Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2018: Replenishment advantage

In the first confrontation, the First Thousand-person Team lost over 200 people. In the second, the Second Thousand-person Teamʼs losses were around four hundred. Everyone saw the battle situation clearly.

The third match was very enjoyable to watch. Although in the eyes of many highly skilled individuals, this kind of confrontation was nothing special, one could see the embodiment of almost all the Star-Eye Clanʼs abilities within it.

But the clearer they saw, the more doubts arose in their hearts.

This result was a bit off.

On average, the winning side in the first two matches, which annihilated their opponents, lost around 300 people. Yet in this battle that lasted so long, the victorious Third Thousand-person Team actually only had a reduction of one hundred and eighty-two personnel!

This simply did not make sense!

No one in the scene was causing an uproar or the like; it was just that their gazes held doubt, anger, and also confusion.

This was just an internal team assessment. It only seemed important because everyone paid attention, and even the clan leaders came, but its essence remained unchanged.

To cheat for such an internal Bronze Camp assessment—what exactly was this Order Leader aiming for? Just to let his confidant take first place?

This was too brazen and treated others as fools too much, right?
Precisely because it defied common sense, people felt something was amiss. Someone who could seize first place among Novices shouldnʼt be so foolish, should they?

The high-ranking officials had already seen more. Coupled with Ye Zhongmingʼs previous explanations, they realized with a slight thought. But in their view, even with those things, the Third Thousand-person Teamʼs improvement in such a short time was limited. It was certain they would lose several hundred people after victory, as anticipated; how could it be so few?

Ye Zhongming did not explain but directly announced the release of data.

This data referred to the information about each teamʼs various conditions registered with the terminal before the battle began, such as Furelai level, physical condition, equipment situation, logistical reserves, etc.

Strictly speaking, this data belonged to the secret of each team.

But to dispel everyoneʼs doubts, Ye Zhongming chose to make it public.

When the data on the light screen was listed one by one, the scene erupted in an uproar.

”Although I donʼt know the First Thousand-person Teamʼs average Furelai, I imagine it should be similar to this Third Thousand-person Teamʼs, right?” Leader Eye suddenly said.

”According to the last statistical value, it should be very close. But this is the Third Thousand-person Teamʼs real-time value, while the First Thousand-person Teamʼs real-time value should still be a bit higher than theirs,” Ye Zhongming replied.

White Robe looked at the light screen and let out an exaggerated ”Wow.” ”Old Ye, you are a bit too good to your subordinates. Look at the Third Thousand-person Teamʼs supplies: from pre-battle consumable enhancement drugs, to on-the-spot injury healing medicines, to post-battle recovery drugs, they have almost everything. And the grade isnʼt low. If Iʼm not mistaken, some are from the Changxu Water Race.”

Ye Zhongming nodded.

This time, to help Jie Kui achieve good results, he gave this confidant many good things; these drugs were among them.

Because of the special nature of the fully realistic simulated battlefield, as many factors as possible were calculated before the battle began. When the Third Thousand-person Team entered the battlefield, they were deemed to have taken the enhancement drugs, raising their overall level a notch. During combat, once injured, they would immediately ʼuseʼ medicines to heal. After the battle ended, they would similarly use recovery drugs to recuperate quickly.

There was also a small detail everyone overlooked: the Third Thousand-person Team eliminated many people during the first two charges. In the subsequent encirclement, they held a numerical advantage. In combat, the injured would retreat to ʼtake medicineʼ and heal. The mapʼs special nature gave them enough time to recover, so the Fourth Thousand-person Team always faced enemies full of vigor.

Of course, this was also thanks to the ʼsimulatedʼ combat, so the Third Thousand-person Team dared to take all sorts of good medicines without any fear of waste. In real combat, this certainly wouldnʼt be possible.

With the data support, everyone realized that they werenʼt cheating but had genuinely built it up with medicine.

Instantly, everyoneʼs earlier suspicion and anger turned into envy.

It was genuine envy because whichever team had such logistical support could preserve many lives during battle.

The Fourth Thousand-person Team warriors, who had been waiting for the final result, hoping for a reversal, now gave up hope and returned dejectedly to their positions.

Originally, they also felt somewhat uncomfortable and angry. As fellow Bronze Camp warriors, why did they have so many supplies?

But upon second thought, they let it go.

Why should they give them to you? Because he is the Bronze Order Leader? You remember heʼs the Bronze Order Leader now; what were you doing before?

Since you treated him with indifference, why should he give you these things?

In many peopleʼs hearts, they were already leaning towards Ye Zhongming. Todayʼs performance and treatment of Jie Kuiʼs Thousand-person Team further accelerated and amplified the speed and degree of this tilt.

The next two battles began one after another. When all was concluded, the top five were determined: the First, Second, Third, Fifth, and Sixth Thousand-person Teams.

In terms of results, Jie Kuiʼs Third Thousand-person Team ranked first with losses of only a little over a hundred people, the fewest. The First Thousand-person Team ranked second. Thus, the Third Thousand-person Team directly got a bye into the top three. The remaining four teams drew lots again.

The First Thousand-person Team faced the Sixth Thousand-person Team; the Second and Fifth Thousand-person Teams competed for one spot.

The confrontation results werenʼt surprising. The First and Second Thousand-person Teams won. Regarding losses, the First Thousand-person Team was lucky: their opponent had previously won a Pyrrhic victory, with only three hundred personnel left. They ended the battle with only a few dozen losses. The Second Thousand-person Teamʼs fight was a bit tough; after victory, their numbers had sharply decreased to only a little over two hundred.

After the top three were determined, the Second Thousand-person Team directly conceded. With their remaining few people, whether facing the Third Thousand-person Team with over eight hundred left or the First Thousand-person Team with nearly seven hundred, they had no chance of winning.

Thus, the battle for first place would be between the First and Third Thousand-person Teams.

Map: ʼFoggy Swamp.ʼ Both sides began a battle employing numerous tactics. When one side was completely annihilated, the battle ended. Although the First Thousand-person Team faced a strong challenge, they still had the last laugh, securing the championship with a remaining force of one hundred and fifty-two.

However, there was one detail: Jie Kuiʼs team did not use their remaining various drugs this time; they competed with the First Team purely with hard strength.

For the collective battle awards ceremony, Ye Zhongming directly handed it over to the two clan leaders. But just after the awards ended, the two clan leaders were called away, seemingly in a bit of a hurry.

This gave Ye Zhongming a sense of foreboding.
