Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2112: Flexible plan

Under normal circumstances, when cooperating in the Planet Hunting Ground, each party’s gains naturally belonged to themselves. However, the situation between the Su Clan, the Star-Eye Clan, and the small clan alliance could not be calculated that way.

After all, there was a significant disparity in strength between the two sides. Regardless of which location was chosen as the camp, the Su Clan’s formation assistance was necessary. An equal distribution would obviously be unreasonable.

When Ye Zhongming and the Su Clan decided to cooperate, there was a preliminary consensus on the distribution. But this time, after all, the Su Clan had dispatched one hundred thousand warriors. If not for the fortunate circumstances that led the Star-Eye Clan to form the small clan alliance, their troop count would have been five to six times smaller than the Su Clan’s, and taking half each would have been unjustifiable.

Before finalizing the camp location, the Star-Eye Clan, the small clan alliance, and the Su Clan had already roughly agreed on the final distribution ratio: the Su Clan would take seventy percent, and the remaining thirty percent would go to the small clan alliance’s side. As for the gains from hunting parties dispatched from the camp, those naturally belonged to each party itself, provided they did not neglect the camp’s defense.

The thirty percent share would then be distributed among the Star-Eye Clan and the other small clans. With terminal records, such a distribution could ensure sufficient fairness.

But now the situation was different. If the Overlapping Water Dead Zone were chosen, Ye Zhongming’s three methods would inevitably be used. This would suddenly elevate the Star-Eye Clan’s role. For Ye Zhongming, if his side contributed so significantly yet ended up taking only thirty percent, he would certainly be dissatisfied.

“Young man, your claim about enhancing the Golden Soldier Killing Formation is still unsubstantiated, yet you’re already thinking about dividing the pie? Isn’t that a bit too greedy?”

Elder Zhongken Su’s expression was displeased. Even now, he still doubted whether Ye Zhongming could truly enhance the Golden Soldier Killing Formation to the extent he claimed.

Ye Zhongming shook his head, checked the time—only a few minutes left, time was tight.

“One takes rewards commensurate with the effort put in. I find that very reasonable.” Ye Zhongming pointed at the topographic map of the Overlapping Water Dead Zone that had reappeared on the light screen. “Without my three methods, this place cannot become our camping ground, and naturally, there would be no gains to speak of. Now, with my methods, we can hunt here. Is it unreasonable for me to demand the corresponding benefits?”
“It’s not unreasonable; in fact, it’s very reasonable. But you cannot treat something that hasn’t happened yet as a fact! Proposing the distribution amount now is what’s unreasonable.”

“If we can’t agree on the final distribution, what kind of cooperation are we talking about?”

“Cooperation is based on factual results. Without proof, just because you, Ye Zhongming, say something casually, we have to give up our share? What if you fail to deliver in the end?”

“Since I’ve said it, naturally, I am confident. I’ll say it again: do you think I am the kind of person who would casually gamble with my own life?”

“You aren’t, but I can’t guarantee you aren’t the kind who likes to take reckless risks!”

The two sides went back and forth, neither yielding.

Ye Zhongming grew anxious inwardly. If they couldn’t finalize the matter quickly, the collective communication of the cosmic races would inevitably force them to choose the locations previously decided by the Su Clan.

“Let me speak.”

At this moment, Huo Zhi stepped forward.

He first gave Ye Zhongming a deep look, then addressed the two elders of his own clan: “If, I say if, what Ye Zhongming said about improving the Golden Soldier Killing Formation is true, then, would choosing the Overlapping Water Dead Zone be feasible or not?”

Huo Zhi’s prestige was clearly not comparable to Ye Zhongming’s. He was an idol to many young Su Clan members, especially those not from the direct bloodline, who almost worshipped him. They all hoped to one day achieve what Huo Zhi had, becoming an elder from a non-direct line and learning to master the Ten Great Formations.

Even the two elders had to take his words seriously.

Now, knowing time was almost up, Huo Zhi presented a choice, first settling on the location.

The two elders frowned, exchanged glances, and found themselves unable to decide.

“Very well. Since you do not speak, I will make the decision and bear all consequences accordingly.” Huo Zhi said with great resolve. “I decide that we will set up camp at the Overlapping Water Dead Zone!”

The decision was final!

Ye Zhongming cast a grateful look at this elder.

Regardless of how the Cloud Peak King would fare in the future, at least now, given his status and strength, if the two Su Clan elders stubbornly insisted on their choice, Ye Zhongming would have no recourse. Huo Zhi’s support was what he needed most.

“As for the distribution of benefits…”

Huo Zhi did not announce it immediately because he had to be cautious.

He had made the decision on the location unilaterally because he knew the two direct-line elders had essentially already agreed. Their silence was partly due to fear of responsibility and partly because they were genuinely hesitant, unsure whether to take the risk. By making the decision for them, the two elders would not object.

However, regarding the matter of benefit distribution, Huo Zhi had to haggle over every detail. Otherwise, he and the entire Su Clan would not be able to account for it.

“You said you can enhance the power of the Golden Soldier Killing Formation by at least twenty percent…”

Huo Zhi looked at Ye Zhongming, who immediately nodded. “Yes.”

“And at most, you can enhance it by fifty percent…”

“Correct!”

Ye Zhongming knew he had to appear confident and assured at this moment.

“How about this then?” Huo Zhi glanced at the time. One minute remained.

“If you can increase the power of the Golden Soldier Killing Formation by twenty percent, then ten percent of the coalition’s total gains will go to you. For each additional 10% increase, you get an extra 5%. If you truly manage to increase the Golden Soldier Killing Formation’s power by fifty percent, you will receive twenty-five percent.”

Previously, the Su Clan took 70%. If Ye Zhongming truly enhanced the Golden Soldier Killing Formation by fifty percent, then without a doubt, the small clan alliance he represented would receive fifty-five percent of the total gains, and the Su Clan would take only forty-five percent.

“You have prepared the Kepaisi Sky Cover, and so many mechanical war beasts, and you possess the ability to improve one of the Ten Great Formations. These preparations, in exchange for a maximum of twenty-five percent and a minimum of ten percent of the total gains for you personally, seems fair, doesn’t it?”

Huo Zhi laid out his proposal.

It was a flexible plan, ultimately dependent on the effectiveness of Ye Zhongming’s improvement to the Golden Soldier Killing Formation.

“Zhongming? Elders?”

Huo Zhi’s voice suddenly rose a few notches, carrying a tone that brooked no challenge.

Several people nodded together. This plan was acceptable to everyone.

Just as they reached a final consensus, the communication request from the myriad races was transmitted to the Su Clan and Star-Eye Clan’s spacecraft. The selection of the camp location was about to begin.

“If I teach you all the improvement method, I want an additional five percent.”

The hands of those about to press the accept button suddenly stopped because of Ye Zhongming’s words. Huo Zhi and the two elders exchanged glances. It was the former who spoke.

“Agreed.”
