Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2036: Equipment street

The female attendantʼs eyes lit up.

Although Su City was the trade center of the entire Su Race faction, and the combat beast business had high costs and high entry barriers—allowing no other races besides the Su Race to enter, making it a highly profitable monopoly market—not all combat beast shops made money, and not all combat beasts sold well.

First, competition was fierce. There were nearly a thousand shops selling combat beasts in Su City, constantly competing on quality, price, service, promotions, after-sales, and even shop decoration. Making a sale required immense effort and hard work.

Among these, some shops were owned by the Su Raceʼs direct line, which enjoyed natural advantages. Many affiliated races, when buying combat beasts, would go to such shops and not choose others. Unfortunately, ʼGubanʼ wasnʼt such a merchant and couldnʼt obtain such orders.

Second, the combat beasts of the Traitor Dragon Race didnʼt sell well. These creatures had powerful combat strength, but precisely because of that, once they lost control—even if ultimately restrained—they often caused significant losses, which was a headache.

Moreover, these creatures were difficult to raise, with high food and environmental demands. Without incurring losses, the costs in the shopʼs breeding farm naturally had to be passed on to buyers. For example, the one Ye Zhongming fancied had lived in Gubanʼs breeding farm for seven years. Even if they wanted to sell it quickly and didnʼt dare ask for a high price, they couldnʼt offer too big a discount. The price of six hundred thousand Moonspan Gold was already quite cheap. Even so, if they hadnʼt met Ye Zhongming today, who knew when it would sell? This female attendant made this sale and received a substantial reward.

The female attendant was very happy and continued telling Ye Zhongming everything she knew about this Traitor Dragon.

”This Traitor Dragon is a rare physical enhancement type. Although itʼs not the most common elemental type among Traitor Dragons, its rarity makes its strength very powerful. It has high resistance to all elemental attributes. Agility and strength are its trademarks. Its teeth and claws are very sharp, its scales offer strong defense, and its recovery ability is also excellent. It can be said that at its level, it rarely has opponents.”

The female attendant almost became eloquent. After a slight pause, she continued, ”Its biggest advantage is its potential. You know, itʼs not even 20 years old, still in its juvenile stage, yet itʼs already reached level 9. Last yearʼs Furelai test already exceeded 5,000; this year, it will definitely be higher. Its future development will be very good. If you can truly tame it, it will undoubtedly become a powerful asset for you.”

Ye Zhongming smiled. Just now, she said it was difficult to raise; now she said it was highly powerful. The more powerful, the harder to tame, right?
But Ye Zhongming didnʼt mind this.

Yangos was so unruly, yet he and Cloud Peak managed to suppress it until it was obedient. Even if this oneʼs temperament was bad, just discipline it properly.

While talking, He and Qizhen also finished selecting their combat beasts.

Ye Zhongming looked; both women chose combat beasts costing fifty thousand Moonspan Gold. Ye Zhongming shook his head. After carefully examining the types and data of the two womenʼs chosen combat beasts, he started selecting anew. Soon, he picked two other combat beasts.

The prices: Heʼs cost two hundred twenty thousand; Qizhenʼs cost two hundred fifty thousand.

The two women were both amused and annoyed, but they were touched in their hearts.

The combat beasts Ye Zhongming selected were all based on their previous choices—essentially enhanced versions of the previous ones—so the prices were naturally much higher.

For He, he chose a flying combat beast called ʼPear Wind Birdʼ. It could apply ʼWind Powerʼ to its master during battle, increasing agility, and also possessed an attack ability, ʼHurricane Peckʼ, to attack enemies when needed.

When an adult, its body can enlarge for a short time, allowing the master to ride it briefly. While enlarged, it could also spew dazzling light to heal the masterʼs injuries.

Qizhenʼs chosen combat beast was purely support: a ʼAssist-Carrying Honorableʼ. This combat beast was very docile; even if abused or killed by its master, it wouldnʼt resist. It had only one ability: it could continuously provide its own energy for the master to use when needed.

Later, research found that the Assist-Carrying Honorableʼs energy didnʼt help much in combat because the total amount wasnʼt large. But for manufacturing jobs, it served as a supplement, even improving the success rate of refining.

This discovery suddenly turned the Assist-Carrying Honorable from something mediocre to highly sought-after, and its price naturally rose.

However, the additional value of this life form was indeed worth that much money.

The two thanked him. Ye Zhongming paid. The female attendant gave Ye Zhongming a chip card and told him to place it on his terminal; it would make him a VIP customer of Guban.

In just this short while, Ye Zhongming spent over a million Moonspan Gold here and told them to contact him if they had more Traitor Dragon combat beasts for sale. Of course, the contact information left was that of Jie Suʼs assistant. Such a customer not being a VIP would be strange.

After arranging the time and place to collect the combat beasts, the group left and soon arrived at the commercial street selling equipment. This place was clearly more prosperous than the previous street, with more crowds. Shops were lined up one after another, and categorization was very clear, such as those specializing in weapons, those specializing in armor, those specializing in accessories, etc.

Naturally, there were also comprehensive shops. These were undoubtedly the truly big merchants, with storefront areas several times, even over ten times, larger than others.

Among them, Ye Zhongming also discovered shops specializing in equipment made by the Taros Red Dwarves, which shocked him.

”The Taros Red Dwarves are a neutral race. How to put it? Their relationship with our Su Race is relatively good, so we have more opportunities to obtain their equipment. Every year, the clan purchases a fixed batch of equipment. You also know, our demand for equipment isnʼt large on one hand, and on the other, we only need protective and enhancement categories. So the excess is sold here. Of course, itʼs not that there is no defensive equipment here; there are just fewer.”

The assistant explained understandingly.

Ye Zhongming nodded. The Taros Red Dwarvesʼ strength came primarily from their combat power and equipment-making ability, but also from their wealth. Their Moonspan Gold mostly came from equipment sales, which naturally required sales channels. The Su Race was undoubtedly the best major client. After all, selling equipment here, the Taros Red Dwarves didnʼt have to worry about backlash one day. If they sold large quantities to the Reina Star people or the Huoʼer Star people, that might not be certain.

Ye Zhongming looked outside but didnʼt enter for now, going to other shops instead.

He planned to save this for last. Perhaps there might be some unexpected delight.
