Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 245: Chapter 57: The Abyss is far behind, the Fox and the Old Dog_2

Fran understood more clearly than most that he was already in a relatively favourable position, at least his valley and his subordinates were considered friendly by the Undead Tribe and could not be attacked arbitrarily.

If over the centuries, the World Will had looked favourably upon the Undead Tribe, then Fran had to seize each opportunity to secure a safe path for the Magical Beasts.

Too many high-level Magical Beasts had taken refuge in his place. Fran sighed softly, sensing every now and then that their numbers were slightly increasing.

The Undead Tribe still had many interesting things to do, and Fran’s valley was also greenlit in their books, so he could temporarily stop worrying.

But they could now make contracts with Magical Beasts. Fran closed his eyes, standing on the balcony in the night breeze, deep in thought. Was there another place more convenient to find Magical Beasts than here?

While the Undead Tribe had not yet remembered his valley, it was better to actively send them out early.

List appeared behind him: ”Mr. Hill, the Old Cat has already been notified, and he is very pleased,” he said.

Fran nodded, ”Let’s wait and see in a week.”

Fran was somewhat unsure of what to do next, as time was short and he could not study spells, so he began to work on Alchemy Products daily.

The tower-shaped cottage he had made for Fran had overcome many technological barriers. It would be much easier now to work on Srei’s shop, indeed nothing progresses without struggle.

Until the next morning a week later, Fran was awakened by a strong disturbance outside and hurried to the balcony.

The nascent sunrise, the sky filled with rosy light, and the ceaseless drizzle of Holy Rain.

This marked the complete end of the Demon invasion.

The Abyssal Gate closed, not to open again for a thousand years, unless, of course, someone from this world decided to open it.

But in the event that such evil desperados did exist, it was the misfortune of the nation that nurtured such individuals; killing the one who opened the gate could close the Abyssal Gate again.

Fran smiled as he welcomed the rain, squinting to notice little bits of golden light in the rain falling on him.

This was the World Will’s reward for those who had made contributions.

Fran looked down, watching the Magical Beasts running in the rain, especially the groups of low-rank Magical Beasts. This was their greatest chance to advance; each Magical Beast eagerly welcomed the rain.

List also appeared in the air, his core was underground, but all Magic Array lines in his territory were connected to his core, even a slight enhancement was a rare progress for List.

Merkel and Alice ran up quickly, the World Will would notify every creature, this was Its reward to those who survived the invasion from the Abyss.

Although it seemed the Demons were easily defeated on Saral’s side, Fran was not ignorant of the dire victories faced by other nations.

This was because of the completion rule of the world that prevented Demons above Legendary from entering. There was also the rampage of Natural Consciousness that had wiped out the Demon vanguard.

Otherwise, these nations would have had to bow their heads and beg for help, unwilling as they might be to let William’s influence expand.

Probably because he was involved in both events, the golden specks on Fran were truly abundant, like a light, floating cascade pouring over him.

Fran looked toward the south, the contributions of the Undead Tribe were always credited to the God of Time and Space and William.

If he lived closer to the Capital, could he see a golden vortex?

List and the Magical Beasts had agreed to open the valley gate at 9 AM.

Fran looked at the scene, the Water Elemental and their Clan Leader were arrayed along the roadside waters, watching for any movements of the Undead Tribe.

The roads the Undead Tribe would pass were lined with large trees, all Treants in disguise, little green orbs hidden among the branches.

Fran sighed helplessly, knowing now that the Magical Beasts in his territory might leave with the Undead Tribe after making a Contract, the two Legendary Earth Elementals decided to set their disputes aside for the moment and came to watch the excitement.

So they had returned together last night.

Fran looked helplessly at the part of his Mental Sea occupied by them, now he had to maintain the spiritual power of the Korenden lord for a prolonged stay in the Main World.

But coming back was also good, after bathing together in the Holy Rain last night, Fran could feel that maintaining the existence of Korenden required half the spiritual power than before.

