Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Li Younan said, ”Thanks for the reminder.”

After completing the procedures, the staff gave him a car pickup slip, and another staff member led Li Younan to the outdoor parking lot.

Passing through the glass doors, he saw a seemingly endless row of parking spaces, but to his surprise, most of the cars were Japanese-made family cars like Toyota, Honda, and Chevrolet.

Weren’t Americans supposed to love large-engine muscle cars?

He recorded these observations on video and asked the staff nearby.

The staff laughed heartily and said, ”In fact, most of the time, we only drive pickup trucks on weekend outings.”

Soon, Li Younan found his own Cybertruck.

The vehicle was clean, fully charged, and after inspecting it thoroughly and confirming there were no scratches, he signed the confirmation slip.

With that, he could drive the car away.

He lightly tapped the uniquely designed pickup, noting the stainless steel exoskeleton body was incredibly solid; reportedly, it could withstand rifle shots.

He opened the door and examined the interior closely.

The interior was consistent with the Tesla Model series sold domestically, featuring a large central control screen integrating all functions with no physical buttons, extremely simple.

Sitting inside, looking around, he was quite satisfied with the trip so far; choosing this car as his ride around Los Angeles had clear advantages.

On one hand, charging stations were easy to find; on the other, Los Angeles was said to have frequent traffic jams, and electric cars were more energy-efficient in such conditions, with higher mileage fulfillment rates.

The version he chose was the all-wheel-drive model, the longest-range version among the three Cybertruck configurations, reaching around 550 kilometers.

Driving this Cybertruck, he officially hit the road in Los Angeles.

Just arriving in the United States, Li Younan felt very excited.

The road he was currently on was the main artery connecting the airport and the city center. With one hand on the steering wheel and the other resting on the window, vast plains stretched to his left. Occasionally, he saw low factory buildings, drought-resistant shrubs on the median strip, and sometimes billboards flashed by, predominantly movie previews, fast food ads, and political campaign promotions.

Soon, Li Younan saw the outline of the Lakers’ home arena, where he would watch the game the day after tomorrow.

Li Younan hadn’t yet decided on specific activities in Los Angeles; his current plan was to take it one step at a time, but his first goal was crystal clear — watching the game.

The game in two days was Lakers vs. Warriors.

Li Younan spent a fortune on tickets very close to the front.

His intention was to arrive at the arena slightly early, and if things went smoothly, he might even catch the players during their warm-up session.

Reportedly, there was a chance to get autographs from the stars at this time, with various interaction segments including fan engagements at halftime offering rich content.

Li Younan took out his phone and shot towards the arena, saying lightheartedly, ”My plan for the day after tomorrow while watching the game is to find ways to represent everyone in possibly interacting with those international stars and snapping some photos together. I hope old man LeBron, Doncic, Curry, and those NBA stars aren’t unsociable.”

...

Perhaps because the United States is so vast, there are the most checkpoints since leaving China.

Many small European countries might only have one or two checkpoints nationwide, while the United States boasts seven or eight.

In California, the checkpoint naturally unsurprisingly lies in Los Angeles.

Before arriving at the hotel, Li Younan received a checkpoint task.

[You have arrived at the globally famous City of Angels, where sunshine kisses the Pacific Ocean, waves and palm trees intertwine with Hollywood stardom, arena cheers, and diverse cultural fireworks. Los Angeles, this City of Angels, is both a dream destination and the ultimate epitome of vitality and freedom. You need to accumulate 5 million Starlight Value here to complete this checkpoint task]

[Current Starlight Value 0/5 million.]

Seeing this checkpoint task, Li Younan couldn’t help but curse: ”Damn.”

Unlike all previous checkpoint tasks encountered domestically, this one’s freedom level is extremely high, akin to ”Grand Theft Auto V.”

What the heck is this Starlight Value?

Li Younan guessed it might be akin to a popularity rating.

However, there was no immediate way to verify his suspicion.

Of course, for Li Younan, checkpoints were quite important, but more crucial was the journey itself; these two shouldn’t be confused.

So Li Younan quickly regained his composure, focusing all his attention on the travel experience itself.

Li Younan soon arrived at the hotel and checked in.

It only took a 20-minute drive from here to the Lakers’ home Staples Center.

For the entire day ahead, Li Younan planned not to go anywhere, as both meals and accommodations could be taken care of within this high-end hotel.

The hotel even had a basketball court, with some visiting teams choosing to stay here.

If lucky, he might even encounter players from visiting teams coming to compete.

Of course, staying here was a bit of a financial pain because it was his first time traveling to the United States; Li Younan still hoped for the best experience across various aspects.

After all, having flown from the other side of the world, even though he had extremely good sleep quality, he still needed to adjust to the time difference.
