Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2120: Real wealth

The Su Clanʼs formations had many characteristics, one of which was their layering capability—a feature that truly evoked admiration.

When Ye Zhongming first learned of it, he had felt genuinely envious.

Formations, much like individuals, had ranks. According to the arrangement of the Ten Great Formations from large to small, the higher-ranked ones possessed higher priority.

And this priority could be controlled. That is to say, theoretically, any formation other than the Ten Great Formations could be layered on top of the Ten Great Formations.

Of course, this was only theoretical. If the arrangement of the formationʼs core or its patterns conflicted with the Ten Great Formations, it would certainly not work.

Thus, although the Su Clan had essentially completed the layout of their formations across the Overlapping Water Dead Zone overnight, they were still waiting for Huo Zhi to set up the final Golden Soldier Killing Formation.

Ye Zhongming surveyed the Su Clanʼs camp. Compared to yesterday, it appeared somewhat deserted. This was because at least three thousand formation masters and over ten thousand warriors had already departed for the camps of other races to set up formations for a fee.

They were estimated to start returning gradually from tonight onward, with the full complement possibly taking three or four days to return.

Among them, some might encounter danger and not make it back…

Ye Zhongming looked up at the sky. As far as his eyes could see, numerous small black dots were still visible—aircraft that had not yet departed. Once all the Su Clan personnel returned, they would withdraw to outer space and no longer interfere with matters on the planet. Only then would the true test of the various races begin.
”I am about to set it up. Now will you tell me?”

Huo Zhi looked at Ye Zhongming, inquiring about the method to enhance the formationʼs power.

Seeing Huo Zhi and Ye Zhongming emerge, several prominent figures from the Su Clanʼs forces approached, though they kept a certain distance. After all, if Ye Zhongming truly produced a method to enhance the formation, it would belong to Huo Zhi. If they wanted to know it, they would have to obtain it through clan channels later, not by eavesdropping now.

Ye Zhongming thought for a moment, then began speaking to Huo Zhi in a very low voice. Even if someone stood right beside them, they could not overhear, as their words were infused with spiritual energy.

Speaking this way did not trouble Ye Zhongming, but it once again deeply moved Huo Zhi. An uncharacteristic flush of excitement appeared on his face. For someone of his strength and status, this was highly unusual.

He was first surprised by the depth and refinement of Ye Zhongmingʼs spiritual energy, but then… Huo Zhi completely forgot about that. His mind was filled only with Ye Zhongmingʼs method.

”Elder Huo Zhi, I am not a member of the Su Clan. Although I can set up a few formations, due to lacking the innate bloodline talent, I will not make further progress. Therefore, I am not certain whether this method will work or how much improvement it might bring.”

Ye Zhongming revealed the method he knew.

This method was naturally not devised by Ye Zhongming. With his limited knowledge of formations, he could not enhance even the most ordinary formation, let alone one of the Ten Great Formations.

This was, of course, one of the generous gifts from the Library Palace.

The Librarians had no worldly affairs to distract them; they devoted themselves solely to study. There was no power struggle or intrigue within the Library Palace, only day after day, year after year of reading and learning.

Over the years, the number of things they had produced was so vast that they themselves did not know the exact count.

Back when Ye Zhongming became the spokesperson for the Library Palace, they had thought their greatest gift was the ten million Moonspan Gold. But in reality, the materials they had collected over the years, the lost knowledge from various traditions they had acquired, and the countless methods they had researched and deemed of little use—these were the true treasures.

Upon learning that Ye Zhongming had formed an alliance with the Su Clan, the Library Palace began gathering information related to the Su Clan. This effort unearthed an immense amount of information—ancient formations, formation enhancements, and entirely new formations.

Although the Librarians were not Su Clan members and, in theory, could not truly understand and master formations, their relentless focus over centuries and millennia could not be underestimated.

No Su Clan talent? Fine, they would create a method to simulate the Su Clanʼs bloodline and energy circulation.

No formation heritage? Fine, they would scour ancient texts; surely they could find some clues.

No specific formation layouts? Fine, they would research and create new formations themselves!

This was the tenacity of the Librarians!

Yet precisely because of this, they had created countless things they did not consider particularly remarkable, but which would cause a sensation if revealed to the outside world.

This time, in their search for Su Clan-related information for Ye Zhongming, the Library Palace had unearthed many things from who knows where, all of which they gave to Ye Zhongming. However, the method Ye Zhongming now knew for enhancing the Golden Soldier Killing Formation was not among those things.

The method actually came about because the Library Palace, upon seeing Ye Zhongmingʼs cooperation with the Su Clan and the Dean glimpsing Jie Su using the Follower Formation from afar, had a new idea. They assigned people to research it, and within a short time, they had achieved considerable results, which they then sent to Ye Zhongming.

After reading it, Ye Zhongming could not help but admire the Library Palaceʼs research capabilities. Seeing all this material on the Su Clan, he even had the illusion that if the Library Palace wished, they could truly and completely replace the Su Clan.

These Librarians were truly terrifying.

The method for enhancing the Golden Soldier Killing Formation was, in fact, not complicated. It drew inspiration from the Following Formation.

The Following Formation materialized formation energy. This enhancement method, on the other hand, ‘materialized’ the controllerʼs energy.

Naturally, this did not mean turning a person into energy, but rather using the controllerʼs energy, when needed, as an auxiliary or catalyst, genuinely infusing it into the formation.

Yes, this was not an enhancement for a single formation but a collective enhancement—meaning this method could improve all Su Clan formations!

Although this also required talent, much like the Following Formation, its significance was equally epoch-making.

Huo Zhi was now so shocked, tense, and excited that he could hardly breathe. He deeply understood that the value of the method Ye Zhongming had just told him far exceeded the distribution of benefits they had previously agreed upon.

Not to mention a percentage or two; even if Ye Zhongming demanded all the gains from this operation, the Su Clan should offer them fully—no, even offering them fully would be far from enough!

”What… do you want in return?”

Huo Zhi forced himself to calm down. The image of this Bronze Order Leader from the Star-Eye Clan pocketing the physical and mental recovery potions flashed through his mind. He understood that this person would not let him benefit so greatly without something in return.

Ye Zhongming narrowed his eyes and said, ”Elder Huo Zhi, you should be able to set up a smaller-scale, simplified version of the Golden Soldier Killing Formation, one with simpler controls, shouldn’t you?”
