Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2118: Improved formation

A faint scent of blood still lingered in the air, even though a day had passed since the landing battle; the residual odor had yet to dissipate fully.

Ye Zhongming and Jie Su sat inside a temporarily erected tent, drinking water and chatting.

Of course, this was merely what Su Clan members occasionally glimpsed as they passed by the open metal door. If they had heard the content of their conversation, they would have been greatly shocked.

”The Huoʼer Star People chose the Black Scroll Absolute Peak. That was something we hadnʼt anticipated.”

Jie Su looked outside and spoke softly.

Ye Zhongming opened his terminal, located the Black Scroll Absolute Peak, examined it, and said, ”Skill lends courage.”

Jie Su nodded.

The Black Scroll Absolute Peak was a place Ye Zhongming himself had not previously considered.

Aside from the high level and large number of prey there, it was also because all the prey there could fly.

It was the habitat of the largest and most numerous group of flying lifeforms on this planet.
The Black Scroll Absolute Peak was essentially a flat area in the middle of a mountain range. Surrounded by towering peaks on all sides and bottomless abysses, hunting there would be largely passive. Whenever the flying lifeforms on the surrounding peaks attacked them, that would be their hunting opportunity.

This kind of choice, essentially placing oneself in a desperate situation to survive, was not something ordinary races could make. Only a super race like the Huoʼer Star People possessed such courage.

”Although attacking flying lifeforms is not easy, their average value is twenty to thirty percent higher than land-based lifeforms. So even if the total number of prey there is less than in other places, the final gains might surpass them.”

Jie Su spoke and shook his head slightly. This was something the Su Clan truly could not envy. Despite being a super-large clan as well, they could only dispatch between one hundred thousand and two hundred thousand warriors, with only a handful of top-tier experts. However, it was said that the Huoʼer Star People had deployed over five hundred thousand warriors this time, including more than ten top-tier experts, one of whom was a revered peak expert, an existence with combat power exceeding two hundred thousand Furelai.

That was already among the foremost cosmic lifeforms.

With such numbers and strength, where could they not go?

”For Zimuʼs sake, the Huoʼer Star People are certainly willing to invest heavily.” Ye Zhongming sneered.

”Not entirely for Zimu, but he is definitely a major reason.” Jie Su also looked displeased. After all, this concerned White Robe. The better Zimu fared, the worse it was for White Robe. As a brother, he felt the same.

”If Zimu died here, then there wouldnʼt be so many troubles.” Ye Zhongming spoke very softly, but to Jie Suʼs ears, it was like a thunderclap.

”You... youʼre not thinking...”

When Jie Su had discussed this matter with Ye Zhongming before, he had certainly entertained homicidal thoughts, but he also knew it was an almost impossible task. His original idea had been to have the Su Clan intervene, with the Star-Eye Clan assisting from the side.

He believed that as long as the Su Clan stepped in, even if they could not completely make the Sheke Star People refuse the marriage alliance with the Huoʼer Star People, they could at least delay matters further. The longer the delay, the more advantageous it would be for these young people. As their strength increased, the resources and power they wielded would gradually give them the qualifications to influence the situation.

But he had not expected that the person sitting opposite him wanted to directly eliminate Zimu.

”This... firstly, itʼs nearly impossible. Secondly, even if we did succeed, the consequences would be beyond what we could bear. He is not just some deputy commander of a merchant caravan, where a few scapegoats and a large sum of money could smooth things over, even if he died in Dark Strip City.”

Jie Su was referring to the incident when the Huoʼer Star People had openly tried to sell things in Dark Strip City with the Changxu Water Race...

Ye Zhongming fell silent for a moment, not continuing the conversation.

Instead, Jie Su looked at him and asked again, ”Are you really planning to do this?”

Subconsciously, Jie Suʼs voice dropped very low.

Ye Zhongming nodded. ”I understand your thinking, wanting to leverage the Su Clanʼs influence. But to be honest, itʼs difficult... Even if their clan leader stood on our side, if there were friction with a super-large leading race, the other two factions would absolutely not agree. Without the Su Clanʼs help, trying to stop the marriage alliance with our own strength is wishful thinking.”

”Taking advantage of Zimu being here before us now, eliminating him is the best and most effective way.”

Ye Zhongmingʼs tone remained indifferent, as if he were talking about slaughtering a chicken or a dog.

”But the retaliation...”

”Where thereʼs a will, thereʼs a way.”

Jie Su fell silent, staring at Ye Zhongming for a full half minute, then slowly nodded, a glint of sharpness flashing in his eyes.

……………………

”You brat, look at the place you chose. Yesterday alone, our casualties exceeded five hundred!”

A voice preceded the person. Then Huo Zhi, the handsome elder, entered with a smile.

Although his words sounded like reproach, the reality was clearly different. Now, although some things had yet to be set up, they had at least established a foothold on the Overlapping Water Dead Zone.

A good start was half the battle. No wonder Huo Zhi was in a good mood.

”Elder Huo Zhi, why donʼt you mention the gains? I just heard from Jie Su that you obtained at least 10,000 different prey!

Ye Zhongming replied with a chuckle.

”That was also the result of the clanʼs warriors fighting desperately.”

The Cloud Peak King rolled his eyes. Well, you always had a point.

”Today, we plan to set up the Golden Soldier Killing Formation. The moment of truth for you has arrived.”

A look of anticipation appeared in Huo Zhiʼs eyes.

Generally speaking, every Su Clan member had a signature formation. It wasnʼt that their life was connected to the formation, but rather a measure of their familiarity with it. The formation they knew best was their signature formation.

The Golden Soldier Killing Formation was Huo Zhiʼs signature formation.

If it could be enhanced, it would undoubtedly be of great importance to Huo Zhi.

”Are we setting it up now?”

Ye Zhongming asked.

”If you are ready, yes.” Huo Zhi nodded in confirmation.

”Then let me take a look at the materials first.”

Huo Zhi hesitated only briefly before presenting the materials for setting up the Golden Soldier Killing Formation.

Normally, the materials used for a formation were kept confidential, especially for the Ten Great Formations. This demonstrated how much Huo Zhi trusted Ye Zhongming.

Ye Zhongming began inspecting the boxes one by one. It was quite some time before he sat down again.

”I need about ten hours or so.”

Although Jie Su and Huo Zhi were unclear what Ye Zhongming intended to do, they exchanged a glance and nodded in agreement, leaving the tent for Ye Zhongming.

Seeing that nothing was pressing, Jie Su left first. Huo Zhi remained, as Ye Zhongming had mentioned that the method for enhancing the Golden Soldier Killing Formation could be taught to him.

”Letʼs begin,” Huo Zhi said calmly.
