Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2116: Twists and turns (2)

In many situations, Chinese people value a good start, believing that a strong beginning is half the battle and hoping for swift success and a victorious start. No one wants an unfavorable beginning.

Although Ye Zhongming never paid much attention to such customs, if the delay continued, it would very likely attract more attacks from lifeforms. At that point, without formations, without the Kepaisi Sky Cover, it would be absolutely impossible for just two hundred thousand people to defend the Overlapping Water Dead Zone, which was surrounded on all sides by top-tier hunting grounds.

If the situation deteriorated, the Su Clan and Star-Eye Clan would be forced to retreat and re-attempt the landing battle. By then, the difficulty would be immense.

As if confirming Ye Zhongmingʼs concerns, a great commotion suddenly arose from the Long River Alluvial Plain, which had been relatively calm. Moments later, a rumbling sound began to emanate.

No one was foolish; they naturally knew this was a sign of a large number of lifeforms rapidly approaching. It would likely not be long before they charged up the path on this side.

”No, we must quickly suppress these monsters. Otherwise, with the chain reaction, it will be far too dangerous!”

It wasnʼt just Ye Zhongming who reached this conclusion; the Su Clan side also came to the same decision, once again dispatching ten thousand troops to assist. The Star-Eye Clan similarly sent an additional three thousand people to help.

Ye Zhongming opened his terminal, using the surveillance from the aircraft still in the air to observe the entire area around the Overlapping Water Dead Zone. His frown deepened.

Although the Blue Demon Desert and the Silent Rainforest appeared calm for now, the surveillance footage showed signs of lifeforms gathering in many places. If they also launched attacks simultaneously, the Su Clan would inevitably be unable to cover other locations. If that happened, the situation would truly deteriorate.

Choosing the Overlapping Water Dead Zone was spearheaded by Ye Zhongming. If it failed, the consequences for him, for the Star-Eye Clan, for the Su Clan, and for their cooperation would all be fatal.
He surveyed the situation once more, specifically checking the Half-Abyss Demon Cave side. Seeing that the caves still showed no activity, he made a bold decision!

”What? A forced landing?”

Lord Eye had taken some people to assist the small clan alliance, leaving Lady Star in command here. When she heard Ye Zhongmingʼs suggestion, she was very surprised.

The current situation was that over ten thousand flying lifeforms were constantly attacking the forces in the air above the Overlapping Water Dead Zone. Although most were concentrated near the small clan alliance, given their speed, they could reach other locations within tens of seconds.

To avoid aerial attacks, the transport ships had ascended to higher altitudes, trying to escape the attacks of the airborne lifeforms. However, if they attempted to descend, they would immediately become the primary targets. Under these circumstances, a forced landing was extremely dangerous, with almost no chance of success.

”This is the only way to do it now!” Ye Zhongming spoke rapidly. ”The materials for setting up the formations and the camp are all on the transport ships. If the transport ships cannot land, we can only rely on the warriors to fight head-on. If it were just these incoming monsters, that might be manageable, but as time drags on, it will inevitably trigger a chain reaction. Prey from other places will come to attack. After all, we are invaders, foreign lifeforms; they will instinctively attack us. By then, we can only engage in a war of attrition with them bit by bit. The losses will be too great. We only have two hundred thousand people, while the prey numbers in the billions. Add to that the Su Clanʼs lack of proficiency in direct combat, and the relatively lower quality of our warriors and those from the small clan alliance. We might be stuck in this passive defensive situation for days, and in the end, even leaving might become problematic.”

Because warriors were being wounded and even killed every moment, Ye Zhongming spoke quickly. He had to convince Lady Star to give the order for the Star-Eye Clanʼs own aircraft to land.

Lady Star did not respond immediately.

Although she trusted Ye Zhongming deeply, this course of action was extremely risky. If it failed, they would not only lose the transport ships but also the vast amount of material inside them.

If such a thing happened, this entire operation would truly be doomed.

”The location Iʼve chosen for the forced landing is here!”

Ye Zhongming tapped on the holographic map on his terminal and said, ”Landing within the Overlapping Water Dead Zone itself is definitely not feasible. It would be too close to the mutated airborne lifeforms; they would interfere throughout the entire landing process. However, landing here should be much safer, and the space is large and flat enough.”

The location Ye Zhongming pointed out was the wide, downward-sloping path of the Half-Abyss Demon Cave.

Over there, for some unknown reason, the parasites inside the demon cave had not emerged, and the mutated lifeforms also seemed very reluctant to approach that area. Therefore, it was relatively the safest.

Lady Star looked at it, gritted her teeth, and then said, ”Letʼs go for it!”

The order for a forced landing on the downward slope of the Half-Abyss Demon Cave was transmitted to the Star-Eye Clanʼs aircraft. Several transport ships, escorted by guard ships, immediately began moving towards the target.

Their movements drew the attention of many mutated lifeforms, especially the flying ones. Several thousand of them immediately split off to attack. Fortunately, the speed of the aircraft made the journey from above the Overlapping Water Dead Zone to above the Half-Abyss Demon Cave a matter of moments. By the time the aircraft selected their landing site, those flying lifeforms did not launch an attack. Instead, they flew in a circle and returned to the main force, continuing their struggle near the small clan alliance.

Thus, the Star-Eye Clanʼs aircraft successfully landed on the downward slope of the Half-Abyss Demon Cave.

The cabin doors opened, and heavy transport vehicles roared out. Escorted by some warriors, they headed towards the Star-Eye Clanʼs camp. Meanwhile, the base also dispatched a large number of warriors to meet and escort them.

There were too many materials to fit into spatial equipment, so they had to be transported via these vehicles. Fortunately, everything went relatively smoothly, and they arrived in the Overlapping Water Dead Zone without any major incidents.

”Open boxes 1009 to 1100!” Ye Zhongmingʼs voice rang out. These were part of the boxes dedicated to transporting materials for the Bronze Camp.

These metal boxes, at least half the size of a shipping container, were unloaded and opened. Ye Zhongming immediately called over the Star-Eye Clanʼs technical department and some warriors, distributing the assembly drawings to their terminals.

”Very simple, not complicated. Start from our side!”

At this moment, the Su Clan personnel whom Ye Zhongming had summoned earlier also arrived. Ye Zhongming similarly handed over some materials and drawings to them, instructing them to set up quickly at the designated locations.

Lady Star watched from the side. Now she understood what Ye Zhongming intended to do and expressed her concern, ”You want to set up the Kepaisi Sky Cover forcibly? But the support pillars on the small clan allianceʼs side cannot be installed!

Ye Zhongming glanced over there and said, ”We canʼt worry about that now. We have to take a gamble.”
