Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 219: Chapter 44: Adrian Returns Safely

Hill knew Fran did it for his own good; after a long period of intense meditation, he really needed a good sleep to relieve the exhaustion of his mental sea.

After saying goodbye to Fran, Hill slowly walked downstairs.

Standing at the door, Hill immediately put his hand on his forehead, looked up at the sky, and thought, ”Ah! The sky is so blue, the sunlight so dazzling. There’s not a cloud in sight, nor a speck of dust. What a wonderful time! Can he just fly home and sleep without caring about anything else?”

However, no matter how he comforted himself, Hill still had to face the reality: the Treants wandering all over town and the players circling around them.

Hill overlooked one thing; after he entered deep meditation, the spiritual power maintaining the Forest Array had also dissipated.

Without his spiritual power, the Forest Array spell could only last for another day and night at most.

And his only requirement for the Treants was not to leave the Forest Array.

List appeared behind Hill: ”Before Mr. immersed himself in meditation, he hadn’t ordered the Treants to return to the valley after the release of the Forest Array spell.

Although I’ve told them to go back several times, they are reluctant to listen to me.

The Undead Tribe also stirred up trouble by saying that without orders, the Treants could choose for themselves.

In recent times, the Undead Tribe has enjoyed coming over and playing a game of ’guess what tree I am’ with the Treants.”

Hill shook his head helplessly, ”Just let them be! My identity doesn’t need to be kept secret anymore; at most, people will know I am deeply loved by nature, and at this time, no one will pay too much attention to my affairs. But they absolutely must not leave the town!”

Hill looked at the distance, ”What’s the situation outside the domain, do you know?”

”It’s a sight of devastation. Houses have collapsed, and trees are broken,” List replied. ”It’s better here since there was no wind around the domain and the mountains behind us block some of it, but the farther plains where the flowers and trees have almost all died.”

Hill sighed, his natural consciousness emitting waves of guilt and embarrassment, yet he felt no regret.

Hill understood all too well that nature was not always kind and beautiful.

He could only smile and say, ”I remember there are quite a few plant seeds stored in the warehouse. Let’s issue a planting mission to the Undead Tribe!

”Also, let’s collect some of the dead flowers and trees. Although it’s a bit opportunist, it’s rare for our domain to have a chance to collect so much wood material.”

List asked Hill, ”Shall I ask those magical plants in the valley? Their seeds grow faster.”

Hill nodded, ”Keep the necessary seeds in the domain, and distribute the rest! You decide the proportion.”

Listening to the chirping voices of gratitude from his natural consciousness, Hill flew back to the Magic Tower.

Soaking in the bath, Hill washed up comfortably and then lay relaxed on his soft, large bed, quickly falling into a deep sleep.

Meanwhile, List, who had taken on Hill’s task, first went to the valley, found various magical plants, and asked them for some ordinary seeds.

These seeds grew very fast but had no special fate and would not turn into magical plants.

But ultimately, List could only helplessly watch as these clever magical plants mixed many magic seeds among the ones in the Puppet’s hand; he had to carefully sort them out, trying not to put them all in one bag.

The outside was not like Hill’s valley, where the elements and nutrients in thousands of square meters could only support the growth of one magical plant.

List decided to publish this planting task in Srei’s shop. After all, with magic seeds involved, placing them in a Knight’s miscellaneous store might cause trouble.

Although Hill’s Domain no longer welcomed the Undead Tribe without good reputation, the Undead Alliance maintained friendly relations and actually had millions of members.

List calculated the number of seeds he had and thought that perhaps the planting task might be completed before Hill woke up.

After arranging for Srei to post the task, List prepared to inform the Treants of Hill’s orders.

Then he heard cheering from the shop; a few minutes later, groups of the Undead Tribe quickly ran out from the Teleportation Array.

Tasks issued by Hill’s Domain were very popular; after all, Hill somewhat knew the preferences of the Undead.

The rewards for his tasks could always be chosen between Crystal Stones, Gold Coins, and some small equipment.

They could even be exchanged for points and accumulated to swap for higher-grade Alchemy Products at Srei’s shop.

Most of the equipment, often made casually by Hill during practice, had unique designs and was extremely popular, so most people chose equipment as their reward.

Those who chose points were not only few but also among the elite of the Undead, who were relatively rich. Many people would exchange points for one item and then buy a few others to take with them.

After all, Hill wasn’t losing anything.

Watching the bustling, lively domain, List smiled and dispersed his form. Ever since Old Cat took over player affairs, List truly felt much more relaxed, and even his core computing speeds seemed faster.

List was right; the planting task indeed sold out before Hill woke up, as he had slept for three whole days.

Adrian had already sent back a message that he was returning fully loaded, and his ship was nearing the shore.

Perhaps it was some peculiar premonition, but the moment Adrian arrived at Spencer’s city, Hill woke up.
