Chaotic Sword God

“Aren’t you just asking the obvious?” Xing Caijian rolled her eyes at Jian Chen and stared at the formation before her. “Without the strength of a Fifth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt, it’ll be difficult to destroy this formation. Do you really think I can destroy this formation alone with my strength as a Ninth Heavenly Layer Immortal Emperor?”

Jian Chen did not say anything. He subconsciously looked at the ancient sword in her arms.

The ancient sword was wrapped in coarse cloth, hiding it away perfectly. All of its glow and pressure was contained. It did not give off any ebbs of energy. It seemed like a regular item.

However, Jian Chen knew that this ordinary-looking sword was Xing Caijian’s greatest trump card!

It was different from the twin swords. The twin swords were still in a feeble state, while Xing Caijian’s Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star was in peak condition!

“Senior Heavenly Star, I’ll have to trouble you,” Xing Caijian said to the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star. Her voice was no longer icy but filled with respect.

In the next moment, there was a crisp thrum. The resonance of a sword filled the surroundings. The Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star in Xing Caijian’s arms had already exited its sheath.

Immediately, an indescribable pressure radiated out. The pressure was not powerful. It was not the kind where it created an alarming disturbance, sweeping through the surroundings. Instead, it contained unparalleled dignity as if it looked down on the world, the laws of the world, and the three thousand ways that wove through the universe.

Jian Chen’s attention was drawn away by the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star. Although the scene when the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star emerged from its sheath conflicted with his imaginations slightly, he still did not dare to underestimate it.

He understood that if a sovereign god artifact in peak condition did not give off a terrifying pressure, it was simply because the sovereign god artifact intentionally avoided it.

After all, to a complete sovereign god artifact, the formation used to protect the medicinal garden was absolutely nothing.

As a matter of fact, it felt a little overkill to use this sovereign god artifact to destroy the formation.

Unfortunately, apart from using the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star, Xing Caijian had no other methods.

Suddenly, a dazzling streak of light shot out from the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star. It seemed to bypass the concept of distance, instantly landing on the protective formation around the medicinal garden.

Wherever the sword Qi passed by, Jian Chen could clearly sense unstable fluctuations in the laws.

Despite the startling power behind the sword Qi, the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star intentionally kept it contained, so it only affected a small range. It did not stir up the Skyscraping World.

Boom!

The sword Qi from the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star collided against the protective formation and produced a deep rumble. The protective formation around the medicinal garden tore apart easily like paper. The sword Qi pulverised all of the formation banners and precious resources for setting up the formation.

Even the heavenly resources growing inside were not spared. The precious God Tier heavenly resources were all annihilated as well.

By the time the sword Qi had dispersed, the vibrant medicinal garden from earlier had been razed to the ground.

The God Tier heavenly resources that were destroyed by the sword Qi turned into a ball of energy and returned to the world, merging back into the Skyscraping World.

Following the attack, the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star immediately stopped shining. It turned back into an ordinary sword that returned to Xing Caijian’s arms.

Looking at the annihilated medicinal garden, Jian Chen sighed inside. He felt pained.

That was several hundred God Tier heavenly resources, with plenty of mid grade God Tier heavenly resources among them. Just the amount of time to nurture them to such an extent was tremendous.

Yet, these precious heavenly resources had just been destroyed by the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star like that. That was virtually a waste.

Jian Chen rubbed his temples in a rather pained manner and said, “Fellow Xing Caijian, is this how you handle these medicinal gardens?”

“How else?” Xing Caijian looked at Jian Chen and said, “What, it hurts to watch?”

“Fair enough. Several hundred heavenly resources are indeed a sizable wealth to most cultivators, but to me, even thousands or tens of thousands of heavenly resources struggle to interest me, let alone a hundred. After all, our Heavenly Star Palace does not lack these heavenly resources at all.”

“Even if we do require them, we would never stoop to the level of stealing heavenly resources from lower organisations given our status.”

Xing Caijian paused and looked at the land. After a moment of silence, she slowly said, “There’s the most important reason as well. If these heavenly resources are destroyed, all of the essence they contain will return to this land. It’ll be able to replenish some of the energy in the Skyscraping World.”

“If I didn’t take part, were you prepared to destroy all of the medicinal gardens in the Skyscraping World like this?” Jian Chen asked.

“That’s right!” Xing Caijian said to Jian Chen, “Regardless of whether you decided to participate or not, I would have done this. Our Heavenly Star Palace is too proud to claim the resources of weaker organisations for ourselves, so I can only destroy them.”

“Fellow Xing Caijian, why don’t we discuss something? Leave all the medicinal gardens in the Skyscraping World to me to deal with, alright?” Jian Chen smiled at Xing Caijian.

“You’re the successor of the twin swords. Doing that would be beneath you.” Xing Caijian looked at Jian Chen in a strange manner. The successor of the twin swords before her was a little too miserly.

“In your eyes, the successor of the twin swords should be a lofty existence of various honours, but in reality, the successor of the twin swords spends all of his time worrying about how he can survive in the Immortals’ World and how he can increase his strength as quickly as possible to improve his ability to fend off threats.” Jian Chen smiled wryly.

When she heard that, Xing Caijian furrowed her brows. She considered it seriously for a while before saying, “You’re right. If only senior Samsara was in the Immortals’ World. If he were around, you’d be untouchable.”

“Yang Yutian, once we leave the Skyscraping World, come with me to the Heavenly Star Palace. You are the successor of the twin swords. Our Heavenly Star Palace will assist you,” Xing Caijian said seriously.

“We’ll see when the time comes…” Jian Chen was ambivalent. All he could think of right now were all the medicinal gardens in the Skyscraping World.

Although he would offend countless organisations as a result, it was far too tempting, so he could not resist it.

If he could take all of it for himself, that would be at least several times what he obtained from the Immortal Sect of Colossal Elephants.

Jian Chen successfully convinced Xing Caijian to stop destroying the medicinal gardens. Afterwards, he made his way to the next medicinal garden as quickly as he could according to the map he had obtained from Xing Caijian.

Very soon, Jian Chen arrived before a new medicinal garden. There were over eight hundred stalks of heavenly resources there, all at the God Tier. Mid grade God Tier heavenly resources formed a third of them.

The medicinal gardens here came nowhere close to the Immortal Sect of Colossal Elephants in terms of numbers, but they were all the best of the best in terms of quality.

Jian Chen repeated the same trick. He used the secret technique from the Skyscraping Sword Venerable to strip the surrounding region of spiritual Qi before getting the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt to use the Energy-devouring Furnace.

Xing Caijian did not come along. She took the complete opposite path to Jian Chen.
