Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2051: Fighting a level above (2)

When the Assault Camp arrived at the training ground, these high-ranking Su Clan members also didnʼt know what Ye Zhongming was up to.

They might not be very good at one-on-one combat; opponents slightly weaker than them could make them flustered, let alone opponents of the same level.

But after all, their Furelai was evident here, and their discerning eyes were also present.

With just one glance, they could see the strength levels of these Star-Eye Clan members.

Apart from those few Gold Mask warriors, the highest strength among the rest was just over ten thousand Furelai. What could people like this do here?

All eyes focused on Ye Zhongming. The Cloud Peak King stepped forward and said to the Su Clanʼs high-ranking members, ”I can honestly say that the current Star-Eye Clan is not the Star-Eye Clan everyone thinks it is. It is not about to perish, but has immense potential. You might wonder, if it has such potential, how could it have come to this state? But I think, as high-ranking members of the Su Clan, holding unimaginable power, you should know that many times, many things are not as simple as they appear on the surface, not black-and-white or right-and-wrong; many external factors also influence them.”

This is actually true everywhere; success or failure isnʼt always just about capability.

”What I need is time; what the Star-Eye Clan needs is time.” Ye Zhongming was no longer as sharp and confrontational as he was in the room towards Kelan Su and others. He spoke with utmost seriousness. He knew that cooperation with the Su Clan would be a process of seeking common ground while preserving differences. Both sides were in a cooperative relationship, not an antagonistic one, even towards that first heirʼs faction, who would certainly try to pull them down in the future; for now, it was the same.

The benefits Ye Zhongming could give to the Su Clan, those people were also bound to get a share... and perhaps even more.

”As long as there is time, the Star-Eye Clan and I will prove that we are a reliable and powerful partner.” Ye Zhongming said, then sighed before continuing, ”Saying this, you definitely wonʼt believe me. Then Iʼll first prove part of it to you.”
After speaking, he pointed at the hundred-member Bronze Assault Team standing neatly there.

”They are people I selected and trained using a brand-new method. Their average Furelai is around 6,000, with the highest at around 10,000. Since you want to see the Star-Eye Clanʼs potential, they can demonstrate it well for you. Please send warriors with an average Furelai of around twelve thousand, the highest around twenty thousand, in the same quantity, to fight against them. Then you will know.”

Strength twice as high?

The Su Clan members looked at Ye Zhongming and didnʼt immediately show extreme disbelief, but they certainly had doubts.

An average of six thousand Furelai versus an average of twelve thousand Furelai—the gap was as large as between the Bronze Camp and the Silver Camp, or between the Silver Camp and the Gold Camp. Fighting each other would basically be a crushing situation.

Although Furelai didnʼt entirely represent actual combat power, it was at least part of combat power and its foundation. When the difference was too great, it became insurmountable.

For example, although Su Clan members werenʼt good at encounter battles, that referred to situations at the same level or where Furelai differences werenʼt too large. If a Su Clan member with fifty thousand Furelai fought someone also with fifty thousand or forty thousand, they might lose. But if it were someone with only ten or twenty thousand Furelai, the Su Clan member, relying on the comprehensive physical advantages accumulated from Furelai, could still fight and win.

Su Clan members also had various equipment, weapons, and simple combat skills. Jie Su had already let people see in the Novice battlefield.

If not for Ye Zhongmingʼs earlier matters and words as a base, making such a request rashly might still be considered arrogant and conceited by the Su Clan.

Yaohan Su remained silent. This was the attitude a qualified clan leader should have. At this time, he still had to let the other two factions express their stance. This way, once Ye Zhongmingʼs hundred-member Assault Team could really win, then they could no longer say anything. The people to fight had to be from those two factions, allowing the clan leaderʼs faction to avoid suspicion and to convince them.

However, there was also a risk in this. Who knew if these people would cause trouble during the fight? But things had reached this point; it could only be so.

Yaohan Su kept his head low and didnʼt indicate anything, but Cheng Su, Huo Zhi, Zhou Su, and others were more direct, all looking at the other two factions.

The two factions also had no choice. Could they also imitate Yaohan Su by remaining silent? Then later, the Star-Eye Clan youngster would say the Su Clan didnʼt dare accept the challenge, and Yaohan Su would directly send his people to fight. If they lost then, then the other two factions couldnʼt say anything; who told them not to take the initiative?

The leader of Kelan Suʼs faction stepped forward, said, ”Weʼll do it,” then had Kelan Su personally go back to select people.

After about ten minutes or so, a team of a hundred Su Clan warriors arrived here.

Huo Zhi, who was very familiar with the various factions in the clan, took one look and felt his heart sink.

Kelan Suʼs faction was truly determined to sabotage this cooperation.

The people they called were all, without exception, traditional Su Clan members; they were all those with combat talent. Such people werenʼt numerous in the entire Su Clan, but because of their large population base, there were about two hundred thousand of them. These people were also the Su Clanʼs reliance outside Su City.

As for the direct lineage members of the three factions, even fewer had talent in this aspect; altogether, there were less than ten thousand, most of whom were in command outside. Those remaining in the clan could almost be counted.

The people Kelan Su called—Huo Zhi could tell at a glance what intentions he had, but he couldnʼt say anything because he had seized a loophole in what Ye Zhongming said earlier: ʼaverage twelve thousand Furelai.ʼ

The strategy of this first heir was: among the hundred people called, about fifty were youths with only around three thousand Furelai. Even though they also had combat talent, they were just beginning training. The remaining nearly half, however, were people with Furelai around twenty thousand or even exceeding twenty thousand!

On the Star-Eye Clan side, there was only one person who had just passed ten thousand Furelai. On this side, about 50 people reached 20,000. How could they fight this?

The leader saw the people Kelan Su selected and smiled with satisfaction, looking somewhat smug when glancing at Ye Zhongming and even Yaohan Su.

He knew the people the Star-Eye Clan selected must have something remarkable, but he didnʼt think they could withstand the attacks of another fifty warriors with Furelai nearly three times theirs under the harassment of fifty ordinary warriors.

Yaohan Su sighed inwardly. He knew he had to step in now; otherwise, this battle didnʼt need to be fought.

Who would have thought that before he could act, Ye Zhongming, as if utterly unconcerned, waved his hand and said, ”Then letʼs begin.”
