Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 229: Chapter 49: The Scheming Elf, The Watertight Domain

Hill had researched for quite a while and found that elves were generally described as pursuers of natural purity, adept in the arts, noble, elegant, intelligent, beautiful, long-lived, and ageless.

After mulling it over for a long time, Hill finally confirmed that pursuing natural purity and being naturally pure from the beginning were not the same thing.

Regardless of the world, elves seem to look down on humans with arrogance. Perhaps this is the innate character of the eternal race?

However, Hill still believed that Fran’s grandmother, as described by Fran, was more like his impression of an elf.

Loving freedom, inherently romantic, showing joy without seeking thrills, always curious but not greedy. Hill thought quietly about this phrase and put down the book in his hands.

Maybe it was because of the elves’ chaotic nature that they do so many inexplicable things? Disdain for the profit-seeking of short-lived races and a complete disregard for a race are not the same thing.

But Hill could confirm that both elves and dwarves had their issues.

The God of Time and Spaces appearance in the human world was probably not a coincidence. The World Will likely just planted a seed casually, hoping to grow a beautiful flower, but instead, it bloomed into an overbearing flower, and now the World Will is gleefully fertilizing and watering this flower.

Anyway, as long as one lives long enough, one will eventually see the outcome. For Hill, the most important thing right now is to live well.

Hill stood up, ready to continue to the small town to watch the saga of ”Players: Chronicles of Noah”.

It was said that apart from the Black and White Path who painfully remained to watch over their own clan’s domain, only the Magic Cult and Black Rose left some forces to accompany them in their underground struggles, with everyone else rushing into Noah.

After all, compared to the many concerns of Saral, William had declared that in Noah, whatever they found, they could take away.

Even if they came across a high-level elemental crystal mine, they could dig it up and put it straight into their own pockets.

If it were in Saral’s domain, all of it would belong to William, and while mining was allowed, a fifty percent tax had to be paid.

For the sake of money, almost all players had poured into the Northern Noah.

The Witnesses, those journalists, were happily piecing together maps to see if the players could flatten Northern Noah and dig three feet into the ground.

Three days after the players arrived at Noah, high-level demons started to appear much less frequently.

Fran informed Hill that, indeed, there were more than a dozen legendary demons that initially came to attack Saral, including several that could temporarily fuse together to become a demon lord that surpassed the demi-god rank.

They were prepared for contingencies; controlling William at sea was the best outcome, but if that failed, the moment William appeared on the city walls, the demon lord would attack and severely injure him.

Unfortunately, they never even saw William’s face before they were wiped out by the rampaging natural consciousness.

The demons on the ground were almost all swept up into the eye of the wind by this tempest that carried the power of natural purification, and were spun to their deaths.

But correspondingly, after nature unleashed a hurricane to sweep away all evil presences in the world, one could guess that the newly born elemental spirit would certainly be of the wind element.

Hill pinched his own pendant, in which his wind elemental spirit was happily rolling about on the cloud bed Hill made for it.

The natural consciousness, knowing that Hill did not want others to discover the wind element and knowing it had caused trouble, exerted a great deal of effort to seal this pendant for Hill.

Unless someone as powerful as the God of Time and Space confronted Hill face to face, no one could discover the secret inside the pendant.

Hence, Hill was not concerned about those legendary figures scanning the world for newly born elements.

But perhaps it was because Hill was too young? No one had ever suspected him, although Fran’s domain had already been inspected by many legendary mages.

Hill’s domain was passed over many times by legendary figures, but perhaps because the elemental aura within was too pure, already saturated with wood, water, and earth.

They all looked and left immediately, heading straight for Fran’s domain.

Catching a rabbit often starts by scattering some grass, and Hill was just the unlucky grass.

Sometimes when Hill passed the study, he could hear List and Fran’s Tower Spirit Mont having conversations.

Mont was under a lot of pressure recently, as Fran was displeased and his demands were strict.

Adrian had gone into hiding again, immersing himself in the research of new potions.

The alchemists and ordinary civilians in the domain, when facing legendary figures, might become unreliable, so sometimes Mont would purchase materials and some basic supplies through List.

After all, there were many of the Undead Tribe in Hill’s domain, and they could handle it easily.

Hill was initially worried, but after a month, Fran announced the closing of the Magic Tower to prepare for the ascension to legendary status.

The Magic Tower no longer opened to the public and no longer received visitors.

Only then did Hill realize that his side’s assistance in procuring supplies could not possibly have escaped the eyes of those legendary figures, as the items collected were all alchemical necessities, which had nothing to do with the wind element.

However, Fran’s actions clearly showed a perception of legendary figures as a threat, believing they intended to prevent Fran’s ascension to legendary status.

When Fran could no longer tolerate it and closed the Magic Tower for his ascension, no one could say there was anything improper about it.

Adrian was planning to head to the capital when things settled down, and even if Fran continued to keep the Magic Tower closed, it wouldn’t affect him.

Hill scratched his head, feeling like a Monday morning quarterback, only understanding everything after all was said and done.

With Fran closing the Magic Tower, Hill went as far as sealing his own domain, now making it even more difficult to find Hill.
