Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2115: Twists and turns

”Sometimes itʼs hard to imagine that our Star-Eye Clan can actually stand on our own,” White Robe said to Ye Zhongming beside him, looking at the rapidly passing scenery outside and listening to the continuous sounds of various energy attacks.

The Su Clanʼs landing plan was, in fact, nothing special. After the Su Clan warships escorted everyone through the atmosphere to the area above the Overlapping Water Dead Zone, they would immediately commence the landing operation.

The battle plan was simply that the Su Clan would be responsible for two directions, the Star-Eye Clan for one direction, and the other small clans of the Dark Strip City alliance for the final direction.

In terms of numbers, this allocation was reasonable. The Su Clan and the small clan alliance had roughly the same number of warriors, so each taking two directions was justifiable.

However, in terms of strength, the small clan alliance was clearly somewhat lacking; they were actually more suited to defending just one direction.

If it were another race, they would most likely do the same. After all, this was not the time to worry about casualties or preserving strength. If the landing was not successful, they would risk being surrounded and attacked by the planetʼs native lifeforms, leading to a failed landing.

If that happened, they would have no choice but to hover in the air and attempt a second landing, but it was easy to imagine how much more difficult that would be.

If consecutive landings failed, the only option would be to apply to reselect a camp location. But by then, the only choices would be barren lands, where even if there were gains, they would never be substantial.

It would likely not even cover the losses from the previous failed landing.

Unfortunately, the Star-Eye Clan and the small clan alliance were cooperating with the Su Clan. Among the Su Clanʼs one hundred thousand warriors, although most were those with combat talent within the clan, they ultimately lacked experience in frontal combat. Therefore, to achieve a successful landing without excessive losses, being responsible for two directions was their maximum capacity.
Of course, in terms of combat capability, the Star-Eye Clan and the other small clan alliance warriors were not exceptionally skilled either, but the situation left no other choice.

Fortunately, the two sections the Su Clan was responsible for were the most difficult and dangerous: the eastern entrance near the Blue Demon Desert and the entrance near the Silent Rainforest to the south. Near these two entrances on the Overlapping Water Dead Zone, there were many prey.

The Dark Strip City small clan alliance was responsible for the west side facing the Long River Alluvial Plain. There were also many monsters here, including some very powerful ones, though their numbers were slightly fewer than the southeast sides.

The Star-Eye Clan had the easiest task. They were responsible for the north side, the Half-Abyss Demon Cave. For some unknown reason, there were not many lifeforms inhabiting this area. However, the Star-Eye Clan only had about twenty thousand warriors, so they would inevitably face a tough battle as well.

This was why White Robe said the Star-Eye Clan could stand on their own. It was important to note that the landing battle positions represented not just a single battle, but the locations where each side would set up camp. In other words, these were their defense zones. Although the final gains would be distributed uniformly, each defense zone was entitled to take twenty percent of its own gains directly.

”If we separate the warriors of the various races, it would be very unreasonable, and no one would agree. So this allocation is the only way. Fortunately, our opponents donʼt seem to be too numerous.”

Lord Eye looked at the constantly flashing data on his terminal and said.

”When we parachute down, the Gold Camp will assault first, followed by the Silver Camp, with the Bronze Camp last. The Clan Leaderʼs Guard and other experts within the clan will be ready to strike at any moment against those powerful existences. For now, do not transform.”

Lord Eye spoke in this manner, not because he looked down on the Bronze Camp, but because although the Bronze Campʼs strength had advanced by leaps and bounds under Ye Zhongmingʼs tutelage during this period, the time had been short, and a large-scale qualitative change had not yet occurred. In fact, not only the Bronze Camp, but even the Silver Camp could only play a supporting role in a battle of this level. The real main force was the Gold Camp and the Clan Leaderʼs Guard.

”Beep beep, beep beep!”

The terminals of all Star-Eye Clan members sounded simultaneously. This was a signal to prepare for departure. A red light inside the cabin also lit up, and everyone rose, gripping the metal railings beside them.

The moment the green light illuminated, the cabin door opened, and the Star-Eye Clan warriors leaped out one after another.

”Watch your surroundings, beware of attacks!”

Lord Eye’s voice came through everyoneʼs communication earpiece, reminding them to be cautious. After all, they were still several dozen meters above the ground, and during this descent, they might be attacked by flying lifeforms or even ground-based lifeforms.

