Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 217: Chapter 43 The River of Time and Space Shatters the Starry Sky_2

”They already have a big city with the Magic Cult, and right next to the Capital,” Hill thought for a moment and said, ”Competing with the newly arrived families for military exploits, they’re probably afraid of offending the masses, right? After all, it seems the Demons can’t reach inside Saral territory.”

Fran nodded, ”In any world, one must not offend the vast majority! It seems that even the Undead Tribe that came to our side later is almost in the same position as those who came earlier in their world.”

Hill understood what Fran implied, concessions only occur when there is a fear of equals in power and status.

Hill had actually been avoiding asking about things from the Black and White Path, truly afraid that William might create a side quest inside the instance, ’saving the little Magician Hill in distress.’

Anyway, the Undead Tribe rarely discussed matters related to the instance in his presence, so he just pretended not to hear and lived his days.

But that he existed, that was certain, Hill had sporadically heard.

Those players believed Hill would become the lead character across a series of instances, and said that they must follow whenever Hill left the house, because pioneering the new content came with rich rewards, and they must not miss it.

At these times, Hill wished his hearing was not so sharp.

Old Cat downstairs turned the giant screen back to the front line facing the Demons.

In between the two sides, separated by a kilometer and staring at each other, were blazing flames.

The corpses of Demons littered the ground, and after being purified by Holy Rain, Mages had ignited a Fire Wall.

The smell must be terrible, the Undead on screen had already put on masks.

The upheaval in the Capital and Obastian had no effect, but it had exposed the God of Smithing and Craft.

It seemed that even the Demons didn’t know what to do next.

”William, always merciful and gentle, has shown his sharp fangs this time. Everyone involved in this incident, no matter who, has been executed,” the Witness stated gravely, ”Indeed, that was a power struggle before, where losers could be spared. But according to William’s usual approach, traitors to the nation were executed without exception. Not to mention collaborating with Demons, betraying the entire world.”

”The message I received is that William indeed suspected a betrayal, but didn’t expect it to be on such a massive scale. As for what exactly happened with the God of Smithing and Craft, we are completely in the dark right now.”

He flipped through his tablet and said, ”This one has always been secretive, not flashy like the God of Nobility. Without investigation, no one would know he almost became a deity at the same time as the God of Nobility.”

William has already issued the command for a thorough investigation of the God of Smithing and Craft.

And also to look into that Dwarven God of Smithing.”

Fran leaned back in his chair, looking up at the sky, ”Why is there no reaction from the Starry Sky? The Divine Throne of the God of Craftsmen, how come it’s still in the middle?”

The moonlight had already spilled down onto the Mortal World, but the Starry Sky remained unchanged. The God of Time and Space made no move.

”The temples of the God of Craftsmen have all been destroyed,” the Witness was also talking about this, ”All 3 Capitals have released evidence of their malicious destruction of the Alchemy Factories. Devout believers were also tested for their Faction. It is said some have had their faith collapse and lost consciousness.”

Now, many nominal believers have run to the Temple of the God of Time and Space to pray for Purification of their souls with Holy Water.

”According to logic, the Starry Sky shouldn’t remain motionless, right?”

He looked up at the myriad Stars overhead, ”What’s wrong with this world now?”

”We are still in the real world, right?” Fran murmured, filled with doubt about the world.

”The River of Time and Space has moved!” Hill exclaimed.

The eternal silvery river that stretched across the sky had begun to flow, like a bright whip of light, directly striking the firmament.

The Starry Sky had been shattered!

No, not broken, rather a swath of its fabric had been torn away!

The piece of cloth taken by the River of Time and Space was affixed into the middle of the Starry Sky like a narrow patch.

Behind the torn facade, the sordid truth was revealed.

Beneath the skew Divine Thrones of Nobles and royalty in the Starry Sky, where there used to be scattered stars, five Divine Thrones now stood.

The lowest one, that of the Dwarven God of Forging, was nearly swallowed by Darkness, barely retaining a faint outline.

The Human God of Smithing and Craft was next to it, which was somewhat expected.

Another one was also a Dwarven god, seemingly a Racial God of a certain Dwarf tribe, likely a follower of their God of Forging.

What was incredible was that the Divine Throne of the Elven Goddess of the Hunt also appeared in the domain of evil Deities.

Following right beside Her, was the God of the Moon Elves. The Goddess of the Hunt originated from this race, and when she walked the path to deity, the Moon Elves had been following Her. After she ascended to the Divine Position, she appointed the most devout among them at the time as Her Avatar to govern the Moon Elves.

What had been horizontally placed in the Starry Sky, the River of Time and Space, had now turned diagonally.

But no one cared about that now, their gazes were fixed on the direction of the Elven Goddess of the Hunt, and the entire continent fell silent.

But soon, the fury of the World Consciousness shattered the silence.

Endless judgement thunder struck toward these Divine Kingdoms, and ferocious, burning meteorites were whirled down by tornados.

The world was frozen in that instant. Hill could feel the immense binding force upon him; his thoughts were active, but his body was completely immobile.

That curtain must have something to do with nature.

Hill felt the crazed fury of the Natural Consciousness. The violent winds swept across the land.

In its anger, nature retained a sliver of reason, the massive tornado bypassed Hill’s domain.