And he had battled demons before, the World Will must have granted him quite a few benefits.

”That Water Elemental Lord, will the World Will also give him bonuses in the Elemental Realm?” Hill asked Korenden in the Mental Sea.

”Of course, it will. He is probably overjoyed by it,” Korenden responded simply, then asked Hill not to disturb them.

The Elementals were all gathered together, betting on which Magical Beast would be the first to be taken out! They were too busy to pay attention to Hill.

Hill shook his head helplessly; anyway, to avoid obstructing the view, two lords and most of the Earth Elementals had merged their bodies into the mountain range, out of sight, out of mind, I guess.

Soon, two rows of people entered the mouth of the valley.

One row sparse, the other murmuring.

The sparse row consisted of Scattered Ones, with Old Cat unapologetically taking the first spot, leading the people headlong into the dense forest and then dispersing.

The murmuring row was the Alliance members. Hill saw the person in front standing with Snow Cloud Peak.

Was the lineup really strictly based on military exploits? Hill felt they all looked very familiar, all of them were those who had originally participated in the battle of the Black and White Path.

The Young Master didn’t come, though he was the first to sign a contract with a Magical Beast.

Although the Young Master signed with that poisonous giant crab, Hill, hearing from players’ gossip, knew many crab-type Magical Beasts had now gathered at the Crystal Palace, with Wenjian enjoying playing by the sea, signing contracts with the crabs.

So, the rare few who came into the valley were all staunch land advocates.

Watching them walk into the forest talking and laughing, Hill also became curious, not even knowing how these Magical Beasts would choose their recognized companions.

List suddenly appeared.

Hill looked at him in surprise, ”Has a Magical Beast taken a fancy to the Undead Tribe already? Who?”

”A fox, has taken a liking to Snow Cloud Peak,” List said softly, ”The two of them almost hit it off at first sight.”

The cunning fox teaming up with the cunning Old Dog?

Hill waved his hand helplessly, ”Well, the unlucky ones aren’t me; most of their enemies are also ones I dislike, let them be!”

Hill lightly flew to the fountain where a small square had already been set up with tables and chairs; he took out the Contract Paper and sat down, waiting for that man and fox.

The fox came over with Snow Cloud Peak very soon, clearly quite satisfied with Snow Cloud Peak!

The tail that was usually tightly curled at the back, rarely exploded like a red floating cloud, continuously swinging gently.

Snow Cloud Peak, wearing a long robe of blue and white, with the bright red fox, both faces bearing that light smile, Hill lowered his head and held his forehead, no matter the gender of the fox, the two did look quite like a married couple.

”Mr. Hill, Haines and I have decided to sign a contract,” Snow Cloud Peak said with a smile.

Hill took out the contract for them to carefully review before saying, ”If it’s the two of you, I won’t say much. You both are accustomed to careful thought; just hope you don’t regret it easily. After all, you two are a bit alike.”

”We’re not looking for a wife, don’t need to consider complementing each other,” Snow Cloud Peak simply said, ”With both of us being overthinkers, it’s unlikely there’ll be any issues; we’ll confirm things first rather than making impulsive decisions, that’s enough.”

Hill watched the fox nod joyfully, then agreed to their contract signing.

Snow Cloud Peak, who was quite clear-headed, wasn’t the combative type anyway, better to find a strategist to help him remedy his deficiencies.

After Snow Cloud Peak signed the contract, he began to take photos around the fox. He even let the fox look at the pictures, picking out a few he was most satisfied with.

Probably rare to see such a clear image of itself, the fox was instantly excited, and they didn’t leave but squatted by the Fountain Pond, began snapping photos and selecting satisfying ones.

Suddenly a tiger’s roar resounded, Hill quickly raised his head and looked deep into the forest.

”It’s okay, it’s Mr. Perfect Bald,” List appeared and said, ”Competing in strength with that giant tiger.”

Listening keenly, Snow Cloud Peak laughed: ”Ah, to deal with Cunlü’s pig, Baldy really is going all out!”
