Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2110.5- High risk high reward (2)

The two Lords glanced at Ye Zhongming. After hearing the staff officer’s words, they also disagreed with the choice of this location. It was too dangerous.

The small clan members and the Su Clan members also looked at Ye Zhongming, waiting for him to give up on his own.

Unfortunately, they saw Ye Zhongming shaking his head. He was rejecting the staff officer’s words.

“Are you saying the reason for not choosing this place is that the number of prey here is too high, too high for us to handle?”

“Of course. Isn’t that enough?”

The strategist now spoke with righteous confidence.

“Not enough.” Ye Zhongming was equally righteous.

This made everyone frown a bit.

The staff officer’s confidence was based on solid reasoning, supported by facts and sound foundations. Ye Zhongming’s confidence, however, seemed somewhat unreasonable.

Ye Zhongming walked to the console and directly turned off the map on the light screen, leaving only their individual communication images.
“What are we going to the Planet Hunting Ground for? Isn’t it to obtain prey? Therefore, the primary factor to consider, I believe, should be where the most prey is, and that location has absolute priority.”

As he spoke, Ye Zhongming waved his hand to silence those who wanted to interrupt him.

“I know what you want to say. You want to say that only looking at the number of prey is too one-sided, is childish behavior. Perhaps in your hearts, you even think my idea is foolish and naive.”

“Under normal circumstances, you would be right. An army of two hundred thousand, deducting logistics personnel, only about one hundred eighty thousand are combat-ready. It would be impossible to hold the Overlapping Water Dead Zone. But to gain more, you have to take risks. And my choice to take a risk here is based on evidence.”

Ye Zhongming checked the time. There were twenty minutes left before the collective communication of the myriad races, which should be enough.

“The intelligence we have shows that there are five locations of powerful flying lifeforms on this planet. Three of these are groups of mutated lifeforms, and two are powerful individual lifeforms. But whether groups or individuals, their habitats are very far from this Overlapping Water Dead Zone. In fact, four of them are not even in the same hemisphere. In other words, the threat we face from the sky will not be too great.”

Everyone quickly checked their terminals and found that this was indeed the case. They just did not understand the point of Ye Zhongming saying this.

Without a threat from the sky, could they set up camp here?

“Since there is no major threat from the sky, that makes things easier.” Ye Zhongming seemed to be talking to himself. He then tapped on his own terminal and connected to the shared light screen, and an image appeared.

“Kepaisi Sky Cover?”

Everyone was surprised. This thing… what was Ye Zhongming going to do?

“I have prepared all the materials needed for the Kepaisi Sky Cover.”

Gasps erupted at this moment, one after another.

The Kepaisi Sky Cover was not particularly popular. Some people did not know what it was, and only after their companions explained did they understand.

The Kepaisi Sky Cover was an artificial defensive measure with many functions, primarily for aerial defense.

Because the Kepaisi Sky Cover, in terms of its external form, was a gigantic metal layer that could cover a very large area. Depending on the area, a corresponding number of metal pillars supported its edges. Below it were the beings requiring protection.

On the metal layer, there were numerous anti-air defense installations. Although none were overly powerful, their sheer number was an advantage. They were densely packed, covering an area of about one kilometer around the Kepaisi Sky Cover, leaving almost no blind spots for attacks.

Even the supporting metal claws had various defensive measures, the most famous of which was the Elemental Light Barrier.

Each metal claw had many nodes. These nodes could emit energy lines imbued with elemental attributes. Energy lines from adjacent metal claws could connect, thus forming a light ring the same size as the metal cover above. Many such light rings formed the Elemental Light Barrier.

Although this Light Barrier was passive, its power was considerable. Lifeforms that touched it would suffer a strong attack. Furthermore, various types of elements could be selected and adjusted according to the attributes of the invading enemy.

“Without a strong aerial threat, and with the Kepaisi Sky Cover, the threat from the sky can be essentially eliminated. What remains are ground threats. Moreover, the Kepaisi Sky Cover also provides some co-defense support for the ground. Those who understand this thing know it well, so I won’t elaborate.”

This device seemed unremarkable; perhaps only the Elemental Light Barrier appeared decent. However, those in the know understood that the Kepaisi Sky Cover was strategic. As long as it was present, the aerial threat was minimized, allowing one to focus solely on ground defense. Even if all the various defense installations on the cover were breached, and those on the metal claws were destroyed, the metal cover itself would still take time to destroy. It was worth noting that the metal claws could extend and retract freely, allowing the user to control the height of the cover.

Simultaneously, if the metal claws came under attack and could no longer support the cover, the user could also detonate the Kepaisi Sky Cover. Countless metal fragments would fly outward, creating a true metal storm of immense power.

Many who had been skeptical of Ye Zhongming’s plan were now beginning to waver.

If they had the help of the Kepaisi Sky Cover, perhaps, possibly, they could give it a try?

Moreover, they had initially thought he was just an arrogant person, emboldened by the Su Clan’s favor, not knowing his limits. But now it seemed that no matter how outrageous his suggestions, he had at least come prepared.

Not to mention anything else, the specific price of the Kepaisi Sky Cover depended on the area. Even if it were only half the size of the Overlapping Water Dead Zone, it would likely cost no less than ten million Moonspan Gold.

“The Kepaisi Sky Cover I commissioned is large enough to cover the entire Overlapping Water Dead Zone. For this, I spent thirty million Moonspan Gold! Of course, I also had some special functions added to it, which everyone will see in the future.”

Another round of loud gasps came from below.

Thirty million Moonspan Gold! What kind of boldness was this? For one of their small clans, even with their maximum profits, could they earn thirty million Moonspan Gold in profit? He… actually had thirty million Moonspan Gold!?

Not to mention others, even the people of the Star-Eye Clan looked at Ye Zhongming with changed expressions. This kid, without a word, had actually prepared such a thing!

Ye Zhongming gave everyone an apologetic look. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to tell them earlier, but the item was only completed on the day of departure. He had purchased it through the Library Palace’s channels. On that day, they were about to take action against the Huaitang Clan, and Ye Zhongming did not want to distract everyone with other thoughts.

“This is just my first preparation.”

Upon hearing this, everyone perked up. The first preparation was already this good? What was the second?
