Wizard: Grinding from Knight to Primogenitor

Chapter 74: Chapter 72: Trail of the Wizard

Roy wasn’t surprised by Catherine’s plan to rename the Beluns Clan to the Olson Clan after she took control.

Catherine had already told him about it when they left the tavern for Rock Lion Castle.

Roy understood her reasons and didn’t see any problem with her decision.

Once Catherine took control of everything belonging to the Beluns Clan, it was her prerogative. She could give away all the territory and wealth, let alone simply change the name.

Unlike Roy, who had known Catherine’s intentions all along, Count Rock Lion and his men had clearly not anticipated this.

They had assumed Catherine only wanted to claim the Beluns Clan’s title, territory, and wealth for herself.

They never expected that she wouldn’t even leave the Belens name intact.

”You won’t get the chance!”

”Since you miss your mother so much, I’ll personally send you to Hell to see her!”

The moment he finished speaking, Count Rock Lion unleashed his pale-gold Rock Lion Fighting Qi.

The Rock Lion Fighting Qi first coiled around his body like a raging flame.

Then, under his control, the Rock Lion Fighting Qi condensed into Fighting Qi Armor, layering over his existing Metal Armor.

At the same time, the Rock Lion Fighting Qi coalesced into a tangible, golden-yellow Long Spear.

Fighting Qi Substantiation!

As a Black Iron Great Knight, Count Rock Lion had decisively used Fighting Qi Substantiation, readying himself for an all-out attack.

Unlike Count Rock Lion, who had the dual protection of Fighting Qi Armor and Metal Armor, Roy was only shrouded in Fighting Qi and wore simple Hunter’s Clothing. His Defense Power appeared to be weaker by a significant margin.

On the surface, Roy’s current Defense Power was indeed far inferior to Count Rock Lion’s.

In reality, however, his Defense Power was no weaker than the Count’s.

Condensing Fighting Qi into armor could indeed increase its Defense Power.

But that didn’t mean the Defense Power of Fighting Qi Armor was always stronger than that of Protective Fighting Qi.

Many factors determined the Defense Power of Fighting Qi.

Besides its condensed form, the inherent strength of the Fighting Qi itself was a crucial factor.

Take a simple example.

The Protective Fighting Qi released by a Bronze Great Knight was not much weaker in Defense Power than the Fighting Qi Armor of a Black Iron Great Knight.

A Silver Great Knight, on the other hand, could casually release Protective Fighting Qi with a Defense Power that surpassed the Fighting Qi Armor of a Black Iron Great Knight.

As for the even higher-leveled Golden Great Knights, the difference was even greater.

Although Roy had yet to advance to the rank of Silver Great Knight, the total volume and strength of his Fighting Qi were no less than that of one.

Other Bronze and Silver Great Knights only practiced a single Breathing Technique.

In other words, a normal Bronze Great Knight possessed only one Tier Seven Life Seed.

A Silver Great Knight would have a Life Seed cultivated to Tier Eight.

Roy, however, possessed three Tier Seven Life Seeds and one Tier Six Life Seed.

In terms of Level, he was indeed one Level lower than a Silver Great Knight.

But in terms of raw power and Fighting Qi, he could beat an average Silver Great Knight into the ground.

The only exceptions were the cream of the crop among Silver Great Knights, like the Flying Dragon Knights.

In a one-on-one situation, he feared no Silver Great Knight.

Count Rock Lion was only a Black Iron Great Knight.

Even with his condensed Fighting Qi Armor, his Defense Power would be no stronger than Roy’s, who had only released his Protective Fighting Qi.

No one but Roy himself knew just how powerful he currently was.

Especially Count Rock Lion.

When Count Rock Lion saw that Roy hadn’t even formed Fighting Qi Armor, a thought naturally surfaced in his mind. ’He can’t even condense a Fighting Qi Weapon and Fighting Qi Armor at the same time. He must have just recently advanced to Black Iron Great Knight.’

It was a natural assumption for the Count to make.

Roy would have thought the same if he were in the Count’s shoes.

After forming his Fighting Qi Armor and Fighting Qi Spear, Count Rock Lion wasted no time. With a great roar, he pushed off his legs and shot toward Catherine.

