castle gate.

At the same time, he raised the huge Fighting Qi Destruction Sword and swung it casually at the castle gate.

Fighting Qi Slash!

The crescent-shaped Fighting Qi Slash flew toward the castle gate like a bolt of lightning.

BOOM!

In the blink of an eye, the Fighting Qi Slash slammed into the sturdy castle gate, blasting it to pieces.

The wreckage of the gate flew in all directions.

Before the debris from the gate could even hit the ground, Roy, shrouded in White Fighting Qi, was already inside the castle.

SHING SHING SHING SHING SHING...

Roy continuously swung his Fighting Qi Destruction Sword, reaping the lives of the nearby Knights and soldiers like the Grim Reaper.

Before the Destruction Sword formed from Fighting Qi Substantiation, their bodies were as fragile as cake.

Whether it was a High Tier Knight in Heavy Armor or a common foot soldier in Leather Armor, they were all cleaved in two by the Fighting Qi Destruction Sword.

Bodies littered the ground, and blood flowed freely!

The plaza near the castle gate quickly became a gruesome scene, like the most brutal of slaughterhouses.

After finishing off the nearby Official Knights and soldiers, Roy didn’t pursue the others. He stood amidst the corpses, the massive Fighting Qi Destruction Sword resting on one shoulder, and patiently awaited the arrival of Count Rock Lion.

Not long after he stopped, Catherine came to his side.

Seeing Catherine standing calmly beside Roy, a guess quickly formed in the minds of the other Knights and soldiers.

’Catherine hired the Dark Night Knight!’

Strictly speaking, their guess was correct.

Because Catherine did indeed need to pay him a fee afterward.

However, Catherine’s commission was just incidental.

Even without her commission, Roy would have come to kill Count Rock Lion anyway.

Roy and Catherine didn’t have to wait long before Count Rock Lion, clad in golden armor, appeared in their line of sight with Nox, Knight Wagner, and others.

Count Rock Lion first sized up Roy with a murderous expression, then spoke to Catherine in an ice-cold tone, ”Was it you who hired him to kill Jeremy and Webb?”

”That’s right. I did it all!”

”What’s more, I was the one who delivered the final sword thrust that killed Jeremy!”

Catherine replied without hesitation.

Although she hadn’t actually hired Roy to assassinate Jeremy and Webb, she didn’t mind claiming responsibility for both incidents.

Because doing so would make Count Rock Lion even more furious!

And the more furious the Count became, the happier she was!

Just as she had guessed, upon hearing her answer, Count Rock Lion’s expression turned impossibly ugly. He ground out through clenched teeth:

”Just because Jeremy accidentally caused your mother to fall to her death, you...”

Before Count Rock Lion could finish, Catherine cut him off.

”Accidentally! You still have the gall to talk to me about an accident!”

”Jeremy, who never went to my mother’s room, ’accidentally’ went to her room, then ’accidentally’ brought her to the window to watch me playing in the garden, and finally, after she waved to me, he ’accidentally’ pushed her out!”

”I know you never truly loved my mother. You never even planned to marry her. You just coveted her body!”

”You refused to give her the title of your wife, you wouldn’t let her raise me herself—I could let all that go!”

”All she wanted was to take me to see my grandparents, just that one small request, and you wouldn’t grant it. Instead, you signaled for Jeremy to push her from the building right in front of me!”

”Even now, you don’t dare admit that you were the one who signaled Jeremy to murder her!”

”Nelson Belons, you’re nothing but scum! A heartless, treacherous coward who won’t even admit what he’s done!”

”And I’m not afraid to tell you now, it’s not just you who will die today—your heirs will die too!”

Catherine screamed at Count Rock Lion until she was hoarse, venting all the rage she had suppressed for over a decade.

”You are also a Belens! The blood of the Beluns Clan flows in your veins too!”

Count Rock Lion glared viciously at Catherine and retorted swiftly.

”The fact that the blood of the Beluns Clan flows in my veins is the most disgusting thing about my life.”

”I will take over everything from the Beluns Clan, then change my name to Catherine Olsen and turn the Beluns Clan into the Olson Clan!”

”Do you still remember the surname Olsen? That was my mother’s surname!”

Catherine shot back immediately, without any hesitation.

...
