Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2096: Bullied

The place was silent; no one made a sound.

The eight heads looked at the Star-Eye Clan behaving like this and were all somewhat surprised.

But right at this moment, Ye Zhongming suddenly jumped out.

”You are breaking your word! You are bullying people by relying on your power! This matter lacks fairness! It was clearly agreed upon, so why go back on it? Also, the Huaitang Clan promised you benefits, didnʼt they? Then weʼll raise our offer! We only want ten percent! Is that acceptable now? Our Star-Eye Clan borrowed money everywhere just for todayʼs trial. Now weʼve had so many people injured, and so much equipment damaged. How will that be accounted for? Two million? Itʼs not even enough to pay the interest we owe others! You canʼt do this. Dark Strip City needs fairness!”

The rest of the Star-Eye Clan members looked at Ye Zhongming with incredulous expressions, not understanding why he, usually calm and composed, was acting this way.

However, soon, Lady Starʼs hand slammed onto the table, shattering the entire table.

”Yes, this is unfair! Youʼre going back on your word!”

Eye Lord followed up: ”What youʼre doing is driving our Star-Eye Clan to extinction. The Huaitang Clan proposed the Brave Trial. Do you know what price our clansmen paid to achieve final victory? Acting like this, how do you expect our Star-Eye Clan to get through this difficult time?”

Cheng Liujin and White Robe also shouted their unwillingness. The latter, tears in his eyes, even pointed at the Huaitang Clan leader Weicu and demanded another Brave Trial, this time with five thousand people, fighting to the bitter end.

The others among the eight heads exchanged glances, and the suspicion in their eyes from before diminished considerably.
This kind of reaction from the Star-Eye Clan was normal. If they had remained as silent as gold like before, it would undoubtedly have been an expression of hatred.

Dogs that bite donʼt bark. The combat effectiveness the Star-Eye Clan had displayed today had already attracted the attention of the eight heads. If the Star-Eye Clan held a grudge, then they might have to take action against them.

Also, they were equally curious about the abilities the Star-Eye Clan had used today and naturally coveted them in their hearts. But since the general environment was peaceful now, nothing could be done too blatantly. If they let the Star-Eye Clan obtain a huge sum of money and develop, it would be difficult to act later. Suppressing them now, waiting until they couldnʼt go on, and then making them hand over these secrets, was a better choice.

After all, this time they had gained more than when they had cooperated with the Star-Eye Clan before.

”Everyone, calm down a bit!” A clan leader stood up with a majestic aura. ”In your current state, even if you got that much money, could you hold on to it? Holding a treasure is a crime. Weʼre doing this for your own good, too.”

”Yes, indeed. We are very interested in the race that lent you the equipment. We wonder if you could disclose that? Also, those abilities you used – did you learn them yourselves, or did they come from the equipment?”

”As residents of Black Strip City, if you could share the new skills youʼve mastered for everyone to learn, Black Strip City could very well become a major city. We would also take a big step forward. Perhaps it wouldnʼt be impossible for us all to become great clans.”

”Oh, speaking of the city guard, we feel that matter can be rediscussed. Weʼve all seen the Star-Eye Clanʼs combat effectiveness. We unanimously agree that your performance today shows you can serve as a mainstay in the guard in the future.”

”Now that you mention it, I agree. Just as the Huaitang Clan has suffered heavy losses this time, their people can all withdraw from the city guard. The Star-Eye Clan fills the vacant positions.”

These eight heads spoke one after another, completely ignoring the ugly expressions on the Star-Eye Clan membersʼ faces.

This was blatant bullying.

”Weʼre all in a bad mood today. Letʼs stop here. Letʼs go.” Lady Star said angrily to the eight heads, then led her people away. After taking a few steps, she suddenly turned back to look at Weicu.

”Clan Leader, we, the Star-Eye Clan, will swallow todayʼs loss. But the two million Moonspan Gold must be given to us in full, not a single coin less. If you dare renege, our Star-Eye Clan, even at the cost of extinction, will launch a clan-annihilating war against you!”

”We might lose, might be defeated, might be wiped out. But we will also drag you down from your current position. I hope that by then, a few more of you will survive.”

Having said this, all the Star-Eye Clan members withdrew, leaving the eight heads staring at each other in dismay.

”Alas, this time, weʼve really offended the Star-Eye Clan deeply.” A clan leader sighed and said.

Indeed, even after deducting the benefits for each family, the Star-Eye Clan would originally have had at least several tens of millions of Moonspan Gold in revenue. Now, suddenly, it was only two million. This gap was simply too vast, enough to drive a medium-sized race crazy, let alone a small clan like the Star-Eye Clan.

Perhaps it really wasnʼt even enough to cover the interest on the equipment they had borrowed.

Yes, the eight heads believed this and were convinced that the Star-Eye Clan borrowed the equipment. Because they would never imagine that the Star-Eye Clan could manufacture it themselves, nor would they believe that the Star-Eye Clan could cooperate with the Su Clan.

In their view, if they couldnʼt do something, the Star-Eye Clan couldnʼt possibly do it either.

”So what? Do they still dare to disobey? Havenʼt they accepted it?!”

”They accepted it, but do you think those words just now were only directed at the Huaitang Clan? That was also an indirect warning to us, telling us not to push too hard, otherwise it would be mutual destruction!”

”Mutual destruction? Do they even qualify?”

”After todayʼs battle, do you still think that? Fine, even if we are sure to win in a conflict, how much would we lose? Do you want to become a small race all of a sudden?”

Everyone fell silent for a moment, looking at the Star-Eye Clan, which had just finished the Brave Trial, with a bit of newfound respect.

If those masked fellows really went all out, it would indeed be somewhat troublesome.

”Alright, Iʼm only saying this to make everyone pay attention. Donʼt corner the Star-Eye Clan. Just wear them down gradually through other means. Joining the city guard is a good idea, for instance. Be mindful of the situation, and theyʼll give in.”

Only then did everyoneʼs expressions improve considerably. They thought this was the best approach – to kill with a blunt knife, bit by bit.

”Oh, by the way, Clan Leader Weicu. We helped you this time, preventing a small clan from forcing you into bankruptcy. But donʼt forget what you promised us. Itʼs best to do it quickly. We want to see everything implemented within thirty days. Otherwise, the friendship of old friends will be gone by then.”

A clan leader said to Weicu. Todayʼs performance by the Huaitang Clan had shown everyone their weakness, and their words were no longer polite.

After that, the eight heads left one by one. One clan leader, who had a very ordinary relationship with the Huaitang Clan, specially said before leaving: ”Donʼt forget, eight hundred thousand Moonspan Gold per clan, or items of equivalent value. Hurry up.”

Weicu pursed his lips and nodded. Only after the rest of the eight heads had completely gone did he let out a roar and shatter a nearby heavy transport vehicle with a single palm strike.
