Wizard: Grinding from Knight to Primogenitor

Chapter 58: Chapter 56: The Power of Dragon Mighty

Miria’s expression immediately turned incredibly grim.

Roy was right. At the end of the day, her doubts stemmed from her own indignation.

If the Wesley Clan wasn’t a Baron Clan, but one with the higher rank of Count or Marquis, she wouldn’t feel so indignant.

But the Wesley Clan, like the Elvin Clan, was a Baron Clan.

After a dozen seconds of silence, Miria looked at Roy with a serious expression and said quickly, ”You’re right. I am indignant.”

”I’m indignant that you, who also come from a Baron Clan, reached the same Level as me in just half a year.”

”I want to challenge you to a duel. I need to see for myself if you’re truly the rare Cultivation Talent you’re made out to be.”

”If I lose, I’ll apologize however you want!”

Roy looked at Miria calmly and said slowly, ”If you want to play, I’ll indulge you. Let’s go to the rear courtyard.”

Without waiting for a reply, he stood up and headed toward the inn’s rear courtyard.

Miria followed at once, without any hesitation.

Watching them head to the rear courtyard, Allen sighed in resignation.

Unlike Miria, he didn’t find it unacceptable that Roy’s Cultivation Talent might be better than his.

Still, he now wanted to know if Roy truly was a genius.

It would also reveal whether Tony had lied to Erin, too.

He took a deep breath, wasted no more time, and rose to follow them to the rear courtyard.

Soon, Roy and the others reached the inn’s rear courtyard.

The rear courtyard wasn’t particularly large, just over a hundred square meters in size.

Roy and Miria stood a few meters apart, and each began to circulate the Fighting Qi within them.

Just like Ice Wolf Fighting Qi, Snow Fox Fighting Qi was also white.

Without hesitation, Miria drew the Silver Cross Sword at her waist. She wreathed it in her Snow Fox Fighting Qi and watched Roy with a serious expression.

Under her gaze, Roy unhurriedly drew his Cross Sword and gave it a casual flourish.

’He’s not even imbuing his blade with Fighting Qi?’

When Miria saw that Roy hadn’t coated his blade with Fighting Qi, her first reaction was that he was underestimating her.

High Tier Knights couldn’t yet cover their entire bodies with Fighting Qi. In combat, they wouldn’t immediately use their Fighting Qi to protect their vital points. Instead, they would first wreathe their weapon in it.

This was true not only for High Tier Knights, but for Middle Tier Knights as well.

For Middle and High Tier Knights, imbuing their weapon with Fighting Qi was a sign that they were prepared to fight with their full strength.

Roy knew his actions would make Miria feel he was looking down on her.

But he still had no intention of imbuing his blade with Fighting Qi.

The reason was simple.

Miria simply wasn’t worthy of his full strength.

With his current power, he could instantly kill any enemy below the rank of Great Knight, even with his bare hands.

Drawing his Cross Sword was already a show of respect toward Miria.

’Although I don’t plan to go all out, I don’t mind using Miria to test the power of my Basic Dragon Mighty.’

He had obtained Basic Dragon Mighty after reaching the entry level of Dragon’s Battle Roar.

But he had yet to test its power in actual combat.

And Miria was the perfect test subject.

Miria was only twenty-two years old.

’Although I don’t know how long she’s been in the Second Son Brotherhood, judging by the fact that she’s on the verge of becoming a Peak Knight and has amassed a good number of Contribution Points, she must have joined some time ago.’

’In other words, she’s a Quasi-Peak Knight with decent talent and plenty of combat experience.’

’Using her to test my Basic Dragon Mighty will be a good way to see its effect on enemies below the rank of Great Knight.’

Miria, however, was oblivious to Roy’s true intentions.

Suppressing her discontent, she let out a sharp cry, circulated her Fighting Qi at full speed, and shot toward Roy.

She closed the five or six-meter distance in an instant.

Miria’s Silver Cross Sword shot toward Roy’s heart like a bolt of lightning.

Her Speed wasn’t slow, and her strike was sharp and fierce.

But to Roy, her attack posed no threat whatsoever.

Just as Miria’s Silver Cross Sword was a mere two or three centimeters from his heart, Roy finally raised his right hand and swung casually.

CLANG!

The clear ring of metal on metal echoed instantly.

Even though Roy hadn’t imbued his Cross Sword with Fighting Qi, his physical attributes far surpassed Miria’s. With a relaxed expression, he easily parried her Silver Cross Sword.

As the saying goes, amateurs watch the show, but professionals see the skill.

Seeing Roy deflect her attack so effortlessly, Miria knew he was no ordinary High Tier Knight.

Moreover, she realized his Power was far greater than her own.

Roy’s casual block sent a sharp pain through the web of her right thumb.

If not for the support of her Fighting Qi, the Silver Cross Sword would have been knocked from her hand.

Realizing she had underestimated Roy, Miria immediately pulled back, trying to create distance and prevent him from launching a counterattack.

It was the correct choice.

Roy, however, had no intention of giving her that chance.

The moment Miria began to retreat, he pushed off his legs without hesitation, sticking to her like a shadow.

Dragon Mighty!

At the same time, he locked onto Miria and unleashed his Dragon Mighty!

For other Knights who cultivated Dragon’s Battle Roar, obtaining Dragon Mighty was purely a matter of luck.

Even applying Dragon Blood and allowing it to seep into the body was no guarantee of acquiring Dragon Mighty.

However, once acquired, Dragon Mighty could be released within the sound of the Dragon’s Battle Roar.

Roy’s own Basic Dragon Mighty had also been obtained by cultivating Dragon’s Battle Roar.

But his situation was clearly different.

Once the Skill Proficiency Panel listed Basic Dragon Mighty as an ability, he could unleash it even without using Dragon’s Battle Roar.

Moreover, he could choose whether or not to lock onto a specific target.

If he didn’t lock onto a target, his Dragon Mighty would become an area-of-effect attack, just like Dragon’s Battle Roar.

Roy didn’t want any collateral damage, so he locked onto Miria alone.

The formless, colorless, and imperceptible—yet very real—Dragon Mighty instantly enveloped Miria.

Miria had no idea what Roy had just done.

The moment the Dragon Mighty enveloped her, an irrepressible, instinctual fear surged through her heart. She felt like a harmless little rabbit targeted by a starving tiger.

The Fighting Qi churning wildly within Miria’s body ground to a halt. The aura wreathed around her Silver Cross Sword vanished in an instant. She froze in place, staring in terror at the approaching Roy.

The next second, Roy’s Cross Sword was resting on her fair, slender neck.

”You’ve lost!”

Roy looked at Miria calmly and said slowly.

...