The Gold Mask warriors, who had jumped first, vigilantly scanned their surroundings. They attacked and destroyed anything that might pose a threat to them.

”Silver Camp, now!”

Lord Eye’s command continued. The Silver Camp warriors, fully prepared, began jumping from the troop transport. Their numbers were large, so from the ground, it looked like they were blotting out the sky.

About ten seconds later, Lord Eye gave the order again, and the Bronze Camp jumped together with him and Ye Zhongming.

The reason he jumped with the Bronze Camp was undoubtedly to look out for them.

The Bronze Camp warriors immediately leaped from the large troop transport, and Ye Zhongming was among this group.

Although the transport ship was large, when jumping out, one still felt a sense of openness.

The air had a freshness not found in the survivor fortresses, perhaps mixed with some complex odors, but upon inhaling it, one still felt very free and comfortable.

Ye Zhongming quickly surveyed the surroundings in mid-air and saw that within his field of vision, the area was almost covered with warriors from various races. Nearly two hundred thousand warriors descending together was an extremely spectacular and awe-inspiring sight.

”Look, the Half-Abyss Demon Cave!”

Lord Eye was beside Ye Zhongming. The situation in the air was still safe, so he had the leisure to point out the direction they were defending.

Although Ye Zhongming had seen it on the holographic map before, seeing it now with his own eyes was still quite shocking.

It looked as if the walls of the abyss were riddled with countless openings, large and small caves distributed across them, their interiors pitch black, giving a grim and terrifying feeling.

What was even more unsettling was that there was an extremely wide path leading to the very bottom of this half-abyss. The feeling of descending continuously, deeper into the abyss, closer to the caves, was likely to be utterly terrifying.

Ye Zhongming looked only once and then looked away. That was a matter for later. Now, he needed to help the clan establish a foothold here as much as possible.

He began firing his gun. Although the cosmic races had mostly abandoned such weapons, it was still somewhat useful now. Warriors who had not yet landed could use various types of firearms from a high vantage point to attack certain targets, assisting their comrades who had already landed.

After firing a few shots, Ye Zhongming felt his body suddenly slow down, his descent speed decreasing rapidly. He moved with the momentum and stepped onto the ground of the Planet Hunting Ground

…………………

At that very moment, countless races across various locations on this planet were engaged in landing battles. The once peaceful and serene planet had instantly become a bloody battlefield. To successfully build their camps, the myriad races fought fiercely under aerial cover. In an instant, it seemed the entire planet was stained with blood.

Most races were relatively successful, with only a small portion encountering stubborn resistance. Many races had even sent distress signals to their familiar allies…

Among those who were less successful were the alliance of the Su Clan and the Star-Eye Clan.

Initially, the descent had gone very smoothly. Although there were quite a few native lifeforms on the Su Clanʼs side, they were quickly killed or driven off the paths under the Su Clanʼs attacks. The Star-Eye Clanʼs side also had a smooth landing battle due to the scarcity of monsters; they had even cleared large open areas for transport ships faster than the Su Clan.

However, problems arose on the small clan allianceʼs side.

At first, things had also gone smoothly for them, but accidents always happen.

Just as the small clan alliance had cleared away most of the prey at a small cost and driven the rest near the paths, a group of flying lifeforms suddenly rose from the Silent Rainforest near their location and charged straight towards the skies above the small clan alliance. Their numbers reached nearly ten thousand.

The sudden situation was already unexpected, and misfortune did not come alone. Many mutated lifeforms were also disturbed and rushed from the plain onto the paths. Among them, one monster was particularly powerful, reaching the path entrance, which had little defense, within seconds.

This not only caught the small clan alliance off guard but also startled the Su Clan, who immediately dispatched five thousand troops to assist.

The Star-Eye Clan also noticed the anomaly, and the Clan Leaderʼs Guard, led by Lord Eye, quickly went to support.

Because the battle was ongoing and there were still many flying lifeforms in the air, the second wave of transport ships and logistics personnel that were supposed to land on the Overlapping Water Dead Zone had to remain airborne.

Perhaps these aerial targets were somewhat large, but before the battle on the small clan allianceʼs side had ended, a massive number of flying lifeforms once again rose from the Silent Rainforest!

At this moment, even Ye Zhongmingʼs expression changed slightly.
