Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

The missed dunk was really just an accident.

After all, Li Younan only had outstanding physical fitness; his system hadn’t actually increased his basketball skills.

Those skills did enhance his coordination, core strength, agility, and even reaction speed, but the essence of ball-handling skill is muscle memory built up day after day through training, and the system hadn’t granted him that muscle memory.

Li Younan could dunk before, but he had never tried this kind of between-the-legs dunk.

People who dunk a lot know that dunking looks hard, and in reality it’s anything but simple.

If someone has never dunked before, even with enough vertical, getting the ball cleanly into the hoop is not easy; if the angle is off, it’s very easy to send the ball flying.

Landing, standing under the rim, Li Younan stared up at the hoop, zoning out a little as his mind naturally started breaking down his takeoff motion and the angle of the dunk just now.

This kind of between-the-legs dunk is extremely difficult, but for Li Younan, mastering it definitely wouldn’t be that hard; this was just a first, impromptu attempt that didn’t end in perfect success, that’s all.

And right at that moment, the system chimed again: [Starlight Value +8][Current Starlight Value 10/5,000,000.]

A flicker of delight rose in Li Younan’s heart, and he turned to look at the two Black bros.

Sure enough, both of them were staring at him, dumbstruck. Then one of the Black bros couldn’t help letting his arms hang and started hopping over, yelling, ”Ah-woo—woo—” just like those Black players venting their emotions that Li Younan had seen in the movies.

”Hey, man, are you a pro? Or are you an NCAA player? You look like some guy who just graduated high school.”

Although Li Younan had been out of college for years, it’s hard to tell age from the appearance of Asians; in foreigners’ eyes he even looked like a high schooler.

Li Younan burst out laughing and said, ”Actually, I’m a travel blogger from China.”

”Oh my God, you’re an influencer? From China?”

The other Black bro asked, ”How many followers do you have?”

Li Younan shrugged. ”I haven’t kept an eye on the exact number for a long time. Around, like, ten-odd million, who knows. It’s not important.”

The two Black bros were shocked all over again.

You have to know, whether in China or in Western countries, becoming a super influencer with over ten million followers is extremely difficult.

But in terms of influence, Western influencers with over ten million followers absolutely eclipse those with ten million in China.

At that level, a super influencer is pretty much defining what’s trending; a single post can trigger imitation across the entire internet, and directly affect buying decisions.

Abroad there’s also a difference from China: political influence.

In Western countries, once you’re a ten-million-level influencer, you can basically say your social circle has undergone a qualitative change; you can stand shoulder to shoulder with traditional celebrities, entrepreneurs, and even politicians.

So if Li Younan really was a super influencer with over ten million followers, in the eyes of these two Black bros, it wouldn’t be much different from meeting a California congressman or some movie star.

In English, ”ten million” is expressed as ”ten million,” while ”ten thousand” is expressed as ”ten thousand.”

So one of the Black bros couldn’t help asking, ”You’re sure it’s ten million and not ten thousand? Can I see your profile page?”

Li Younan nodded, took out his phone, and showed him his video homepage.

He hadn’t checked his follower count in a long time; now his followers had already risen to more than sixteen million.

Seeing that number, the two Black bros’ expressions went completely blank.

And of course, this whole scene was being captured by the camera nearby.

Pointing toward the camera, Li Younan said, ”Actually, I’m filming a video right now. Do you mind if I post you guys on my page?”

”Oh my God, I definitely don’t mind. The two of us are gonna become influencers too, right? Hahahaha.”

By now, when they looked at Li Younan again, their expressions had turned downright respectful.

After all, they didn’t understand the difference in influence between a ten-million-level influencer in China and one in the Western world.

You have to know, in China, an influencer with over ten million followers can walk down the street and 99% of people won’t recognize him.

In Western countries, an influencer at that level already has a whole team serving him; his bodyguards alone are probably five or six big, tough guys shadowing him at all times.

Still, although Li Younan was a solid, real-deal influencer with over ten million followers, these two Black bros really had never heard of his name.

They chatted with him for a while longer, and when they found out that Li Younan wasn’t a basketball blogger but a travel blogger, they were shocked yet again.

”Hey, man, I’ve gotta follow you. I’m gonna watch every one of your videos.”

As they clicked through those unbelievable videos of his, from parkour to painting to skiing, then to later clips of speed-climbing and Alone in the Wilderness, the two Black bros kept letting out exclamations: ”Oh my God, he can do this!”

”Oh my God, he’s literally a universal guy, he can do anything!”

And during this time, Li Younan’s Starlight Value kept rising, though unfortunately it was only these two providing Starlight Value, so the prompts were just ”+1” and ”+2.”

He didn’t mind that at all; now that he knew how to increase Starlight Value, everything that came next suddenly seemed a lot simpler.