Although Roy was far stronger than Catherine, the Count was more intent on killing the traitorous Catherine than dealing with Roy.

Count Rock Lion’s Speed was immense.

In the blink of an eye, the glittering, golden figure was before Catherine. With a dragon-like thrust, the spear’s tip shot toward her heart like a bolt of lightning.

Just as the golden Fighting Qi Spear was about to strike Catherine’s full, alluring chest, Roy made his move.

Without a moment’s hesitation, he raised his right hand and swung casually.

His Fighting Qi Destruction Sword carved a graceful arc before smashing viciously against the head of the Fighting Qi Spear.

CLANG!

A tremendous crash rang out, and the resulting shockwave swept outward in all directions like a tidal wave.

Catherine, hit by the shockwave, retreated several steps uncontrollably.

Roy and Count Rock Lion were also struck by the shockwave, but they stood firm like reefs on the shore, their bodies unmoving no matter how the waves crashed against them.

Although he was not pushed back by the shockwave, the moment the Fighting Qi Destruction Sword hit the Fighting Qi Spear, Count Rock Lion’s expression became incredibly grave.

If he had looked down on Roy a moment ago, thinking him a newly advanced Knight who couldn’t even form both Fighting Qi Armor and a Fighting Qi Weapon simultaneously...

...then now, he knew he had been sorely mistaken.

The moment the Fighting Qi Destruction Sword struck the head of the Fighting Qi Spear, he found that the spearhead showed signs of collapsing.

Had he not immediately poured more Rock Lion Fighting Qi into it to reinforce the tip, his condensed Fighting Qi Spear would have already become a mere Fighting Qi Long Staff.

’How is his Fighting Qi Weapon so strong?’

’Didn’t he just recently advance to Black Iron Great Knight?’

’How can his physical Power and Fighting Qi strength be this high?’

Although he didn’t know why Roy was so much stronger than he expected, Count Rock Lion didn’t hesitate and immediately retreated.

He had already abandoned the idea of taking down Roy one-on-one. Instead, he prepared to order the other Knights to attack alongside him.

A fine idea, but reality was cruel.

Count Rock Lion had decided to overwhelm his opponent with superior numbers.

But Roy had no intention of giving him that chance.

The instant Count Rock Lion pulled back and retreated, Roy decisively used Dragon’s Battle Roar, opened his mouth, and let out a terrifying roar like an Ancient Giant Dragon.

ROAR!!!

The terrifying roar, suffused with Dragon Mighty, instantly blanketed the entire plaza!

Whether it was Count Rock Lion, Catherine, or anyone else in the plaza, hearing Roy’s roar triggered an intense, primal fear that stemmed from their very biological instincts.

The ordinary soldiers, who had never practiced a Breathing Technique, fainted from the overwhelming fear the moment they heard the roar, collapsing in waves.

Official Knights were relatively better off.

The bodies of the Initial Tier Knights and Middle Tier Knights began to tremble uncontrollably, their legs went soft, and they fell directly to their knees.

The High Tier Knights lasted a few seconds longer before they, too, knelt one after another.

Lastly were the Peak Knights, such as Catherine and Wagner.

Not long after the High Tier Knights fell, they too found themselves dropping to one knee, their heads bowed.

With just a single, wide-area Dragon’s Battle Roar, the only people left standing in the plaza were Roy and Count Rock Lion.

Although Count Rock Lion hadn’t knelt from the fear, an expression of uncontrollable terror was plastered across his face.

All his killing intent, fighting spirit, and anger had vanished.

Aside from fear and shock, every other emotion had drained from him.

Sparing a glance for the Count, who was struggling to stay on his feet, Roy brandished his Fighting Qi Destruction Sword and walked toward him at a leisurely pace.

With his current strength, getting rid of Count Rock Lion would be an easy task.

If, for example, he had used Frost Slash just now instead of Dragon’s Battle Roar, Count Rock Lion would already be a corpse in two halves.

He didn’t kill the Count immediately—not because his heart had softened, but because he had something to ask him.

The whereabouts of a Wizard!

He needed to extract information about Wizards from Count Rock Lion—to find a Wizard’s whereabouts!
