Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 250: Chapter 60: Don the Battle Robe, Greet the Unknown Visitor

Hill quickly found the teleportation array.

The teleportation array of Kexlote was located in the square in front of the Temple of Time and Space.

Soft glows scattered, and Hill could see it from a distance.

Hill had thought he could fly over, but a Black Robe Mage warned him.

Fran’s spaceship had given prior notice, which allowed it to fly directly in and permit free flight in this area.

Beyond the range of the Magic Tower, only Black Robe Mages and William’s ships could fly freely.

The Black Robe Mage showed Hill his own badge, trying very hard to tempt Hill, saying that if he was willing to sign up with their mage troop, he could also get this uniform and flying license.

With these two, he wouldn’t be thrown out of the city by the Divine Array.

Hill almost couldn’t help but roll his eyes, he declined the enthusiastic Black Robe’s offer, found his direction, and landed on the ground.

It was still early, and Hill decided to take a leisurely walk.

The pedestrians in Kexlote were gradually adopting the fashion of players.

Not the eccentric fashions of the time, but the style of the standardized equipment commonly worn by mainstream players all year round.

The all-high-level Undead Tribe’s fashion fit well with the world’s admiration for the strong, so many unconsciously started to imitate the Undead Tribe’s attire.

Some nobles simply dressed in the Undead Tribe’s fashion, they, after all, would not want to dress similarly to ordinary people.

But these people were probably just trying to please William, rather than genuinely finding the outfits appealing.

As attractive as Undead Tribe’s clothes were, they had to be functional too.

This didn’t quite match with the nobility’s preference for extravagant, silken garments that were elaborate and decorative.

But most Professionals, using the excuse of the Undead fashion, basically gave up those noble garments.

The world’s mages had long favored the long robes of the Undead Tribe, truly convenient and good-looking.

Hill himself was wearing a white shirt, black trousers, and a lightweight black robe draped over him.

He looked somewhat amusedly at the many people dressed similarly to him along the way, and it seemed not limited to just mages.

The habit of the Undead dressing haphazardly had also spread to the people of this world!

Hill slowly walked down the road toward the grand cross street leading to the Temple.

There, the number of players began to increase.

William had set up a street specially designated for players to set up stalls next to the Temple.

Hill put on the hood of his robe and stepped into the teleportation array.

When he flew to the valley, Hill saw a long line of people.

”Why are there so many people?” Hill asked List as he landed near the fountain.

”They say some leave early and might be able to enter a day ahead,” List responded, also feeling helpless.

”Then aren’t they just waiting in vain?” Hill remembered telling Snow Cloud Peak and Old Cat that only up to 200 people could enter per day.

”Mainly, they want to see what kind of Magical Beasts the others took away,” said List, ”Otherwise, to advance one day, losing so much time, that would be a loss, they definitely wouldn’t enter.”

Hill shook his head; anyhow, he would open and close the entrance on schedule, let them do as they pleased!

These players probably thought maintaining a good relationship with Hill was more important, so for two consecutive days, there were no troubles.

Hill happily completed his tasks.

Even when List told him that a herd of elephants had moved in, he remained composed.

”Did they just walk in?” Hill was merely curious about this.

”They arrived at the valley entrance at night,” said List, ”When I went to the gate for their oath-taking, I found Snow Cloud Peak and his fox were there.”

So, the fox had bluntly signed a contract with Snow Cloud Peak to hire a bodyguard?

Was it a win-win for them? Snow Cloud Peak helped the fox and incidentally collected a protection fee?

Suddenly, Hill smiled: It seemed that not only Merkel, a leopard, awoke its inherited memories in his valley.

Hill had no intention of interfering; if the fox felt this was beneficial for the Beast Tribe, Hill was happy to oblige.

”Let me know if wolf packs suddenly appear in my valley one day,” Hill joked, ”Then I’ll be truly impressed by the fox.”

List couldn’t help but laugh too, as Hill got up to head to Kexlote.

”There are now over 60 Undead living in the town,” List quickly said, ”There are only 80 houses along that shaded path, and the larger ones are all taken. Some people who want to live together are asking me when we will build another road?”

”Find some designs that blend harmoniously with the original road, I’ll take a look when I come back tomorrow,” Hill said with a smile in his eyes.

List was momentarily stunned, then happily said, ”Sure, sir. It’s rare for you to take an interest in these things again.”

Hill shook his head and flew off; it seemed List had noticed the change in him too! It was just that the Tower Spirit didn’t think there was anything wrong with that.

After waving goodbye to List, Hill went back to Kexlote.

The sunlight was perfect, and the tall 12-story Magic Tower had already been preliminarily erected. Hill walked happily to the silver giant spaceship and halted his steps.

It might have been because, besides the sailing ship parked outside the Royal Palace, only here was a giant warship stationed.

So, when Hill walked over, there were many Undead gathered to look.

But they didn’t seem to favor the design much, consistently criticizing it for being too retro.

However, only those who have gone through industrialization might understand the beauty of this immense ironclad warship, as the feeling of standing beside it could only be described as awe-inspiring, a sentiment perhaps the people of this world might not fully grasp.
