Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 212: Chapter 41 The Appearance of the First Traitor

”Demons are at most legendary, right? Why not go down and charge for a bit?”

Hill heard the players downstairs discussing.

Fran had been holding his cheek with one hand, looking solemn, while the other hand was taking notes about the Undead Tribe’s introduction to the demons.

He also put down his pen with interest, wanting to know how the Undead Tribe viewed this matter.

”Rush in for what?” Rain Falling on Mortal Dust said rudely, ”Hasn’t Noah conspired with the Noble Temple?

Seeking death!

You see, if the demons can’t break into Saral, will they turn around and go back?”

”Don’t be foolish,” Snow Cloud Peak also said, ”With so many from the Undead Tribe, the other side isn’t ignorant either, they must have something to rely on if they dare to come.

Just wait for the big boss to come out, then we can teleport over there to fight! The military exploits will definitely be high!”

Below, a chorus of agreement rang out, regardless of whatever schemes or tricks the other side had, no one believed their side would lose.

”The Undead Tribe really does trust His Majesty the King!” Fran exclaimed sincerely, ”The Saral People aren’t so loyal.”

No, they were certain, the game company absolutely wouldn’t let the player faction be beaten to a pulp.

At most, there would be NPCs who die heroically, but what did that have to do with them? At most, some players addicted to the storyline would curse the designers for a few days.

After all, God of Time and Space, the top boss, and William, the second boss, wouldn’t die, and not many people would care about who died.

Hill silently lowered his eyelids, so no matter how good his relationship with the players was, he would definitely not join in such a big war.

With the incident of the Black and White Path territory as a precedent, Hill refused to enter the players’ territories again, and no one found that strange anymore.

”Mister, Mr. Fran.” Marsha appeared, ”The several mages living on the fourth floor have decided to leave and asked me to convey their apologies for having to go.

They said, seeing how familiar the Undead Tribe is with the demons, the progress on His Majesty the King’s side must be quick; they see no need to continue their fruitless efforts.

In fact, with such a major demon attack, they are a bit worried about their homes and have decided to go back.

They are very regretful that they couldn’t contribute anything, wasting the kindness you showed by inviting them to participate in such an important matter.”

Hill puzzledly said, ”Just left?”

He stood up and glanced over: those several Old Mages were quite resilient, even in the awkward situation of being covertly watched by the Undead, they still persisted in staying in the very center of the Purification Array.

”They even pretended to faint, how could they possibly come say goodbye to us.” Fran also glanced outside, ”Never mind, pretend you know nothing. That is the greatest courtesy you can show them.”

”A very interesting matter, not to mention almost all the low-level demons appeared, a lot of high-level demons also appeared, just not the Six-Armed Serpent Demon we encountered on the Black and White Path last time,” said the Witness, seemingly intrigued, ”This means that the Great Demon Lords behind these Abyssal Gates might not be the same one.”

Fran was stunned for a moment and clenched the pen in his hand.

Hill comforted him, ”Don’t worry. Since the Undead Tribe knows, His Majesty the King and his people must surely know more clearly.”

Fran shook his head, ”His Majesty the King’s temperament, I know it well. If he really was confident in dealing with the demons, he would have already let the Undead Tribe go out and exterminate all these demons.

A worthless country like Noah, he wouldn’t regard it seriously.”

Hill sighed softly, ”Actually, the reason Noah cooperated with the Noble Temple must be because of the location of the Abyssal Gate, right?

It must be near their border, otherwise the demons wouldn’t pass up such readily available souls.

Compared to being invaded by demons, offending Saral is probably what Noah considers more cost-effective.”

”The Noble Temple, in order to make a distinction with the demons on the surface, must have put in a lot of effort to hold the demons back at the perimeter of Noah.” Fran said slowly, ”But Noah wouldn’t have paid nothing.”

Hill hadn’t quite caught on yet, and after thinking for a while suddenly widened his eyes, ”Did they sacrifice the people on the border to the demons?”

”His Majesty the King will judge that Noah may not resist, that’s why a lot of the Great Nobility of their country fled to the north.

But their border defense army indeed retreated to the largest city in the north for garrison.

The Abyssal Gate doesn’t appear in uninhabited places.

But the demons came to Saral too fast! It doesn’t seem like they were resisted.”

Hill silently closed his eyes, tightly suppressing the curses he had yet to voice.

”This is the real nobility,” Fran said coldly, ”Even those within Saral Country who were terrified by His Majesty the King wouldn’t make another choice.”

”Will they really continue to cooperate with the Noble Temple?” Hill murmured, ”But that’s the Evil Faction!”

”The victors persist,” Fran stated briefly, ”His Majesty the King has long been mentally prepared.”

”If they really cooperate with the Noble Temple and collude with the demons both inside and out, that’s treason!” Hill felt incredulous, ”They are leading their entire families to death!”

”The Noble Temple, in the human world, has been established for 100,000 years,” Fran sneered, ”There will always be people who believe that in the realm of plots and schemes, the new gods definitely cannot win against that God of Nobility and Monarchy.”

Hill watched as Fran slowly recited the full name of the God of Nobility, his aura seething with killing intent.

He looked up at the sky, no signs of divine punishment appearing, had the God of Nobility and Monarchy really descended?

Or was it that the Divine Realm of the God of Time and Space had firmly protected the surroundings of Saral, and no matter how many times the Name of God was spoken, other deities couldn’t bring about divine punishment anymore?
