Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2061: Battle Potential (3)

The sizzling and crackling sounds became the theme of the entire Mei City in the next moment. These huge electric nets fell on the parasites. Perhaps some powerful beings were not immediately electrocuted to death, but paralysis was certain. Even those with strength around level seven were inevitably immobilized for a certain period.

Cloud Peakʼs purpose in releasing these electric nets was indeed not to kill the parasites, but to prepare for the real killing move... the self-destructing gene soldiers.

Like many other technologies, Cloud Peak also made significant progress in the research of self-destructing gene soldiers, and gradually differentiated into two mature types.

One type was the complete self-destructing type. The sole function of these self-destruct gene soldiers was to explode, causing damage to the surroundings. There were many types of damage, mainly energy damage from the explosion, with toxin damage accounting for a significant proportion. The rest, such as gene contamination, corrosion, burning, etc., depended on the situation and could be added to the self-destruct lifeforms at any time.

The other type was the combat type. These self-destruct gene soldiers would not immediately self-destruct. Instead, they possessed decent combat power, but when they died in battle, the characteristics within their bodies would be triggered, causing an explosion.

The most ideal situation would naturally be to combine the two types of self-destruct gene soldiers. However, there were technical difficulties, and the cost was high, far less cost-effective than manufacturing the two types of gene soldiers separately.

After the Thunderbolt Electric Insect Nets fell, huge creatures flew in from the high points around Mei City. These were flying giant beasts raised by Cloud Peak, not for combat, but for transportation.

At this moment, large compartment-like metal cabins were tied beneath their bodies. Flapping their wings, they glided over Mei City, their bodies diving. Countless gene soldiers immediately fell from the metal cabins. By the time they flew up and gradually moved away, two thousand self-destruct soldiers had occupied the sky above Mei City.

They fell into the parasite swarms like aerial bombs, one after another.

The dull explosions were far less imposing than the magic crystal cannons and grenade rocket launchers, but the parasite swarms were still being wiped out in large patches. These self-destruct gene soldiers were all of the complete self-destruct type. Because combat was unnecessary, the explosive power had been infinitely increased by Liu Zhenghong for this battle. The damage they caused was far beyond comparable to self-destructing soldiers from any previous period.
The damage they caused was even comparable to the initial volleys of the magic crystal cannons.

Every evolved who had entered Mei City almost felt the pressure suddenly lessen at this moment.

Up to now, only about ten minutes had passed since the battle began. Yet, even so, the evolved who first stepped into the city were all feeling very uncomfortable.

They faced immense pressure.

Mei City was occupied by parasites, so naturally, no defensive facilities like city walls were built. Previously, many evolved thought that a small, almost open city, even with millions of enemies inside, would be instantly annihilated under the attack of equally numbered millions of evolved? After all, standing behind them was the invincible, now truly the regional hegemon of the country, Cloud Peak Villa.

But when they truly made contact with these parasites, they discovered that these lifeforms without magic crystals were far stronger than they had anticipated.

Every minute and every second, evolved were dying. Originally, for them who had lived in the post-apocalyptic world for over eight years, life was something they were prepared to abandon at any time. But when death came too quickly and too numerously, fear would still arise.

It was these subsequent attacks from Cloud Peak, from magic crystal cannons to rocket launchers, from electric nets to self-destruct gene soldiers, that provided these soldiers with the courage to continue fighting.

It wasnʼt that their fighting spirit was much worse compared to Cloud Peak Villa, but rather they were somewhat unaccustomed to the intensity of this kind of war.

And Cloud Peak, in several offensive and defensive battles as well as dimensional battles, had experienced similar scenes.

This was the role of experience.

If not for Cloud Peakʼs several attacks, helping them through the most difficult initial stage, these evolved might have collapsed on their own first.

In the post-apocalyptic era, although combat had departed from the scope of the previous peaceful period, the phenomenon of troops collapsing like a landslide still existed. Once these hired evolved collapsed first, Cloud Peak itself couldnʼt fight this war either.

In ten minutes, casualties on both sides might have exceeded hundreds of thousands. Both sides were adapting to this intense battle. Fortunately, Cloud Peak was the side that adapted first because they held the initiative.

”V3-type grenade rocket launchers, another ten volleys!”

For some reason, Xia Leiʼs voice sounded anxious.

Countless lines of fire streaked across the sky, falling into the parasite swarms.

”Analysis done?!”

Xia Lei turned around. Behind her was Cloud Peakʼs staff department.

”The initial displayed parasite count was one point seven million. After the battle began, newly appeared count was two point eight million. Up to now, at least one million have not shown themselves!”

”Types!”

”Green-skinned demon monster count approximately two point two million. The remaining ones not showing... are basically them.”

Xia Lei turned back, looking at Mei City with blood flowers blooming everywhere, and slightly closed her eyes.

”Still canʼt force out all of you?” The Black-hearted Queen muttered softly, and then the previous worry and hesitation disappeared.

”Magic crystal cannons cease fire. Air force sorties immediately rush to the city center and destroy all buildings along the way. Battle Rat Legion and Nine Treasures, also appear directly from the center and attack towards the southeast! Yangos, you provide cover for them in the sky!”

”Red Hair! You and the Undead Dragonfish enter the battlefield and clear the enemies in your direction. Let the Talking Lady lead the zombie horde to cut in from the northwest.”

”Li Daqian! War Beast Legion, attack. Make the other teams in front of you give way, but do not advance too deeply. Control speed and formation. I will have you turn southeast at the appropriate time.”

”Little Tiger, your cavalry unit also move towards the southeast now. Once the Battle Rat Legion, Nine Treasures, and the air force encounter obstacles, you lead people to charge in and support them. If they are proceeding smoothly, you charge in from the gap they opened, turn towards the direction of the War Beast Legion, and rendezvous with them!”

A series of commands was issued. Some teams that had been behind the battle formations until now moved. The moment they received the orders, they were swept into the vortex of war.

Xia Lei looked at the battlefield and murmured, ”If you still donʼt appear, then Iʼll have to exterminate this million parasites on the periphery...”

Deacon Tong and Deacon Water stood on a hilltop, watching the battlefield not far away.

”Without seeing this, one cannot understand how powerful Cloud Peak is.” Deacon Water sighed with emotion. After such intense attacks just now, Deacon Water didnʼt think any faction in this world could withstand it.

”Yes, most of the region, yet it couldnʼt force out Cloud Peakʼs war potential. Instead, some of it is revealed here. But, this is still not all.”

Deacon Tong sighed, a sigh of helplessness and admiration.

Her own team, the teams that defected to the Cannibal Chain, still hadnʼt moved. Xia Leiʼs own team and Mo Yeʼs team hadnʼt moved yet. The even more terrifying Female Guard also hadnʼt moved!

And the top-tier lifeforms, only half had been deployed so far!
