Wizard: Grinding from Knight to Primogenitor

Chapter 85: Chapter 83: From Left Hand to Right Hand, Protective and Generous

Outside Black Stone Forest.

After emerging from the forest, Count Frost Bear and Saw-toothed Crocodile Count didn’t immediately lead their men back to their domains. Instead, they remained outside the forest, waiting for the Dark Night Knight to appear.

Because their strength was inferior, they could only give up on taming the Earth Dragon, handing over the creature they coveted to someone else.

However, they still hadn’t given up completely.

In their view, the Dark Night Knight might not necessarily want to tame the Earth Dragon as a mount. It was also possible he only wanted to kill it and take things like its claws and fangs.

This also meant they had a chance to obtain parts of the Earth Dragon’s carcass.

The Dark Night Knight’s movements had always been secretive. If he had an Earth Dragon as a mount, he wouldn’t be able to hide his tracks as he had before.

It was normal for Count Frost Bear and Saw-toothed Crocodile Count to think this way.

After all, parading around openly on an Earth Dragon was indeed not the Dark Night Knight’s style.

If they could think of this problem, Roy, of course, had thought of it long ago.

From the very beginning, he had never intended for the Earth Dragon to become the Dark Night Knight’s mount.

This Earth Dragon was a gift from the Dark Night Knight to his student, Roy Wesley.

Although he was the Dark Night Knight, no one else knew this besides Catherine and Sandru.

In other words, all it would take was a public gifting, a simple transfer from his left hand to his right.

Then, he could openly use the Earth Dragon as his mount, and no one would connect him to the Dark Night Knight.

Before long, he appeared in the line of sight of Count Frost Bear and the others, riding the Earth Dragon.

Seeing him sitting on the Earth Dragon’s back, holding an iron chain that was more symbolic than practical, Count Frost Bear and Saw-toothed Crocodile Count knew their last hope was gone.

When Roy saw that Count Frost Bear and Saw-toothed Crocodile Count hadn’t returned to their domains but had gathered outside the forest, he guessed what they were up to.

He didn’t have Xiaobai stop and continued on toward Yorkshire.

...

「West District of Redwood City.」

「The Red Salmon and Cherry Pie Tavern.」

「Sandru’s Office.」

Roy sat on the sofa in the reception area, took a sip of the wine in front of him, and said to Sandru, ”Xiaobai... I’ve tamed the Earth Dragon. It’s in the forest outside the city right now.”

”Are you planning to reveal that Roy Wesley is the Dark Night Knight?”

Sandru asked immediately.

”Of course not!”

”The Dark Night Knight will gift the Earth Dragon to his student, Roy Wesley, to encourage him to work hard on his cultivation and advance to Great Knight as soon as possible.”

”However, before gifting it to him, the Earth Dragon needs to be fitted with reins and a saddle.”

Roy set down his wine glass and said unhurriedly.

”You want me to find a craftsman to custom-make suitable reins and a saddle?”

Sandru continued to ask.

”Yes.”

Roy nodded.

After hearing his answer, Sandru sighed helplessly and said slowly, ”I’m clearly the head of the organization in Yorkshire, but now I’m getting the feeling that I’m your butler.”

”If you’re interested, I can recommend you to Tony and have you serve as the butler for the Wesley Clan.”

Roy said with a smile.

”Forget it. I still prefer my identity as a tavern owner.”

”Getting back to the reins and saddle, to have them custom-made for the Earth Dragon, I’ll need detailed measurements.”

As soon as Sandru finished speaking, Roy took a piece of parchment and a money pouch from his coat and placed them on the table.

”The specific measurements and requirements are on the parchment. The money in the pouch is enough to cover the craftsman’s fee.”

”Whatever is left over is yours.”

”It’s not even noon yet. I want to see the reins and saddle I need before nightfall.”

Roy said to Sandru.

Sandru first picked up the parchment and glanced at its contents, then opened the money pouch.

Discovering the pouch was filled with Gold Coins, he said with a satisfied look, ”Don’t worry. You’ll definitely have the reins and saddle you need before nightfall.”

”Good. I’ll leave it to you, then.”

Roy picked up his wine glass, drained the contents in one go, and prepared to return to his guest room on the third floor.

He had only taken a few steps when he stopped and turned back to look at Sandru.

”Oh, right. Spread the news that Roy Wesley is the Dark Night Knight’s student.”

”Alright, no problem.”

Sandru replied quickly.

Roy nodded. Without another word, he left the office under Sandru’s gaze.

...

「Two days later.」

「Ice Wolf Domain.」

Dressed in Silver-White Armor, Roy rode Xiaobai, who was now fitted with reins and a saddle, proceeding unhurriedly toward Ice Wolf Castle.

After fitting Xiaobai with the reins and saddle, he didn’t return to Ice Wolf Castle immediately but stayed in Redwood City for two more days.

To be precise, he spent two nights at Rock Lion Castle, thoroughly instructing Catherine in her Card Skills and making her a more experienced player.

By this time, exactly half a month had passed since the four Dukes captured the Royal Capital.

For someone who was publicly only a High Tier Knight, taking half a month to cross the Laine Kingdom without a horse was a perfectly normal pace.

Before long, Ice Wolf Castle appeared in his line of sight.

Compared to before, Ice Wolf Castle hadn’t changed much, aside from there being more soldiers on the walls and by the main gate.

Additionally, several huge Ice Wolf Banners were hanging from the castle’s outer walls.

Under normal circumstances, nobles’ castles would not fly banners.

They would only be flown during times of war, celebration, or when the castle changed ownership.

Roy hadn’t even reached Ice Wolf Castle yet when Tony, dressed in Hunter’s Clothing, came to the main gate, looking expectantly at him as he rode the Earth Dragon.

Although only two days had passed, the news that the Dark Night Knight had tamed an Earth Dragon and gifted it to his student, Roy Wesley, had already spread throughout Yorkshire.

After this news got out, the Dark Night Knight gained two new labels in people’s minds.

The first was ”protective of his own.”

Because Baron Red Eagle and Baron Giant Dog had hired Bounty Hunters to attack Ice Wolf Castle, he had completely annihilated the Knight Clan and the Sheen Clan, leaving no one behind.

The second was ”generous.”

An Earth Dragon—obtained only after offending Count Frost Bear and Saw-toothed Crocodile Count, with power only slightly inferior to a Bronze Great Knight—was given away just like that.

When this news spread, let alone the other nobles of Yorkshire, even Tony felt a little envious of Roy.

They never would have guessed that the Earth Dragon had been tamed by Roy himself.

After arriving at the castle gate, Roy immediately dismounted from Xiaobai and walked straight toward Tony.

”I’m back.”

Roy said to Tony.

Tony nodded and immediately gave him a tight hug.

After releasing Roy, he said slowly, ”You punk, you actually hid it from me for so long. You didn’t even tell me you became the Dark Night Knight’s student.”

”Fess up. When did you become the Dark Night Knight’s student?”
