Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2037: Appraisal

In a room that was not particularly luxurious, Yaohan Su sat behind a desk, constantly operating something on a light screen. Moments later, a person walked in.

”Clan Leader.”

Yaohan Su didnʼt look up either, just uttered an ʼhmmʼ and asked, ”How is it?”

”Jie Su is cultivating.”

”Hmm.”

”Ye Zhongming is shopping.”

”Hmm.”

After this brief dialogue, the person who entered stopped.

Yaohan Su looked up for the first time, his gaze stern.

”Elder Afesu took Kelan Su to the First Auxiliary City to attend the birthday banquet of Princess Feiersita.”
Yaohan Su leaned back, continuing to stare at the light screen, but without any movement.

That person stood for a while, confirming the Clan Leader had no further instructions, then quietly retreated, standing in the corridor after closing the door.

”I just showed a little regard for Jie Su, and you all canʼt sit still already?”

The Su Raceʼs Clan Leader felt somewhat dejected at this moment, his body already sunk into the chair, muttering in a voice filled with endless weariness.

”I still have to lead the Su Race for many years. What does it mean to start courting affiliated races now? Do you really think Iʼm old?”

After saying this, Yaohan Suʼs body remained unmoving in the chair, but his eyes opened, revealing an expression of profound meaning.

”Shortsighted people just lack self-awareness.”

………………………………

”Order Leader, this wonʼt do!”

The four Golden Mask Warriors kept refusing, but how could they prevail against Ye Zhongming?

”Youʼve been protecting me at risk all along. Shouldnʼt I show my gratitude?”

Ye Zhongming frowned, displeased.

”Protecting you is our duty, not for these pieces of equipment. We know the Bronze Camp is recovering from devastation now; these should be left for the brothers in the Bronze Camp. Moreover, weʼve just been following you, doing nothing.”

The Golden Mask Warriors declined again.

”Take them if I tell you to. If you donʼt, Iʼll send you away.” In the end, Ye Zhongming had no choice but to use his position to pressure them, ultimately forcing the four Golden Mask Warriors to accept the equipment.

Ye Zhongming strolled down Equipment Street, buying suitable equipment whenever he saw it. In no time, he bought twenty-four pieces.

Although the Taros Red Dwarves didnʼt make these pieces of equipment, they were definitely works of master artisans, not inferior to Red Condensation-grade. Each pieceʼs price wasnʼt low either, ranging from 30,000 to 50,000.

Who would have thought that the equipment Ye Zhongming spent nearly a million Moonspan Gold on was all for these Golden Mask Warriors protecting him?

Eight people in total: four here and four more in the guest house. Each got three pieces.

Those who didnʼt understand would secretly click their tongues, thinking Ye Zhongming really had money with nowhere to spend. But the people around him wouldnʼt think that.

They knew about the assassination incident in Starshine City. In that incident, without the sacrifice of several Golden Mask Warriors, Ye Zhongming would probably be dead.

This was another way to repay kindness.

These Golden Mask Warriors should have been the most talented group in the entire Star-Eye Clan. But because they were the clanʼs main combat force, having to carry out various necessary and unnecessary missions, their casualty rate was extremely high. Yet no one ever complained or expressed dissatisfaction; they still silently gave.

After the last attack, Ye Zhongming truly witnessed the precious qualities in these people. They deserved anyoneʼs respect. For such people, Ye Zhongming never hesitated to give.

These pieces of equipment might allow these people to avoid a fatal attack on a future mission; that would be enough.

The already severely weakened Star-Eye Clan needed such warriors to survive.

Jie Suʼs assistant watched with envy. Being able to spend huge sums on equipment for his subordinates was already a strong sign of being a good leader, especially since these people didnʼt seem to be his direct subordinates.

However, his envy lasted only a second before Ye Zhongming pushed a piece of equipment in front of him.

Although only one piece and its grade were slightly lower than those of the Golden Mask Warriors, this assistant was still immensely grateful and served Ye Zhongming even more diligently.

After buying equipment for the eight Golden Mask Warriors, Ye Zhongming continued shopping. This time, he bought equipment entirely for himself. The equipment he selected ranged from a few hundred Moonspan Gold to a hundred thousand Moonspan Gold. All these pieces of equipment had one characteristic: they had techniques or skills that Ye Zhongming was interested in and hadnʼt mastered. His purpose in buying them was to study and improve his own crafting level.

After spending less than another five hundred thousand Moonspan Gold, Ye Zhongming reluctantly went to the shop specializing in Taros Red Dwarvesʼ equipment.

From the materials street to the combat beasts street to the equipment street, Ye Zhongming and his group had been shopping for several hours. News of the big spender had spread throughout the entire commercial center. Everyone knew there was an outsider spending money lavishly and shopping crazily. Both large merchants and small shops sent people to keep an eye.

This was a God of Wealth. If he could really come to a shop and spend, for many not-so-large-scale merchants, it could equal dozens of daysʼ income.

So when Ye Zhongming and the others entered this shop specializing in Taros Red Dwarvesʼ equipment, the person in charge had already come out to greet them.

This lord bought equipment in batches of 10. If he bought those pieces made by other artisans, how could he let go of these fine pieces made by the Taros Red Dwarves? So he was extremely enthusiastic.

Ye Zhongming asked him to lead the way to see the goods. He directly took Ye Zhongming to the display area in the backyard, not letting Ye Zhongming select from the light screen but taking him to see the actual items.

Ye Zhongming looked around and thought that even though the Su Race ranked last among the super major races, their strength was still incomparable to other races.

Take the equipment he saw now, for example. Ke Steel Grade equipment was neatly arranged together, densely packed. Just within sight, there were thousands of pieces. In places not visible, probably several times more.

As for Common-grade equipment, Ye Zhongming saw seven exits on the north side of the display area, labeled Common One to Common Seven, likely where Common-grade equipment was stored—as many as seven warehouses!

Red Condensation-grade was more precious and the main item for single-piece sales, placed in the core area of the display area. A casual count showed about 500 pieces.

Ye Zhongming walked and looked. Some were indeed quite good; the materials and techniques used were very enlightening for him.

Seeing Ye Zhongming hadnʼt spoken all along and looked at the Red Condensation-grade equipment very quickly, the person in charge here thought this big spender already looked down on this grade. So he smiled and said, ”What a coincidence, there happens to be a small appraisal meeting today. If you have time, why not take a look? There are some good things inside; they should catch your eye.”
