Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2032: Su City

The Su Race occupied an entire city, called Su City.

Because of their unique racial characteristics, this city naturally had all kinds of arrays.

Rumors outside said that within Su City, there were as many as 220,000 defensive arrays, large and small, and 170,000 offensive arrays. This didnʼt even include those that Su Race members could set up anytime, anywhere, once war broke out.

Among these arrays, half were concentrated at the city walls, forming an integrated defensive system combining offense and defense, heaven and earth.

The other half was distributed throughout the city. At the core of Su Tower, where the Clan Leader, the ancestral shrine, and direct descendants resided, there were about a quarter of the total arrays.

These arrays alone were enough to make any race in the universe dare not act rashly.

Even more terrifying was the rumor that once the breach rate of these arrays exceeded 50%, a super array hidden in the city—ʼAscensionʼ—would activate. That was the ultimate secret of the Su Race and the foundation of their standing in the universe.

Among the Reina Star people, there was a recognized tactical master who, after visiting Su City, said, ”To breach this city would require the sacrifice of roughly ten million excellent warriors of the cosmic races. To occupy this city would require the sacrifice of thirty million excellent warriors. If you donʼt want to lose so many, then at least ten super experts need to die to reduce the casualty rate by half.”

No one doubted this tactical masterʼs words. So, while some might not take the Su Race seriously outside, they absolutely dared not set their sights on Su City.

Because even now, no race possessed thirty million excellent warriors!
What were excellent warriors? Those with Furelai exceeding twenty thousand.

Even if all the cosmic races united to attack here, the Su Race could make every participant feel fear, because this city could downgrade the race level of those attacking it!

From super major race to major race, from major race to medium race, from medium race to... extinction.

Yes, in a war of that scale, once the medium and lower races participated, extinction was inevitable.

In fact, the Su Raceʼs development had stagnated many years ago. Their character and approach to matters meant they didnʼt engage in excessive commercial activity or plunder. They were actually slowly regressing.

But even so, the two camps led by super major races hadnʼt truly done anything to the Su Race. Even the races under the Su Raceʼs protection, though living average lives, didnʼt have major problems.

All this, it must be said, was half due to the credit of this city.

This city, which gathered the efforts of countless generations of Su Race people, had become the benchmark and symbol of the race.

Of course, to maintain this cityʼs status and operation, the Su Race paid an enormous price every year, even every day.

These hundreds of thousands of arrays naturally werenʼt all active all the time, but just maintaining the most basic defensive arrays consumed a huge amount of Moonspan Gold every moment.

Why did the Su Race, with such advantages, still not build a second Su City? It was because the consumption was too much for them to bear.

Maintaining this one city already puts immense pressure on them.

Ye Zhongming knew before coming that this city had never been attacked.

Many years have passed since the Survivor Fortress was built until now. During that time, many major events and great chaos occurred, even wars, affecting all fortresses.

But no one had ever dared to provoke Su City.

Ye Zhongming looked at the city rushing towards them below and suddenly had an absurd thought.

All races feared the might of Su Cityʼs arrays and never dared to move a single soldier against it. But if this city ever really fell into war, could it... Withstand the test?

Also, that Reina Star tactical master said how many people were needed to breach Su City and how many to occupy it, but he didnʼt say how many were needed to destroy it...

Sometimes, destroying something was easier than possessing it...

The transport vehicle landed. Ye Zhongming, leading the Bronze Assault Camp, stepped onto the ground of Su City. Perhaps because arrays needed to be arranged, the entire cityʼs ground was metallic. Even decorative plants and flowers were basically planted in soil within metallic containers.

Although the Su Race was weaker compared to other super major races, they were still members of the supermajor race tier. They had a large population, many industries were developed, and this super city was extremely prosperous. The moment they got out of the vehicle, many Su Race people around noticed these outsiders.

Although Jie Su had spread some information about the Star-Eye Clan, that was among middle and higher-level people. Ordinary citizens still couldnʼt know, so they were very curious about the arrival of the Star-Eye Clan members, who didnʼt belong to the Su Race camp.

Soon, someone recognized Jie Su, and then recognized the Novice first-place winner, Ye Zhongming, who had fought alongside Jie Su.

A team of Su Race guards came to inspect. While verifying identities, they also had to check the equipment they were carrying and such. Because of Jie Suʼs guarantee, it wasnʼt extremely strict, but it still took some time.

”First, go stay at the guest house next to Su Tower. You rest first.”

Jie Su already knew the reason for Ye Zhongmingʼs injury. While admiring him, he also blamed his recklessness. Now, with Ye Zhongming still severely injured, it would cast a shadow over the negotiations with the Su Race.

However, seeing Ye Zhongming wasnʼt particularly worried, Jie Su didnʼt press the issue.

”Regarding the attack on us last time, the clan used its power to investigate, but the information obtained isnʼt much. Iʼll send it to you later for you to look at.”

After settling Ye Zhongming in the room to rest, Jie Su said to him, ”Actually, being able to make survivors of many already extinct races serve them, even having a nearly perfect intelligence network in Star-Scape City—only those super major races can do that. Just a random guess would be pretty close.”

The two chatted a bit more, and then Jie Su left.

Ye Zhongming knew that all he could do now was wait and see when the Su Raceʼs high-levels would summon him.

Just as Ye Zhongming and the Star-Eye Clan arrived, in a room, a light screen was playing footage of them entering Su City.

A person pressed the light screen, and the image paused, right at the moment Jie Su and Ye Zhongming got into the vehicle together.

”Jie Su is the main person pushing this matter. He has become much more active since the Novice battlefield.” The speaker was already somewhat aged, his voice steady and devoid of emotion.

”He hid his strength before. His mastery of the Silk Sea Light Array is already quite high. The clan has already allowed him to start learning the ʼFallen Xiao Array,ʼ and the Clan Leader also taught him the Following Array.”

The old manʼs words reached here, and his gaze fell on a young man to the side.

”As the first-rank successor, you have the responsibility to suppress everyone who could potentially threaten you, even if they only show the slightest hint. This Jie Su is the same. Do you understand, Kelan Su?”
